The number of references to the word HODL on Reddit decreased significantly compared to January. This means that people are disappointed in this strategy and are looking for other ways to earn money.

I don't believe people are disappointed in this strategy. This strategy is popular and works smoothly. It criticized only those who do not know how. My opinion is that all strategies work. But they only work in the right hands. In order for each strategy to be successful, you need to be able to combine several strategies.

I think ETH and BTC its a new currency in 21st. We should hodl this coins, because I believe that price to BTC and ETH will be 100k$ and 5000$. Waiting for the Bitcoin lightning network

This morning I saw an article where a guy made a simple calculation through Google trends about HODL strategy, and it showed that call to HODL used less and less from February of 2018. Popularity of word Bitcoin and crypto currency is also falling down.

Why it is so? Do not people believe in Bitcoin and it's bright future anymore?
No matter on such tend I am going to HODL my founds till bitcoin will not come back to 20k$

This only show to us that those that were investing in bitcoin without actually knowing anything about it have left that so everyone else that have an understanding of what bitcoin is about are still in the market and are not going to leave anytime soon, so enjoy this time and take advantage of it before the newbies enter the market once again.

I think the trend or popularity based on it is not accurate as google is uncounted for banning cryptocurrency.. And with so many new competitors aiming to have the spotlight the marketing is exaggeratedly intense as bitcoin price decreases.. This is what is buying happening for certain months now,, but to think about it and to look at the brighter side then it’s a good thing..

As bitcoin price now is increasing then the mainstream market and popularity will soon be materialize..

I dont think the problem is that people dont belive in bitcoin. The problem is that a lot of new people are investing in bitcoin without having much knowledge about how to manage their bitcoin in this kind of situation when the the price crashes. So they invest in december when the price is 19.000$ because other popular,mostly, newbies recommend them to do so and after 1 month the price crashes and go down to 15.000$. From here a lot of people start selling their bitcoin because thwy dont want to lose more money. When the price goes below 10.000$ most of them sell their bitcoins thinking it is the end of it.

For me at any time can keep crypto to get profit because I determined long-term investment in this market so the market fluctuations do not affect too much to me. I advise investors should have long-term orientation to the market to be able to develop long term with the project that they participate in so as not to worry over many times when the market fluctuates as time.

I think, that all happened because of masive advertisement campaign in end of 2017 and after reaching goal (bitcoin price was as high as 19,000$+) And after getting like x20 profit, they stopped to  advertise  cryptocurrencies and bitcoin and also because of facebook, who started blocking all ads with bitcoin , ico and cryptocurrencies.

In what place ? Bitcoin is a popular thing in my country. HODL becomes uneffective these days because of the continues downfall of the bitcoins value and investors panic sell their coins even it just increased cents. We cannot actually blame them because no one can determine bitcoins price.

It would have been decline probably because these real hodlers know already what hodling means. They don't need to use any search engine to just define it for them but because they already know what it means and what to do with it.

The main reason you might see these kind of trend reversals is because most of the people have take a loan or purchase with credits and when the market started correcting they started selling off their coins to counter the burden they took in the form of risks and that might be the reason, most of the early users will be using the long hold strategy only.

I don't believe people are disappointed in this strategy. This strategy is popular and works smoothly. It criticized only those who do not know how. My opinion is that all strategies work. It’s an assumption to say that people are disappointed of hodling just because the number of references has decreased or people don’t use the word as often on Reddit. It’s possible that people have used it less because it’s no longer a hot topic as compared when there was a hype over btc last 2017. Hodl is still done by most people, even when many early investors of the late 2017 have exited.

Lightning network will boost the price of bitcoin, though the fees right now are low we still need this thing for a faster transactions. I know holding on this two coin is profitable, but we must know when to exit the market because the price will not always go up learn from the current situation.

minimizing losses with a cut loss is indeed the easiest way that an investor or trader can do. but they can also do it differently. for example by averaging or other risk management techniques.

I agree with you both, pity to those investors who lost faith in holding their crypto coins, you loss your money 2x if you lost your faith, why? You buy coins in that price then it falling down, in that moment you lost your money, the second you sell it at the lower price, with that you lost your money again. Dont be scared and panic if prices may go down, just relax because it will rise again. Just hold it.

Not too sure about that, there are still many who are still active in the crypto world, perhaps some of them are more altering strategy not by holding bitcoins but investing in the short-term more clearly in getting additional benefits every day, or some other but still within the scope of cryptocurrency, not that there will be no confidence in bitcoin but choosing to find the right time to buy coins, I am sure they will always believe in bitcoin because they consider it very produce, the main line is to keep patience holding your coins.

Through the HODL strategy is how i made serious money (at least for me). When I tried day trade I also made some profit in general, but not comparable and too many stress and fees around the process.
