Crypto currency is a very risky investment. That's why you have to make a decision about whether you are ready to take risks or not. After all, no one will give you a guarantee that your investments will give you a profit.

I see. As what my co member has told me regarding this matter, altcoins is not a must to hold. Crypto is created with a number of purposes it's either necessary or necessity. According to him, if you intend to hold for a very long period of time it may result to frustration however,if you have this mind set of being quick and happy go lucky ability then you can sell at your best. It doesn't matter. And,I believe that both are profitable.

Yes we really need to hold alts but let me explain something. It is obviously clear that there are more than 1500 coins/tokens and they all can be called altcoins. If hold alts just aim top 100-200 cmc, others for speculation reasons only!

I think that investments will have a better result for us than daily trading. By investing, we provide security for ourselves, in the sense that when trading, we can lose more, especially if there is no experience.

There's many potential alts, for me it's okay to hold alts. But i don't want to hold alts If it can not give me some profit what i need. Beside that, i think they are more fast recovering than the bitcoins.

It's right that altcoins rely on bitcoin price movements. But you can make daytrading by altcoins and increase your bitcoin amount.

Bitcoin affects altcoin prices because when you trade altcoins, you buy bitcoin first or ethereum most of the time. You have the option to be safe and just hold bitcoin because it is the most likely coin that will last for a long time but if you wanted to increase the amount of bitcoin you hold then it would be better to buy altcoin and then sell it if its bitcoin value increase. There is no need to hold altcoins but it is a great way to increase your bitcoin or for some ethereum holdings.

The situation of the market is slowly gaining the momentum, so it is good to hold the coins until the price starts increasing. In the mean time, people who hold the coins will always get benefits with the increased price of all altcoins.

from my 1 year experience on the crypto currency. i always keep alt only. alt is very good investment compare to btc. if we need to invest on btc , we have invest lot of. but in alt we can start with little money. if you find potential alts you are rich.
these days my picks are

PRL
ZIL
SENC

Yes its probably true that investing into altcoins can be more profitable compared to bitcoin, because of the cheaper price of altcoins. But it's truly difficult to find a good and reliable altcoins that you can trust in investing your money for a long period of time, it really takes a lot of time in researching and reviewing of there project before you find a good and reliable altcoin that you can trust, unlike in bitcoin that is already proven and tested by so many investors from this forum.

Our main task is to invest in the right altcoins that will survive and not disappear as 90 percent. I would advise to invest in Red Pulse, Apex, Refereum

I think it depends on you though, if you think it is better to hold on to altcoins then hold them but if you see that bitcoin is better to hold on to rather than altcoins then I’d most probably hold bitcoin or maybe almost all of my coins are converted to bitcoin and anportion would be ethereum or something like that.

DO WE REALLY??? no. we arent forcing here.  no one has been forced to hold an alt nor bitcoin . if you wanted to earn a profit or if you want to use a crypto for buying or paying  , then that is the perfect time to say that you must hold your own altcoins.  but if you are just a causual person or an average joe that is not really familliar on how crypto works , then there is no need for you to buy them. crypto is not your business , period.

Holding both for bitcoin and altcoin is rather a good choice. Adding one more option to take more profit is a strategy that everyone has ever thought. It even could be more if they have much in their pocket. Some altcoins have a good prospect, so we should not miss our chance to get additional profit just because underestimating the potential of altcoins.

yes, we really need to hold altcoin and btc at the same time.

cause altcoin offer some new feature that you wont find in bitcoin. like : transaction speed, privacy, and other function which you won't found it in btc.

so that's why before we decided to hold the altcoins we must make sure to check their product, community, team, etc.

Yes it is. By holding the coin you can help to increase the value as selling will lower the price. Once the product is stable that is the time you can make a sell and earn your profit.

For me her point is actually reasonable and correct! I also notice it, when the price of BTC is goong down other altcoin is affected as well which make altcoins dependable to BTC which is not good.

I don't think so as well. To my mind, they are worth to be traded because they are more active than BTC. I am sure that altcoins are better for trading than for holding.

Even though I agree with her to some extent, I also think it is not bad to hold altcoins. Some altcoins like Ethereum are very good and holding them can guarantee you profit. It is only the new altcoins that are coming up that the performance of the coin is not yet stable.

as seen from any existing price movement is altcoin very dependent on bitcoin and proved every bitcoin price decreased then decreased altcoin price, but when altcoin price down did not give any effect to bitcoin.
this is what proves that the bitcoin aka keeps growing and surviving in the absence of altcoin.
