In this year, I still think that BTC, ETh can not overtake BTC this year or next, if it can take two years for ETH to overcome BTC.

Well, over the past half of 2018, the winners of Bitcoin and Etherium no. Both coins good dipped as the market. Bitcoin is headed downhill, and Etherium behind him there

Both are in the same field which is cryptocurrency the other crypto is the main basis while the other act as a shadow for it but they are both the same. So if it is a contest both of the are the same it will considered as the participants in the same team. But in my own opinion since ethereum is an alternative coin for bitcoin then i think that the winner should be bitcoin because it is the main coin in cryptocurrency.

Hi, in my opinion none of them will win as it is not a duel, BTC is far away to the top and ETH is following, but they will not win, they will just stay the way they are
I agree, this is a constant in the world of cryptocurrency. They snatched their best seats and sit tight on them. Maybe in the future there will be someone better than them, but now these two tokens are in their places and no one will overtake anyone.

I think that Ethereum will have better development in the future, because it almost always has been that way but the gap between Bitcoin is still big. So, this year Bitcoin probably will still be the winner.

There are already almost half as many transactions on the Ethereum blockchain as the Bitcoin blockchain, and Ethereum is growing exponentially , while Bitcoin has reached its maximum capacity for now  Ethereum will likely surpass Bitcoin as the most valuable blockchain . The cryptocurrency market isn’t quite winner-take-all, but the network effect is
extremely strong

I do not know why I'm not sure bitcoin will come back at the end of this year, maybe it's time for ETH or Altcoin to beat bitcoin by the end of this year. Bitcoin is like slowly losing its power and its enthusiasts, maybe the bitcoin enthusiasts will move on to another coin or ETH.

The Ethereum protocol is continuously evolving, there are myriad applications in development, and the user base is exploding. I don’t expect there to be only one “winner”, but if I had to bet on one horse it would definitely be Ethereum.

Bitcoin is absolutely the winner this year also as ethereum is under pressure from many days and its market cap decreased significantly. There is no competition to bitcoin from any coin for leadership and its supremacy continue for long.

Ethereum or EOS will clearly remove bitcoin from its throne as EIM technologies are really useful unlike bitcoin.

Hi. BTC is still the winner against ETH even many of the altcoins are using ERC20 because of the innovative development of bitcoin such as Confidential Transactions, bulletproofs and lightning network which enables developers to private transactions and a solutions like RootStock similar to ERC20 which I think that can surpass the smart contract platform of ETH. I don't think ETH can surpass BTC because of these which helps developers for private transactions and etc.

This year, I bet on Ethereum. As I see, this is the platform that interests many guys that are dealing always with the cryptocurrencies.
Surely, Bitcoin will also rise a lot but not so great as ETH.
so on my opinion, this is the year of Ethereum. Cheesy
But there is some altcoins thar will grow more.

Ethereum is indeed a good platform which is commonly used by most of the altcoins today, but it doesn't resolve the network's problems of bitcoin which is why it won't have any good chance to surpass bitcoin this year, it will only be possible when the shortcomings of bitcoin will be fulfilled by ethereum such as slow transaction confirmation, block size, and network congestion.

I think BTC will be leader 2018. The price of ETH is tied to BTC - look at https://coinmarketcap.com. This is an indicator of dependence.

Yeah, but the price is not everything, how it is tided now, it the same can become untided soon, so I would rether see all the other advantages, that Ether has before Bitcoin.

It's like betting on apples and oranges, these coins have it's own niche and user-base. I'd say to take advantage of the growth of both, why not split your portfolio into both of them? That's a win-win.

ETH will not happen to be superior to BTC for this year because to discuss it is still too early for ETH because ETH is not ready to replace Bitcoin and for this year it will still be held by BTC and that is also valid for several years ahead.
