Yes, I think this strategy came from bitcoin , but something on altcoins it works a little , I think it's better to learn to trade in order not to sit forever in altcoins

The past week, as I've been looking to invest in recently finished ICOs since most of their prices are way below ICO price, I noticed the same thing mentioned over and over in their telegram channels.

People screaming: HODL!!!  It will moon someday!!!!

Another one that is common: When BINANCE!?!?! If only we were on Binance!!!

This makes me laugh inside.  Crypto is not a magical place where all coins will eventually rise in value if you just hold on to them.

Most ICOs did very poorly the last 3 months.  The ones that did the worst were the ones that started in January
Now, a lot of these startups are underfunded and could only list in low volume exchanges and seeing their prices crash to ridiculously low prices.
And everyone is crying on their Telegram.

Listen very closely yo: The price will never rise if everyone HODls!

Prices are boosted through supply and demand and if a vast majority of people who own the coin are not trading it, than you are severely cutting in to that chain.

Instead of Hodling, you should be buying and making strategic trade choices.

Personally, I absolutely disagree with this statement. In fact, the right choice and hold of good coins provides promising opportunities for earning income in the future. Especially after the market recovers from next year, when we will be able to see the rise in prices of most reliable cryptocurrencies.

I agree now the market is very difficult to store tokens for a very long time , but if you keep the tokens for a long time and keep now, the market tend to fall and grow again

Most people believe they should only just hold for the future without making any attempt to even increase the quantity they held.

Personally, I do not agree with such an opinion. As before, reliable cryptocurrency currency is an excellent choice for profitable and long-term investments. Now the best strategy for working in the crypto market will continue to hold and buy promising coins with good potential, many of them will begin to actively rise from next year.

HODL to me right now is hanging in there for like years to come or maybe if the project actually makes a significant move with their roadmap apart from that my advice for you is just trade or buy at exchange if you cant HODL or you don't value the ico that much. But Just HODL anything will just burn you down

I think you have a point on your opinion and everyone of us is entitled to that based on our actual experience bit as for mine I still prefer holding because this strategy works for me and give me better profit. As for buying coins,I am not against it only that you need to choose a good coin first.

It depends on the coin, some coins are worth holding while some are to be dumped and forgotten. Right now selling off most tokens will be at a loss because of the market situation but one would also think for how long do I want to hold?? That's where we need patience, it sometimes pays off at the end especially for solid projects.

Let's say you invested in all good ICOs that have been out so far in 2018. Your investment strategy is to dump right after the token being unlocked and exchanged between people. These folks following this investment strategy are called flippers as we all know.

Another investment strategy is to hold even after the token being unlocked and exchanged between people. You want to hold because you think sell right after the unlocking is way too cheap. These folks are call hodlers.

A harsh but true statistics: Flippers make more profit that hodlers do in 2018. So yeah, 2018 is the year of flippers I guess.

I don't think so because if I am holding my coins during long term they could down and raise again and I won't lose my money!
But you also doesnt have profits from all these movements and that`s what we are talking about. your deposit is actually dead if you just hodl

HODLING can be profitable for investors. But with the condition that you need a choice of potential electronic coins to buy and hold. Therefore, each investor needs his own research and needs to consult around for the correct decision.

I do not agree with your statement, just the opposite, it is most profitable for investors to sell their coins immediately after entering the stock exchange, in order to get a certain profit from the bonuses that were provided at the ICO stage. That often leads to a strong collapse in prices, and bounty hunters are usually blamed for this.

here I agree with you, if you hold everything, then of course only a part of the coins is a success .. I think people are talking about long-term hold trying to support each other, as the market has fallen many times .. but I would have sold and bought part of my portfolio which is really promising and already has a large market capitalization

what is meant by hold there is probably, they save the book while waiting for the bitcoin price and the etherum price to rise. usually I get instructions like that friend. because it's the same, if the price of etherum is cheap, then the price of the token is also worthless. in my opinion like that

yes, it is true that everything also depends on coins that have good potential in the future, if one chooses coins, investors might get a loss and have to hold the coin for a long time. because not all coins will soar at a high price, let alone new coins.

holding will not get you nowhere. holding gives you an opportunity to earn high profit, and the demand that you are talking about will come when the project itself has a latest updates or plan that will make the price increase due to its demand.
I think what you say is true and right holding probably the best choice at this time and with conditions and situations like this now belief and patience are the main capital in investing with crypto currencies

In fact, I can not agree with this statement. As before, reliable cryptocurrencies become an excellent solution for long-term investments. Now we need to continue to hold the coins, while prices remain at a minimum level, with the gradual growth from next year.

I do not agree with this statement. Because I think that cryptocurrency in particular can bring a lot, if you generally invest and save everything correctly, because you need to do it, because today it has become very difficult with this.

I agree, but because we lost money, we can't leave the market. I lost more than 50% from January.

what happens in 2017 is just an abuse of the ICO concept when project finish their ICO and list on exchange and do between 2X to 5X even 10X. The recent bear market has brought about sanity into the space has we have seen no project worth asking for $50 million, for me the true value of most of this project is what the market is prcing them
