Note to Devs.. PR disaster so far. Failed launch. Bad idea to try and launch a new coin so soon after DOGE which had NO premine with a massive premine which everyone is assuming you will dump at the first opportunity. Either start spreading around your 270 million bankroll OR destroy the coins. If not this coin will be dead by Xmas. We miners are a cynical bunch as WE are paying money via hardware and electricity to mine YOUR coin. If we think we are being conned, like I said, your coin will die a quick death.
The timing - this coin varies with seasons, it's now winter solstice. Extra payouts at 31 days and 14 days - got a lunar calendar handy I'd like to see how this matches up?

Actually it's the summer solstice for me... Well.... OK. But vernal equinox here will be march 20, so is that a payday ? Lunar month is 28 days, the coin pays out every 14 and 31. 31 is a bit disjointed, would be more fun to tack everything strictly down to astronomical cycles - which is an interesting idea for a new coin !!

When you say this: I have no idea why any coin developer that is serious about his/her coin does not have a suite of apps ready at launch, at least an e-wallet, android app, iphone app, paper wallets to start.
It's akin to saying something like: I don't know what's wrong with all these farmers? Why can't every farmer have their own brand and why can't they all just supply every fruit and vegetable and meat that I want? That might be a bit easier for you to relate to. Can you imagine trying to farm herbs and fruit and vegetables and... and... and... Thanks for the great reply. I do know exactly what that is like as I am truck patch farmer and it feels like I am running Old MacDonald's farm some days!!! But is it too much to ask for a coin dev team to have a working, albeit if it is crude and unpolished, system in place for people to use their coin. Every coin I look at has know real value or purpose outside the crypto-community, yet myself and my customer are looking for an alternate currency to use when cash is not convenient. I need a coin that will mature to being close to a $.01, $.10 or at most $1.00 in equivalent value. Bitcoin is useless for every day trading... that bunch of carrots is BTC.012... the customer has no clue how to relate that the dollars and cents without some mental gymnasts that I am barely capable of with the help of a calculator. My preferred coin until EarthCoin arrived was DGC, but with an active dev team, most of the effort is going to trading platforms and exchanges instead of real working apps that we can use everyday. The coin that succeeds will be the coin that can be used to veggies and bread at the corner store. If EarthCoin had a working ecommerce system in place, I could incorporate EarthCoin into my business tomorrow. So to the dev team... put those pre-mine coins to use and get some apps in place now.

So nobody seems to really have an answer how it is possible that this coin is so incredibly difficult to mine? I've been running it for 3+ hours @ 1200kh and I got 4k. That's a bit sad considering the difficulty and all the newness of the coin... Also...check this (not the server I'm mining on, although the one I use also has 90% red statistics...) http://www.defocus.nl/temp/earthcoin.png

Silly time for small talk whilst we are giving to the devs deluxe... BUT... You could always do what my ancestors did and move away from Orkney to a better climate like sunny Australia! I have an Orkney surname. PM me if you are interested. Actually it's the summer solstice for me... release the sun or I'll kill the babies

EarthCoin is a good name. Logo looks great. The developer/promoter has a good marketing and a big following. All good points. I want to believe the good intentions, but the pump/promote business cryptoboomer is does not sit well with the 2% premine. That will be over 60% - 70% of all supply by the time it hits an exchange. A bit hard for me to get over that.
I would like to petition the devs to destroy 70% - 80% of the premined coins. That would prove their intentions without a doubt to me. Please join me in that.
With no original (technology/ feature wise) ideas in all those coins, the name, logo, community, general appeal and marketing is all the differentiation we get.
And EarthCoin has a great chance to excel in all of those. Devs, please let's not destroy the community and the chance the coin have and prove your intentions with your actions.
