What is the best way to install an upgrade to CAT?

Can I install an upgrade without stopping all of my current ping-pongs and needing to start from scratch (i.e. losing some money)?

If I need to stop my ping-pongs/close orders and close the program, what are the exact steps to do so?  When will I know that everything is OK and I can close the program and all my orders have been converted to BTC?

There's no concept of "Upgrade". You  must stop and restart the new C.A.T. (or you can start the new C.a.T. on markets not used by the old C.A.T. and close one-by-one all markets on old cat)
You know that all orders (on a market) are converted to BTC where there are no  Ping Orders and no Pong Orders, no Trades of Buy Type and the parameter RETURN ALL TO BTC is active.

I Think you must choose a Logs Folder (with all the subfolder inside) where there are Write Permission on Disk

The allocated main currency & allocated coin currency are not on the stats tab (first two items) ?
The last two items are Pong Buy & Pong Sell, already there.

Only if we also know the first two items can you tell the TOTAL amount of cash in play in the market in the various live buys/sells and in the coins/currency waiting (allocated) to be traded.

It would be really helpful...without remembering all the initial and subsequant pings, I never know how exposed I am in a market !!

Ping Buy/Sell + Pong Buy/Sell are ACTIVE ORDERS (if you go on Cryptsy you can See Them Active)
So i think you have all the info you need to know the Total of "Cash In Play"

Buy/Sell Pool are amount from the Successfull PONG Orders.
From Buy/Sell Pool will born new Ping

Trades Buy/Sell are Trades Born From Ping Buy/Sell. From Trades will born Pong

OK makes sense! So..

Main currency amount (BTC/LTC/XPM) (held for buy orders) = Trades Buy
Coin amount (held for sell orders) in base currency) = Trades Sell
..and 2 others are Total Buy & Total Sell

And the sum of these amounts is the TOTAL amount of cash in play, in the base currency.

Great....do you think we could have a total of these on the summary page ?

...and also if we had this total on the global markets stats page, this would show total cash in play for the whole session.

...and also  if you calculated CURRENT CURRENCY BALANCE (e.g. LTC) - TOTAL of all TRADE SELLs (for each market), then this would give you the available amount from your LTC balance that was available for NEW PINGS. This is helpful as you never know how much of your balance can be used for new trade PINGs.

Let's say, I create a ping pong order in DOGE/LTC marketplace with only the minimum guaranteed gain set, throw in a sell order and a buy order at the suggested prices (Sell DOGE at .0001674LTC and buy DOGE at .0001670LTC).

So for a successful ping-pong to be executed, the price of LTC has to decrease to .0001670, (creating my purchase), then has to increase to .0001674 (to create a sell), thus completing the ping-pong?

What then, if prices of ltc goes up .0001800; are my trades going to be worthless and I then have to recalibrate the Pingpong order?


I don't understand exactly how the 'pinging' and 'ponging' work and there doesn't seem to be any good documentation. Any help?

The ping pong orders will change when the percentage threshold is met.

If you don't buy/sell anything with your set orders and the price moves by the percentage you set it will re-calculate the buy/sell orders.

You have a Pong order and C.A.T. try to recreate it with "best" market condition. But the new price calculated is not good with the Reference Price (the original Sell Ping Order Price).
If C.A.T. recreate this order at new calculated value, there will be only 1.12 % Gain, but you have se 3%.

Anybody willing to share the approximate gain percentage / BTC? So far I don't know is it closer to 0.1%, 1% or 10%...

If you look in this thread you will find some users post his log.
It's very hard to determine a % Gain because there are various way to decide parameters.
So, if you are able to study all markets is easier to choose strategy.

there isn't a fixed % of gain, i can tell you that i'm approx @5% per day, but even if you gain 10%, you have to close all order to calculate the real gain.
