Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I agree, either change KGW to block 26825, or donate 10M coins to a multipool. So they can devide it as a bonus for mining the next 29 blocks.
That's the exact amount of coins needed to double the profitability, right? So that would point their multiport at MOON.

Let's just be patient now guys, it's not that easy as all big pools are now running Wallet Version with KGW on block 26850. This would mean re-updating all major pools again and all personal wallets again. Let people have time, not all people sit around crypto-news everyday (like me Cheesy ). Some might have not even realized that there's new MoonCoin wallet.

It should be no more than 5 days from now, which means by the end of the week most likely.

We could do Ralf's suggestion...

And pay some multipoola to help us get to that block!

We have to stick to 26850. We've cracked a few blocks overnight. With about 25 to go, we'll be there in a few days.

Everyone needs to have ample opportunity to upgrade.

Regarding the "tanking" price, miners freaking out, etc: everyone knows KGW is coming, hang in there and we'll crack these blocks and be done with it. Everyone forgets we were at block 26806 when this came out. We're almost to the halfway point after 48 hours. There's no need to panic.

The only panic going on are those fools in the BTC market dumping at the first sign of rocks and shoals, driving the price of BTC down for everyone. Stay the course, I say.

Well, i told you, 26825 was reasonable, 26850 is not, you are screwing your own community. The only people who still mine this are holders who don't want to lose everything. One of the pool operators told you that it takes 10 minutes to upgrade to pool, what's the problem? The price drops, panic sellers destroy the value which means even less motivation to mine after all of this is fixed. Change it to 26830, and send a message to all pool owners as well as update the main page, is that so hard?

I am impatient too for that salvation block 26850 and of course I would love to see it sooner. But let's just train our discipline and patience Cheesy

And I agree with deaconboogie - why panic sell now? So many people dumping this coin, just wait few days before it will be reborn and fully usable again ^^

Anyone panic selling doesn't know what's happening in ~25 blocks. Let people know that the gravity well is coming. There's only so much I can do. Smiley

And the dumpers will start to dump their new coins ASAP. Yeah!!!

Everyone thinks that if the KGW hits in, the price will go up? It's not that simple! Who will buy these new coins?  Huh

I agree with this. Now that KGW is implemented, we need to be thinking about what's next. Mooncoin needs a more definite direction. I can see other new coins doing better because they have a roadmap. On the reddit subforum new posters keep asking what makes Mooncoin different...

So what's the plan? Who is our target market? What do we need to do to find them?

As it is, we don't even have cryptsy listed on the first page of this thread!

The same people that mine/buy any other altcoin... ? The altcoin landscape is rich with many options to choose from. If one coin isn't to your liking, there are others to choose from.

I've been watching the price closely for the past couple weeks. Yes, it has gone down, but nothing huge (considering the severity of the problem.) Does anyone really think that waiting another 5 days is going to do so much damage that, 5 months from now, everything will be lost? If this coin is that weak, it has no future regardless of when the gravity well is implemented.

That said, I think the idea of paying multipool.us 10 million - 20 million moon to accelerate the process is a pretty good idea. If this is possible, I'd be willing to donate 10%. (1 million to 2 million moon.) Anyone else?

deaconboogie - can you please update front pages of MoonCoin? I'll try to list most important:

http://mooncoin.wordpress.com/ - last update 31st December 2013, if one googles MoonCoin, it's like 3rd page. If someone is newbie, he may think, oh, now that's some outdated coin!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.0 - BitcoinTalk forum - please list Cryptsy as exchange there, it's pretty vital I think

Reward: +1 satoshi PERMANENT to price Cheesy (this upgrade can be used only once)
