The past week, as I've been looking to invest in recently finished ICOs since most of their prices are way below ICO price, I noticed the same thing mentioned over and over in their telegram channels.

People screaming: HODL!!!  It will moon someday!!!!

Another one that is common: When BINANCE!?!?! If only we were on Binance!!!

This makes me laugh inside.  Crypto is not a magical place where all coins will eventually rise in value if you just hold on to them.

Most ICOs did very poorly the last 3 months.  The ones that did the worst were the ones that started in January
Now, a lot of these startups are underfunded and could only list in low volume exchanges and seeing their prices crash to ridiculously low prices.
And everyone is crying on their Telegram.

Listen very closely yo: The price will never rise if everyone HODls!

Prices are boosted through supply and demand and if a vast majority of people who own the coin are not trading it, than you are severely cutting in to that chain.

Instead of Hodling, you should be buying and making strategic trade choices.
We have different kind of story and kind of technique in crypto community to survive. Both holding and trading is what we need. Holding is important through this we can gain more profit while in trading, this is also important to convert your token or coin to be useful.

I agree with your opinion. It depends on the coins if you are HODL a coin that has no potential you cant gain more profits of that you should hold a potential coin in order to have big profits.

I dont concur with you in a few focuses. It relies upon which coin you hold. Truly you are correct if everyone holds coins, there will be no esteem. Some will offer, some will purchase and some will hold. And furthermore there are a few coins which ought to be hold.

I have dependably put stock in holding and this technique truly works for me as opposed to stressing regular and thinking about whether market will build today. Holding really givea you a superior possibility of picking up benefit and some way or another gives you an opportunity to reevaluate on your methodology.

Holding for a longtime will get you to earn one profit if you are investing in some coin better HODL  for a long time as we invest by looking at the coin. If we invest we look for profit so for that profit HODL for a longtime.

This will rely upon the coin itself I think. Each coin has distinctive esteem and rate after the ICO closes. Some regard hold and some regard offer promptly. It will truly rely upon the coin on the off chance that it is important or not for long holding. In any case, I endeavor to hold my coin around then on the grounds that the rate is little and I trust some time or another it will be higher.

At least those who hold coins, they have principles and they believe that one day the coins they hold will increase in value in the future, those who get coins from bounties or invest in ico, I think they do research and research on projects they follow .

if our coins at HODLing we will have the advantage if the price of the coin starts to rise very quickly, HODLing is the same as we save our coins so that our coins can increase in price many times the results are not the same as what we have bought with coins before.

If you are holding some trash coins that has no potential and has no chance of growth then yes holding will get you nowhere. Before you proceed on holding you must consider what coins you are planning to hold. You must know first wether you can earn profit with those coin and it has a lot of potential.

HODLing is a key market strategy for certain situations.  I agree it does not work in certain cases and is a down right disaster in others.  It does have it's spot in your tool bag though.  Right now for instance if your still in you may as well HODL vs taking a 90% loss.

If you constantly keep all the coins that you could get, then of course, this will not be the best tactic. In addition, it primarily depends on the state of the crypto-currency market. Undoubtedly, all holders of crypto-currencies remained without profit this year. The market has been in decline for a year. Of course. it will not always be. The rise of the market will be necessary and then promising coins and tokens will grow. Some coins will grow insignificantly, another part will never rise. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly monitor the trends of the crypto-currency market and adequately respond to market changes. Simple retention is not always effective.

I think holding it and being patient is an act that will make you more fortunate if there is a chance to get a profit. I would suggest that if you are planning to invest in altcoins, you may consider ETH because based on my observation, it was doing great in the current market with positive marks in the crypto market.

hold not just any hold. What is withheld will be the deciding factor whether it could generate and whether that was done. Indeed many people say will generate more value in the hold but of course takes time and also nice coins that have the potential for being held.

I don't agree with you, mate. HODL is very good if you invested in strong projects and have enough patience.

History has proved that there are ups and downs .

As long as there is nothing preventing the crypto currency from going bankrupt there is a good chance it will break ATH again , but it could take as long as 2022.

If you did not manage to sell your coins before January 15, 2018, then HODL - is the only thing left for you. If there is even the slightest chance that in the next 5 years some kind of coin from your portfolio will give your X's, then you will return your investments with a profit. But selling coins for a pittance in a falling market is an unforgivable stupidity. I'm also HODL now and live only with hope for the future.
