On April 19th 2018, GPU coin was officially re-launched and rebranded as NulleX, the world's first privacy-oriented cryptocurrency to utilize the newly conceived Null Protocol.
Null Protocol will be an anonymity protocol that completely eliminates transactional linkability and provides full fungibility by introducing an innovative UTXO destruction and reconstruction mechanism.


    Null Protocol will feature:

• Provable security, ensuring minting is completely backed by pre-existing coinbase
• Computationally-friendly generation and usage
• No inflationary effect on the network
• Full optional privacy

It will become the standard upon which anonymous transactions are carried out across the network. A full technical whitepaper detailing the architecture of Null Protocol and its interaction with the Nullex network will be published later this year.

A full roadmap detailing the core team's vision and strategy on making Nullex the most economically viable currency available in the space will be presented in the future as well.

Later on this year, in May 2018 (exact date and block height TBA), GPU coin will be forked into NulleX, using a fresh and more robust code base that will provide us with a solid foundation for future developments.
It will feature masternodes for network scalability, full community voting and governance, and a developer fee for sustained long-term development. As this is a technical fork for the purpose of developing and implementing unique Null Protocol, no changes will be applied to the economics of the network itself, meaning that your GPU coins will be carried over to the NulleX network at a ratio of 1:1.

I agree my friend, NulleX is a lot better name for the coin as most people also thought that GPU coin was a mining coin only. Well it was early on but the dev switch to 100% PoS which hardly anyone knew about. Things are starting to come along nicely here and from what I have been seeing on the discord the amount of coins to own a masternode will likely be either 50k or 100k, this is not 100% set in stone just yet. We should get an official update very soon on this, I think either one is good but I think 50k is fair for everyone.

No as the swap is going to be 1:1 and I believe the GPU coins will be burned so we'll be left with just NulleX. Basically GPU is NulleX right now but the name just needs to be changed as we can send GPU coins to our NulleX wallets or for us who have been in GPU for a long time can just add our wallet.dat into the new NulleX wallet folder and our coins will show up like I just done the other day.

Sometime last week, their daemon fucked up and sent multiple withdrawals for each real request by the user. Even though this is an error on their code, they decide that the users are at fault, and it is within their right to recover those funds.

I kinda get where they are coming from, but its kinda hypocritical from an exchange that will not recover funds sent internally to null account or withdrawn to wrong address. Imagine you mistype an address when withdrawing from CB, you know full well they will say too bad. But when its their money on the line, the rules are different. Anyway, I digress.

So in an attempt to recover these funds, their plan is to block these users from further withdrawing from CB. They will hold the users fund on CB hostage to ransom for the amount they mistakenly sent to the user's external address. This leads to the second major fuck up. Instead of coming up with a specific criterion to identify these users, they decide to cast a super wide net. I believe the criterion they use is whether the user received, from CB, multiple deposits to the same external address within a short period of time (perhaps within the same day). Of course this leads to multiple false positive. I myself trade several BTC in volume daily on this exchange. I remember during that period LTC was pretty cheap on CB, so I was buying them up every time price dropped and immediately withdrawing to sell on another exchange.

Seems they did not bother to check that I was making legit withdrawals and decide to punish me... simply for being an active user...

Imagine you mistype an address when withdrawing from CB, you know full well they will say too bad. But when its their money on the line, the rules are different. Anyway, I digress.

So in an attempt to recover these funds, their plan is to block these users from further withdrawing from CB. They will hold the users fund on CB hostage to ransom for the amount they mistakenly sent to the user's external address. This leads to the second major fuck up. Instead of coming up with a specific criterion to identify these users, they decide to cast a super wide net. I believe the criterion they use is whether the user received, from CB, multiple deposits to the same external address within a short period of time (perhaps within the same day). Of course this leads to multiple false positive. I myself trade several BTC in volume daily on this exchange. I remember during that period LTC was pretty cheap on CB, so I was buying them up every time price dropped and immediately withdrawing to sell on another exchange.

Seems they did not bother to check that I was making legit withdrawals and decide to punish me... simply for being an active user...

The rewards keeping rolling in which is good but its a lot less now as there are a lot more masternodes online which is great for the NulleX network. Now that the chain has kicked in we will most likely see more nodes come online as the block rewards are a lot better then before.

There will be a huge difference in supply when the swap is completed. And with the NAV's already running now, the Nullex network is already strong in mine opinion. This would be huge if we start we the Null protocol main net.

This is great news to see Cryptopia supporting the coin swap. Its rare to see this happen with this exchange as normally they didn't support coin swaps over to new blockchains in the past. Hopefully this will be something they continue to do as most other exchanges support coin swaps. NulleX really needed to keep Cryptopia as that is where most of the trading is done.

There should be no need to restart the masternode after updating, but to double-check that it is still running, you can run the command:

Implementing the full zerocoin protocol (zNLX) is something we have planned for later this year if you check out our roadmap. Currently, minting of zNLX is working, but there is no way to see, spend or convert zNLX back to NLX at this time. Your zNLX coins are not lost but you will be unable to access them until the Nullex wallet fully supports zerocoin, which will be coming in a future wallet update.

The connections are fine its just stuck. I don't want to mess up my masternode so that is why I'm asking how to fix this because normally I would delete everything in the NulleX folder except wallet.dat and that fixes the issue but now that I have a node running, I don't want to delete it. Any help would be great, thanks!

We've had a number of wallets get stuck and/or go out of sync with the rest of the chain and the more unsynced nodes there are, the more difficult it is to remain in sync. Before the coin swap you were on the old GPU (rebranded to NLX) chain which supported POS. The new NLX chain does not yet support POS although we are planning to release an update soon that will enable it and will be announced at a later time. Thanks for the reply and a solution, I followed the guide to re-sync my wallet and VPS and now all is working well again. However I did noticed that earlier today I received a MN reward for 0.85 NLX, I'm just wondering what that is and should I be worried about it? I checked that my wallet and VPS are on the right blocks as the explorer and all looks the same. So not sure what this 0.85 reward is as I only got this after the update.

I already tried multiple times to start my nullex daemon with -reindex but always the same error... I cannot start my Masternode.
Furthermore I'm a bit confused that the last generated block is 77977 on 03.09...

️ MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE ️

As many of you are aware, NulleX was the victim of a malicious miner who tried to manipulate the mining rewards to benefit them.  In response, the NulleX team responded quickly and decided to make the move to PoS sooner than anticipated.  We began a Testnet to ensure that the wallet update would work successfully.

We are now officially a PoS cryptocurrency.  With that, and because of the mainnet downtime, we are INCREASING the masternode rewards by 86% over a two month period.  In order for the NulleX community to take advantage of these increased rewards, you MUST UPDATE YOUR WALLET!

The newest wallet is version 1.3.6.1 and includes a protocol change require every controller and NAV wallet to be updated.  Below are the procedures on how to update the wallet.

 CONTROLLER WALLETS:

Windows:
Step 1:  Download the wallet https://github.com/white92d15b7/NLX/releases/download/1.3.6.1/nullex-qt.exe
Step 2: With the Wallet shut off, delete the banlist.dat file by Start > Run > %APPDATA% and locating the nullexqt folder which may be inside the Roaming folder.
Step 3: Restart the wallet and resync the blockchain by going to Wallet Repair > Delete Blockchain Data Folders (Resync)

Mac OSX:
Step 1:  Download the wallet https://github.com/white92d15b7/NLX/releases/download/1.3.6.1/NulleX_MAC_1361.dmg
Step 2:  With the wallet shut off, delete the banlist.dat file by going to Spolight Search (Search icon at the top right or by Clicking SPACEBAR + COMMAND) and typing in Application Support then located the nullexqt folder.
Step 3: Restart the wallet and resync the blockchain files by going to Wallet Repair > Delete Blockchain Data Folders (Resync)

Next, verify that you are on the current block height as per the block explorer at explorer.nullex.io and on the 70914 protocol by typing in:
nullex-cli getinfo

Next, check to see that your masternode is successfully started by typing in:
nullex-cli masternode status

If you see an error that states Not capable masternode: Hot node, waiting for remote activation., you will need to go to the Debug Console on the controller wallet and restart your masternode by typing in:
startmasternode alias false nav1 replacing nav1 with the name of your masternode.

If you see it was successful, go back to your NAV and press up a few times until you see nullex-cli masternode status and press enter.  You should now see Masternode successfully started.

When does the  appear?
You may see that Syncronization has failed or that the  is not appearing.  That is fine.  Most likely, the wallet doesn't have enough peers to syncronize correctly.  This will take some time as the wallet is searching for peers who are on the 70914 protocol as we are just switching over all nodes.  The wallet will do everything automatically!

Why can I not Stake?
First, ensure that your wallet is Unlocked for Staking Only.  Next, you will need to wait.  After a few minutes, you should see the staking icon turn to Green from Red.  For staking, your coins must "age" and that takes some time but eventually you will see your rewards start to come in.

I updated my wallet yesterday and also the MN VPS script to version 1.3.8 and now when I opened my wallet to check to see if the rewards have been increased, I get the opposite as my MN is paying 50% less. I'm interested to hear if anyone else is having the same issue that I'm having with MN rewards being lower instead of increased.

***WALLET UPDATE**

Wallet 1.3.9 is now available for download via nullex.io

Everyone please update your wallets to 1.3.9 ASAP. The DMRS rewards will kick in after block 186k (November 29). Please keep in mind that the new quarterly rewards will not start until 51% of the wallets are on version 1.3.9, so please we ask that everyone updates within the next week so that we can all enjoy the 50% ROI rewards for the quarter.

A new install script has already been released to assist you in updating your masternode wallets. For those that are updating wallet v1.3.8 to v1.3.9, you will  need to do a full resync after the wallet is upgraded. For those that are updating wallet v1.3.6.1 to v1.3.9, no resync is necessary and the new wallet should sync without a problem.

VPS INSTRUCTIONS:
- For upgrade from 1.3.6.1 to 1.3.9: Log into  your VPS using PuTTY. Type the  command: sudo sh nullex-nav-installer.sh  When message ##### Installation complete ##### appears type the command: nullex-cli getblockcount and check that the block is matching the block# on  the block explorer https://explorer.nullex.io/

I have updated my wallet and Masternode on the VPS so now we just wait for the increased block rewards to start at block 186,000. I just hope the majority of the Nullex community has updated their wallets and masternodes by then so we can all start enjoying the increased rewards. Keep up the good work dev as whenever there has been a problem they have been quick to get it fixed.

**UPDATE 05/12/2018**                                   Hi everyone, we need to take the DMRS program back to the lab for the moment before we are comfortable with releasing it knowing that all wallets will stay in sync. This can take sometime so for now we will have to roll back to wallet 1.3.6.1 so everything works and syncs properly.

Most likely the DMRS will require a mandatory protocol update which will include other wallet updates but we are going to try to fix this without requiring a protocol change.

Please follow the below instruction in order to re-sync your wallets:

For the QT: download the 1.3.6.1 from github.  delete your old nullex-qt.exe, clean out everything but keep wallet.dat and masternode .conf and run it.

For the daemon, nav, vps, vm.  you need to log in, nullex-cli stop, then sudo rm -r .nullexqt, and then run sudo sh nullex-nav-installer.sh and it will give you new information for your controller.

Once again, please note that the DMRS is a new technology and we are going to deliver it in a way that will work faultlessly. The program was created and added to our roadmap very recently in order to compensate the whole bear market, without the DMRS the rewards would have been at 3.825 NLX per block anyway so the DMRS is a bonus that the team is trying to add on.

I was having trouble trying to get my Nullex wallet to sync for a couple of days now, I even did a couple of re-syncs of the blockcahin and it worked for that time but the next time I opened up the wallet it wouldn't sync again. I believe the team can get this DMRS to work but not right now, maybe in the new year we'll see this come to life.

Its not looking good here with one of the dev being fired, I'm not 100% sure on why this person was fired as I'm not in the telegram but on discord it was said that this person was fired due to a unsuccessful 2018 with Nullex. Trystan is/was the lead dev of Nullex. The culmination of his conflict with Eric and the rest of the team is this ugly fallout that we're now experiencing. Haven't had time to go on discord and listen to Trystan's side of the story, but there was allusions to drug use on TG channel

No new to crypto. Just don't care about the cult of personality or who's is who. I have my approach to crypto and it mostly involves knowing the team and their ability to deliver - or inability to.  If my bag moons or rekt, I wanna be completely in control of the decisions leading to it. Totally respect your decision, but I'm looking for what's best for my bag. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush and right now NLX is the bird in hand and de facto gold standard any fork by any party is gonna be measured by. Make sure if you plan to use Novaexchange or Cryptopia you are on wallet version 2.0.0 or newer.  If your coins are on Cryptopia and your going to withdraw you will need to make sure your on v2.0 or you will lose your coins in the transfer.
