directbet is a clone to betfair, isnt it?

basically, the business model is to act as a bookmaker in bitcoins and offload the same bets on betfair with a tiny margin.

so when betfair is down, they cant provide odds too

I actually thought something similar, but then I realized that's wrong - in fact both sites are just using the same data feeds.

Both sites are not using the same data since betfair is an exchange bookmaker

many bookmakers use betfair as a benchmark. here it seems they are simply replicating the betfair odds plus a tiny margin

Tip :

If you are concerned that your bet transfer may be delayed by your wallet, and want an option to cancel your bet if it arrives later than planned, we do offer such an option.

You can order a negotiated bet and set the odds to 1000 (unrealistic). Then wait for your bet to arrive.

Once your bet arrives and is set to Negotiate state, if you are no longer interested in the bet, you can cancel it. If and when you are interested in the bet, change the odds to the current odds and your bet will confirm instantly. By doing it this way, you will have full control on when your bet is confirmed, just like you have with deposit books, and with an option to cancel your bet if it arrives late.

If you had accounts and ways to deposit to the account (they could be optional and you could keep the current system as a secondary one) then people wouldn't face this problem anymore and nobody would need to complain about the change of odds during the time it takes for the transaction to register and the system to confirm the bet.

Our automated betting system will be back up shortly and will settle all open bets automatically.

Meanwhile, if your winning bets have not been settled and you don't wish to wait any longer, please e-mail your bet IDs to support@directbet.eu and we will settle them manually.

If your winning bets have not been settled within an hour of the event completion as a result of this down time, we will compensate you with a free 0.01 BTC bet.

Simply order any bet that you like once bets are back up and e-mail support@directbet.eu the free bet ID along with the ID of the bet that did not settle on time. We will then fund your free bet with 0.01 BTC.

Sincere apologies once again.

I sent an email with my 3 bets that didn't pay out last night until after I went to sleep, causing me to miss funds for additional bets. I asked for the .01btc bet to be placed on bet ID: 18re5ZZMAeD5uy4hZas5umLjonsQM7t1fv (BJ Penn over Frankie Edgar).
My email was not answered and the 0.01 btc was not put on this bet for me.
I could PM my email address to you if need be. I sent the email at 10:47am central time and included the transaction details of the 3 bets that were not settled anywhere close to within an hour after the UFC fights last night.

Do you think that Peeps Place has the right to rate Bitcoin Sportbooks, given that those he rates the highest are paying him to advertise and promote them ?

Yes or No ?

Ratings aren't paid for. We put up banners for top books. Our reputation would be hurt if we put up an affiliate banner of a bad book.

We could put up an affiliate banner for every book if we trusted the book. We don't trust DirectBet. Many posters have echoed our feelings of mistrust with DirectBet.

Peeps Place

First, you should disclose that you are getting paid by our competitors to advertise and promote them in forums.

You are getting paid by Anonibet, Cloudbet and Nitrogen, and your ratings guide is a disguised advertisement vehicle for them.

The idea is simple. Rate them on top of all others, set the ratings rules so that no other Sportsbook can be rated higher and make the false impression that they are better than others.

Very clever way to advertise, except that we revealed your scam, provided evidence and kept pressing until you finally admitted that you are indeed getting paid by these books to promote them in forums (although you claimed that the payment is for advertising them in other forums, just not "this forum").

For those of you who are interested, the relevant discussion starts here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.msg6452025#msg6452025

These books also pay to advertise on your forums :

http://www.peepsplace.com/

Recently, DirectBet has become very popular, many clients from the books that you represent moved to bet on our website, and you are trying to get them back by spreading false information on DirectBet.

Second, you never post in your thread any complain on any of the above books that pay you.

There have been many complaints on Anonibet but you keep silent. Just this week someone claims they are holding his 7 BTC withdrawal for more than a week :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=672929.0

CloudBet thread here is full of complaints too.

No word from you on these issues. When you post about the books that pay you, it is just positive news and promotions. This is another evidence that your opinion is biased.

Third, in regards to your recent bets on our website, you have placed many bets with us in the past and you know how it works. You have to send your bet transfer and wait to see if your bet is confirmed or not. This is clearly explained when you order a bet.

Your wallet delayed the transfer of 2 of your recent bets by a few minutes. We can not take responsibility for delays by 3rd parties wallets.

You then asked us to refund your losing bet because you "did not know" it was confirmed. It was your responsibility to wait for your bet confirmations.

We find it unreasonable that you did not know that your bet was confirmed because you placed the exact same bet on the same game 45 minutes later. It is also unreasonable that you were not interested in the bet since you placed it again later. I'm sure you wouldn't have returned your winnings had your bet won.

Perhaps other Bitcoin Sportbooks refund your losing bets because they are afraid you will otherwise reduce their ratings. We don't.

All your bets were processed according to our rules, which are clearly stated on our website. There was no wrong doing on our end.

You are posting false information here on DirectBet on behalf of our competitors whom you work for.

Quote
Peeps Place, the gold standard when it comes to rating bitcoin sportsbooks

Bitcointalk members are not fools. Your ratings are paid for.

Quote
We could put up an affiliate banner for every book if we trusted the book. We don't trust DirectBet.

You asked us many times to pay you in exchange for promoting us in forums, but we declined.

As a result, you reduced our rating from B to C and started spreading false information on DirectBet.

Here is the proof :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.msg6512771#msg6512771

It's time to put a stop to this practice, where hustlers are asking Bitcoin Sportsbooks for payments in order to get a good review and rating, or else they get discredited in forums along with a reduced rating.

Peeps is in a conflict of interests as he is getting paid by some Bitcoin Sportbooks to advertise them on his website and promote them in forums and therefore he does not have the authority or creditability to rate Bitcoin Sportbooks.

Lies again. It's nice to see you back to posting emails. All books ratings were decreased. Posters asked for books to have a top grade based upon time in business. Because of poster request, books in business less than a year were downgraded if they were rated "A" or "B".

Directbet You told me 5 minutes ago that you don't post emails. You asked me for my personal information 5 minutes ago and I'm glad that I didn't give it to you. Don't trust these guys. They stuck it to me by keeping my bet 30 minutes. Now they will come up with an excuse for posting emails.

I PMed you the info you requested DirectBet.

To all who are blasting Directbet, just shut up. Who cares about the whole peep thing or whatever. You make bets, they pay, thats all that matters. The only issue that is truly needing discussion is the major delay between when payments are sent and when live bets are confirmed and the odds they are. All this other stuff is just trolling matter so just stop.

You then lowered it to asking for 1 bitcoin per month. He said no.
Now you are trying to hurt his business.

At one time DirectBet was a good book. The hold was low and they had no problems. Things changed and they became a bad book. We took down their affiliate banner where we were getting paid 1%. Then DirectBet became upset because we took their banner down at Peepsplace and went on a smear campaign.

This bet was prevented from being a winner because of Directbet's problems...now i remember why I stopped betting with Directbet yesterday.

I sent the money within 30 seconds of this bet being offered and chosen at current odds of 1.24 (86th or 87th minute)...

however...it wasn't accepted until 5 minutes later (92nd minute) when the game had less then 1 min to go AND was at 1.02 odds for no goal. The bet would have won...

http://directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=1EwHLtr49ag914divciq2WQT48VzeYr3UC

In defense of Directbet, I did have two bets which were delayed but confirmed at better odds later on and won. Still, this delay problem needs to be fixed immediately.

Get sick. Get well.
