Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

Both Ethereum and Bitcoin will do very well before the year ends. But i think Ethereum will go an extra mile ahead of Bitcoin. This because this is the era where there many ICOs being launched everyday and most of them use the Ethereum smart contract.

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

In this year it is not yet time for bitcoin to be replaced with another coin, bitcoin is still the strongest and will remain the main coin in crypto, holding bitcoin is still the best for profit.

It is true it seems this year the winner remains bitcoin,
although in 2018 this bitcoin price down but I still believe if the winner bitcoin,

Bitcoin would stay on top even alts are based form is eth but most of investors are always interested putting their money on bitcoin because it is unique the demand is always high the supply is limited and bitcoin almost reaching the max supplies I'm sure the price would be more valuable and bitcoin still the basis of all crypto.

I believe with BTC coins because currently the price of bitcoin is still decreasing and not yet rising therefore I am sure the winner of this year's coin is Bitcoin while for Ethereum now also go up and because I know if the price of Ethereum decreases the price of bitcoin and altcoin will go up and can returns well at the end of the year

BTC was the 'founding father' of cryptocurrencies whereas ETH was built on top of the BTC framework to include more advanced and better features. ETH is considered the 'founding father' of smart contracts in the blockchain. Both are significant in their own ways but in my opinion BTC will still be a leader

for my opinion i think BTC still best option because of its limited supply only 21 million . but ETH network conducts more transactions at a higher speed than bitcoin, 99% of the alternative coins are based on the ETH network, judging by the use of of course the ethereum for me this is both Both ethereums and bitcoins will be winners this year in addition to many other altcoins.  I believe this year we will start seeing huge gains starting now.  It's altcoin season and naturally bitcoins will also rise in price.

btc is still on top, ethereum will always be on the second place after bitcoin, it wont replace bitcoin for being on top. because bitcoin is still better than any other altcoins in the market.

With all the declines going on in today's crypto, I think BTC and ETH are all going to keep slowing down slowly. So that will lead the crypto this year will remain BTC. ETH will remain below BTC. It takes effort and a long struggle if indeed ETH is able to surpass BTC.

In my opinion, the idea of ETH will surpass BTC is a bit difficult since BTC is the pioneer of this world. But regarding their chance of profit, I prefer ETH because of its smaller marketcap.
