Putting the pre-mine to one side... I have no idea why any coin developer that is serious about his/her coin does not have a suite of apps ready at launch, at least an e-wallet, android app, iphone app, paper wallets to start. I like the concept of the EarthCoin with or without the pre-mine since I fits my image as an organic vegetable and fruit farmer and seller, but how I am or my customers ever to be able to make any use of this coin without basic e-commerce tools.
I am hoping the dev team use some of those 270,000,000 coins to finance a suite of apps and tools, the sooner, the better and not waste them on giveaways and useless promotions.
If the admin and dev want to contact me for ideas and concepts, do so by PM, I will be happy to use EarthCoin in my businesses, starting tomorrow.
You're darn close to hitting the nail on the head slam into the board.
However, I think you're missing a little bit. I'm a developer with experience on Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, iOS, and Android (not to mention server programming on different platforms). So, I know a little bit about development.
When you say this:
I have no idea why any coin developer that is serious about his/her coin does not have a suite of apps ready at launch, at least an e-wallet, android app, iphone app, paper wallets to start.
It's akin to saying something like:
I don't know what's wrong with all these farmers? Why can't every farmer have their own brand and why can't they all just supply every fruit and vegetable and meat that I want?
That might be a bit easier for you to relate to. Can you imagine trying to farm herbs and fruit and vegetables and... and... and...
Development is a very difficult and time consuming process. You can spend hours or days or however long on a tiny amount of code.
Developing a working application for a new platform is very difficult without an existing code base.
Now, the crypto currency code base is quite large, but the mobile code base is still quite weak.
etc. etc. etc.
And then you need to worry about marketing and persuading people to use your crypto... not an easy task.
I was pretty fucking pissed when Earthcoin was released. It was a fucking disaster. I was in at 0.34 difficulty and had a bitch of a time. I lost hours of mining time as I had to go out and do Christmas shopping (which I think I nailed... we'll see on Christmas morning though...).
So I am more forgiving than most.
But, I'm also a developer with jack all for mining equipment, so if anyone wants to donate a few Earthcoins, I'm not going to be too proud to beg!
efq8FuiF9Jya7CsE3bA2bmaAy8zguoA23HI have mined about 700 coins so far. Sigh... not much...
Stuck with CPU mining and no GPUs to dedicate to it...
In any event, I understand the problems these guys are facing, so, perhaps I'm a bit more forgiving than most. This is a new field, so we can expect mistakes.
