for me these days it seems like altcoins are doing better than bitcoin because pretty much all of their prices are green while bitcoin price is red. But the difference is to little to consider it a threat to bitcoin and people are investing on it big time, there are some factors that affects why altcoin cannot surpase biycoin at the current moment, its because bitcoin act as aa bridge to buy and sell altcoins, that contributes a big factor.

Everything is mainly tethered to the BTC trading pair, so as BTC falls, alt coins will fall as well.
that is the truth for now. But should there be any problems with bitcoin in long rung which wouldn' apply to other crypto,the market would adjust very easily and fast. Although it is true that we have come so far as even being able to reach 20,000$ of value last year, it is still too early to claim which one will dominate the market. We are all aware of each pf these coins' strength and weaknesses and both respect them. Which makes it even more hard for us to pick sides. Give both coins even more time, I bet one of these coins will stand out than the other eventually. |

When I joined this market I realized one thing, btc and the predecessors have some very big disadvantages that the amount of coin is very few tens of millions to several billion. In order to popularize and provide enough coin for the world economy we need coin that has total supply of trillions of coin. Another problem is the price is high, how popular it is to each person when its price is hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars. btc and coin are gradually losing their contribution to global economic transactions

A simple fact in cryptocurrency is that every coin has its own day or reigning time and this doesn't last for long. Just few altcoin mooning doesn't mean they control the market because Bitcoin still holds the highest cap in the total market. So most times , Bitcoin still controls the market.
