This website shows when mine departed and is in route to the US.  http://globaltracktrace.ptc.post/gtt.web/

For some reason I can't access .post URLs with Google's DNS servers - works on my phone, though:)

Fabrication typically takes 8 working days (see https://openrigs.com/information/information&information_id=6), after which it ships out:)

That last status (insert item into bag out) means it's left the country - so there's not much more it can say:) Tracking it to see if it's arrived is best done on USPS or Royal Mail or whatever the local mail service is (using the same tracking number)

Does it usually take over 16 days to send stuff from SA to US?  Honest question, because I've gotten things from China within 5-10 days.

I've had things from China make it in that time frame as well as much longer.
fluffypony , can you check on order #1125?

Definitely - small parcels from China are typically sent airmail, which is significantly faster. Surface mail is by boat, which means the vessel needs to get to its destination port and then you have the import cycle. As you've seen with the shipping options we offer, though, airmail is also prohibitively more expensive:)

Yeah... we're nearing two months since purchase and I have no product. WTFoxtrot. Yes, out of everyone's hands, problems here and there, and it's on some tugboat in the pacific ocean or some shit. Whatever the case is, I'm close to rage factor 10.

Constructive feedback:

I see a "update" in the USPS system...

Ah - you ordered with a Gmail account, Gmail are marking our mails as spam. I've passed this on to the support team to re-update your order and let you know:)

I feel you - we're actively taking steps to improve the situation going forward, not only for the rest of the year when there isn't a post office/customs backlog, but this coming December/January period as well. We're also making big changes to our JIT tail so that we carry more buffer stock and can push orders out faster. Whilst we can't do anything about the sea journey part of the process, we're actively working with a US distributor to see how best to hold and replenish stock in the US, which will be more expensive than surface mail shipping, but will obviously be a lot faster.

Sure - what you can do is add the items you ordered to your cart on OpenRigs, and then view your cart and use the Shipping Estimator to see your options and their costs. Obviously we would deduct the amount you already paid for shipping. Once you've decided on the change, then let the support team know (info@openrigs.com) how you'd like to pay the difference and they'll finalise it for you.

Were are we at on the orders? I hope progress is being made.  Grin

- A lot of people - like a LOT - aren't getting email updates because GMail is marking our email as spam. We've put a notice at the end of the checkout process in big bold letters to let them know they must check their spam folder, although not everyone reads that. We've also checked our SPF record and so on, and everything seems to be in order, so I don't know what's prompted GMail's filters to flag our system emails. They are receiving the emails without indicating a softfail:

root@mailer:/var/log/exim4# grep -ir "1W30sM-0005Qt-C7" *
mainlog.1:2014-01-14 05:05:38 1W30sM-0005Qt-C7 <= www-data@mailer.openrigs.com U=www-data P=local S=1540
mainlog.1:2014-01-14 05:05:39 1W30sM-0005Qt-C7 => XXXredactedXXXX@gmail.com R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp H=gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com [173.194.76.26] X=TLS1.0:RSA_ARCFOUR_SHA1:16 DN="C=US,ST=California,L=Mountain View,O=Google Inc,CN=mx.google.com"
mainlog.1:2014-01-14 05:05:39 1W30sM-0005Qt-C7 Completed

We may have to switch over to GMail's SMTP if this doesn't abate.

Your SPF DNS record doesn't allow Gmail to send on behalf of your domain (openrigs.com). Fixing that should resolve the issue.

ie, "v=spf1 mx ptr a:geartri.be a:mailer.openrigs.com include:_spf.google.com ~all"

Thanks - I've made the change, but I'm confused...the mails are going from mailer.openrigs.com to a server as dictated by gmail.com's MX record...why does it need to have anything other than a:mailer.openrigs.com to allow it? My SPF-fu is bad:)

Heh, it's not my forte. Using the command nslookup -q=mx openrigs.com shows that you use GoogleApps.

C:\Users\x>nslookup -q=mx openrigs.com
Server:  xx.xxx.xx
Address:  xx.xxx.xx.xx

Non-authoritative answer:
openrigs.com    MX preference = 5, mail exchanger = alt2.aspmx.l.google.com
openrigs.com    MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = aspmx2.googlemail.com
openrigs.com    MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = aspmx3.googlemail.com
openrigs.com    MX preference = 1, mail exchanger = aspmx.l.google.com
openrigs.com    MX preference = 5, mail exchanger = alt1.aspmx.l.google.com

aspmx.l.google.com      internet address = 74.125.142.27

Given that, you need your SPF record to allow to send "on behalf of [google]" for e-mails to appear as legitimate. We run into similar issues implementing CRM systems and allowing them to integrate with e-mail systems that aren't hosted by the CRM system itself (such as a ticketing system integration, and in this case, your sendmail/postix server).

You can message me and that would be fantastic Smiley thanks and sorry again.
