Is there a chatbox anywhere for Graincoin?
btw, did the net hashrate just jump to 500MH/s?
Well its at 390mh/s! This is not the work a single miner hashing this power just to stockpile some GRA! Could it be GRA finally caught Chinese attention? YES? MAYBE? HOW I LOVE THE SPECULATION

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Does this look correct? I assume these are POS blocks but only 2 have confirmed. Also, why so many all of a sudden?

Super spike in hash rate but not on the pools.
Is it a solo miner with 300 mh or is there a problem maybe?

PoS blocks should be whats causing the rise.

Promoting GRA is the best way to make it gain value quickly.
On the bright side, GRA is so cheap right now that these prices can't hold forever. People are buying GRA. I figure about 1-2% of all GRA in existence have changed hands in the past 24 hrs, and the rate is increasing. Before you get too down on it, check the charts for any new alt coin…low prices usually hold for a few days to a week until the miners finish dumping. Then prices rise. Now is the time to BUY!
This exactly, now is the time to buy it cheap while the miners take some profits. Once that's done the price should rise in a week or two. I've mined and bought it off the exchange but some miners need to cash out to cover their interests. I have faith in the coin and plan on holding long term. The PoS is just a nice bonus.

HOW I LOVE THE SPECULATION There is no 390mh/s hashrate on Grain, the network only sees it due the high amount of PoS blocks in a short time. It is not an issues from PoS And, QT display the wrong network hash rate, Anyway, we need to check after stabled Read this: It's good to see that everyone is waiting for the returning of PoS block generations. I hope everything will be smooth when we pass through the switchover block at 92000 in a day or two (pretty sure it will, as it worked fine in my tests). Now I want to give you an overview of the issues with PoW/PoS so we will have a realistic expectations on the PoS. From my experiences and my observations of many other PoW/PoS coins, the PoW/PoS coins are far less stable than the PoW only coins. The commonly observed problems are: (1). PoW gets jammed (happened to many coins). Many fixed the issue by forking a new blockchain (including GRA), some did not bother to fix (or dev vanished?), like ADT and COL are still in PoS only mode. (2). PoS stopped, like what happened to Grain, this is due to the out of sequence in time stamps. (3). Lots of PoS generation affecting PoW block generation. The issue (3) can be an annoying one. According to current algorithm, the PoW block time can be extended up to 12X the normal time, if there are a lot PoS generated in-between. This is a normal behavior to maintain the overall block time. And we don't expect PoS always generate a lot all the time (it's controlled by its own diff adjusting). Another possible issue with a lot PoS generation is that it might affect PoW diff, and cause orphans (and I still need to check the code to see why - my understanding is that the two diffs are separated). I saw this issue occurred with Lucky7Coin end of last year, it caused a lot of issues in mining (virtually all the mining pools are stopped as 90% are orphans), and most blocks generated were PoS blocks, with some PoW in-between (the PoW generated time increased between 2X to 12X). The problem is gone now after the PoS generation subsides in Lucky7coin.The Grain is based on Lucky7Coin code (mainly to use its superblock generation algorithm), which in turn based on Novacoin/PPCoin. We adjusted many parameters and hopefully the same issue will not occur here. We also have all the fixes from PoW/PoS (like the fix from Balthazar on self-forking). For now we still allow the max PoW generation block time be 12X the normal one if needed. We could change it to less multiples such as 3X used (fixed by a patch in) Novacoin codebase, so it could make the mining of PoW less disruptive. Anyway, just want the community knows the status of PoW/PoS coin in general, and let's hope the Grain will work great

Anyway, just want the community knows the status of PoW/PoS coin in general, and let's hope the Grain will work great It is not an issue of PoS, it is an issue of handling of PoW, PoS/PoW Hybrid means both concept should be work together, Can not disturb the other, If PoS is disturb on PoW, the beginning miner or solo miner can not get block And, what will happen by the time ? It will create the Pool Dominate, And Where is the basic concept of "BlockTime" If want to make PoS affect on PoW on purpose, It should be accounted as differently, such as Block time : variable from 30 ~ 600 seconds (average Seconds) When generate the new coin, it must be fare for all When generate the interest coin, it have a reasonable payout Anyway, it is NOT JUST A ISSUE Of PoS, It is an issue of How handle the PoW/PoS blocks, I do not understand why people keep blame PoS And regards as PoS as the general generation block, And keep copy the old concept and theory, and falling in the same puzzle always, Please, the earth is moving not sun !!! Anyway, It is just started of PoS blocks, And, we have to keep Watching till it will be stabled,

@bosian it looks like we have a fork. One of the block chain explorers is stuck to it and someone continues to PoW mine with the old client: http://coinblockchain.com/grain/However, the PoW difficulty there is not really big, so I hope it is really small percentage of miners.

Both pools stated that they updated to 1.3. could really be that there are some solo miners who didn't update to the latest version.

Hopefully the network hash on this fork is greater. Not that it matters too much. Anyone new to grain will be on the correct fork.

Sorry guys just accidentally started up a miner on the old client. I was going to solo a week or 2 ago and got the latest client then. I didn't realize there was a fork. I was getting some mad coins and decided to look at the forums. I am on the new client now. Sadly not many coins now.
