bla blah........is still a conference in May:
https://bitcoinfoundation.org/forum/index.php?/topic/652-bitcoin2014-l-may-15-17-l-amsterdam/

Of course, by then we may all be sitting in the Maldives, drinking beer served to us by supermodels.

I'm not the least bit surprised at this.
The worst part of it, is that they are still updating the site and are selling tickets.
So I would definitely call it a scam, because there is no way they will ever be able to book Science Park just a few months in advance.

Pity. Hopefully the bitcoinfoundation conference will turn out to be legit.

Having acquired over 10,000 Nxt now, I am willing to do a video conference from the Maledives, too, though.
Any whales reading this: give me and Damelon lots more NXT. We deserve it, tho' I think Damelon deserves it more:
http://www.nxtcoins.nl/

how many nxt does one have to have inorder to be a whale?

Good question......I'll say over the million. I reckon we are going to be looking at $1 / NXT very soon, so any one with 106 or more is gonna be a very happy cetacean.

Dogecoin........ I had 30 million. Sigh. I underestimated the masses new to crypto. I thought people started realizing doge had no future so I got out with "good" profit.

Nxt IS the future. But what does that matter to a teenage girl or even her older brother. Nxt has a different purpose of course but like a member was posting

before about the importance of marketing. I don't want to dumb down nxt or anything but there has to be a balance. Like when ipod and then iphone first

came out, it was a technical achievement for the masses. The hipsters were all about the tech side of it and the average person wanted one to feel they were with it

even if they didn't "get it" yet. Nxt's main concern is and should be the continuing development of its ground breaking features. But who said that was mutually

exclusive to mass appeal? Now lets let the smart people figure how to do that cuz I sure duno how. Don't forget that Vin Diesel sells more tickets than Daniel Day Lewis.

Let's put Daniel Day Lewis' face and brain on Vin Diesel's body and call it Nxt.  Undecided

Well, I faced a moral dilemma and would like to ask for an advice...

FrictionlessCoin created a thread dedicated to NEX (descendant of NXT). I had a lot of fun reading that thread but I suspect some people took NEX seriously. The problem is that if FC waits till April when Nxt source code becomes completely open, he still won't be able to generate a valid genesis block, coz Nxt uses a crypto algo modified by BCNext (this is why we collected 10 BTC for the audit). I support all cryptocurrencies and would like to help him to create a new genesis block, competition is good for the whole crypto-community. But this could look not very good to guys who own NXTs...

What would u do?

I would tell him that the only way for his coin to be truly fair, would be to make it free forever.  Otherwise, he's creating nothing new or fair.

I work for a non-profit and so work willingly for a small wage doing a job that could earn me loads of dosh.
That doesn't make it "unfair", it makes it my choice.

I find these cries of "unfair" so unbelievably naïve. I entered Nxt and couldn't buy a lot, because of said wage. So I decided to work, and it's paying off, because people here value work. I love that. Anyone who puts in hours and puts himself in the limelight can earn. I really believe FrictionlessCoin believes his story, though. That makes it a bit sad, because in the end he will still have to deal with the accusations of those who came later to the party.

The sad truth is that a lot people are out for a free lunch.

+10

I get the impression that FC actually has some psychological issues. I definitely wouldn't want to spend much time in the same space....

It doesn't matter if FC has issues. He is useful and now is a part of Nxt promotion.

I can't find a BTC deposit address. I only see NXT address.

if you go to balances in the btc pane where you see withdrawals. Above that there will be a deposit address, near the top of the pane.

A bitcointalk poll? Really?

Is this a test to see who has the most bitcointalk alt accounts?

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

So where can I find written descriptions of the five levels of TF to add to the white paper?

In the 2nd and 3rd parts of BCNext's plan.

What is the timeline for the 2nd and 3rd parts? Are we in the 1st part?

WE NEED AN ACCOUNT FREEZE CODE CAPABILITY A USER CAN LOAD INTO THE BLOCKCHAIN AS A PAID MESSAGE THAT ALL NODES WILL RECOGNIZE AND REJECT ALL TRANSACTIONS OUT OF THIS ACCOUNT UNTIL A USER REVERSES IT AND TURNS IT OFF WITH A SECOND PASSWORD.

No need to shout, but yes. +1

###

woulda saved me 107000 NXT Sad

Would have saved me 500k NXT. Sad

As a lawyer says to a jury, I rest my case.

Utopianfuture, you could wake up tomorrow to this nightmare.  So could I.  Dear reader, so could you.

There is a reason for this, both have something in common.  I still have some Nxt in an 8 character password (all letters) account and it's still there no problem.

Nope, TwinWinNerD and I discussed it.

Yes.

And the strange thing is, IF they had access to my Keepass database, why did they only target my NXT accounts and not exchange accounts with funds on them? I had a good bunch of money on bitfinex for example. Or use my reputation in various forums to scam people?

I am still not 100% convinced it was a keylogger with access to all my datas. Maybe someone found a way to read the chache of my browser? I never use "Safe mode" for NXT. Maybe i should do that from now on?

I always use the secure 7875 connection, do either of you?  Either way, sorry for your loss.

I had problems with early versions, so i always used this bookmark: http://localhost:7874/

Could that be a serious problem?

It could be if a hacker has access to your browser cache, if it's 7875, they wouldn't be able to see anything.  It's such an isolated incident, that it may be something you did, but don't remember doing, like accessing your account on a public node address.

I prefer that - as the Newbie restrictions have now been lifted there is nothing to stop someone spending the next 12 hours creating new accounts and voting in the poll (am assuming that you guys did read about the Newbie restrictions being lifted today).
