Wow, DirectBet... I have to say I am very, very disappointed Sad

I just created a toto parlay and sent in the BTC. Right after I sent the BTC I refreshed the page and it said that it was closed and that no more bets could be made. I was sad, but it was fine because I would just get the refund. It has happened before (when the bet would have won - I wasn't pissed because too late is too late and I should not have won). Ten seconds after I sent the money one of the bets on my parlay lost, and I refreshed again just to make sure. Still closed. I was happy that my bet would get cancelled and that I would get a refund... after 5 minutes I decided to refresh again to see if the bet was returned yet, and.... all of a sudden it said that my money was received and that the bet was open and accepted.

I feel cheated out of the money. If the toto was already closed, it should not have accepted my money AFTER the parlay already lost. I've had this happen with winning parlays before and then the bet remained CLOSED (which, as I said, was fine because I was too late. But now that it's a losing parlay you open the bet back up again? Wow...)

I have done business with you before, but this is unacceptable in my eyes. I really hope that you guys will solve this in a timely and professional matter. If there was some mistake that is fine, but the fact that my bet went from 'Closed' back to 'Open' right after my parlay lost is extremely sketchy and disappointing in my eyes.

Where do we go from here?

EDIT: DirectBet gave me a refund and a free bet. Very satisfied, props to them.

I had a similar experience. I placed a bet, then I went to the status and it said that the odds had changed and the bet wasn't accepted. The next day I checked and DirectBet counted it as a loser. They showed me that the bet was accepted 7 minutes after my bet had been placed. I didn't know this until the next day. I hope that you have better luck than I did trying to rectify the situation.

Glad I'm not the only one.
Did they refund the bet to you? If this is a bug in their automated software, that's fine as long as they settle it. I am not pissed yet, just disappointed. If they decide not to refund the bet, my feelings about this website will change drastically.

I sent them a PM the next day and they refused to refund the bet.

I sent them a PM the next day and they refused to refund the bet.

That's terrible. Especially since they do keep the parlays closed when it's a winner, but open it back up if it's a loser.
I am not going to judge the website yet until I get a response. We will have to see how legit and professional they are, but your post did not give me a lot of hope.

EDIT: DirectBet gave me a refund and a free bet. Very satisfied, props to them.

Follow-up on my earlier problem:

DirectBet has checked it and told me that the bet was, indeed, confirmed incorrectly. They said:
"What happened is that one of your Toto ~ Parlay bets was on a correct score of 1-1 during in-play in a soccer game and the result changed to 1-2 exactly at the same time while your bet was processed.
This appears to be a very rare bug and it is the first time we have encountered it. It will get fixed later on today."

I got a refund and a free 0.03 BTC bet (which is very nice since the original bet was about 0.06 BTC).

Handled professionally and timely. Very satisfied with this, props to DirectBet. I will update all of my previous posts so people can see this.

Hahhahah I like the poll question

I wouldnt worry about peeps place. Anyone that spends money at these books knows better than to listen to one guys personal preference. I wouldn't be surprised if he was being paid to endorse anonibet

That being said.

Directbet is legit. Only bitcoin sportsbook I have see that offers live lines with the variety of sports

Super awesome book. Will continue to support. If you make the site more pleasing to the eye, I'm sure you would get even more customers!

Anyway, keep being awesome!

You sure do stroke DirectBet. It's beyond pathetic. How much are they paying you? It's obvious and you aren't fooling anyone. You're in 5 different threads stroking DirectBet. You're also in 5 different threads bashing Anonibet and peepsplace. Many books have live lines with much better odds. My bet was held up 30 minutes at Direct Bet.

Uhhhhh I stroke them? Yea I'm a paid endorser for sure bro.

I posted one review in RyanK thread about them. Yup all over them. LOL relax dude. You work for peeps place?

Yes Peeps Place is getting paid by Anonibet to advertise and promote them in forums and websites.

We proved it and Peeps admitted it in public :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.msg6512771#msg6512771

To his defense, Peeps Place is claiming that this payment is to advertise and promote Anonibet in "other" forums but not here on Bitcointalk and that it does not affect his judgment when rating Bitcoin Sportbooks.

However, in his ratings guide, Anonibet is rated on top, isolated from all the others, while in RyanK users ratings thread, Anonibet is rated at the bottom.

For this reason, we have a poll here on top of this thread.

Do you think that Peeps Place has the creditibility to rate Bitcoin Sportbooks, given that those he rates the highest are paying him to advertise and promote them ?

Please take a moment to vote. Thanks in advance.

Once again we apology for the inconvenience this has caused.

Peeps Place, there was no problem with your bet on our end. It was your shared web wallet that delayed the transfer by 7 minutes. Your bet was then processed properly and in accordance with our rules as soon as it was received, and we clearly state in our website that after you send your bet, you have to wait for it to arrive and then check whether it was confirmed or rejected.

For time sensitive bets and to avoid similar delays in the future, please use the official Bitcoin Core client.

As you can see in the archive of this thread, we have no problem admitting when there is an error in our system.

When that happens, we fix it immediately and compensate the player who brings it to our attention.

As you may recall, one of your bets in the past was supposed to be "half win" due to the dead heat rule, but since the dead heat rule was not properly clarified on our website at the time, we awarded you with the full double payout. That was an extra 0.679 BTC in your pocket from DirectBet !

Once again, there was no problem with this particular bet as I have already explained to you in great details along with the necessary evidence.

We at DirectBet sympathies with those of you who apparently lost their deposits and investments with the disappearance of BitcoinLiveBets.com

To date, there hasn't been a single cryptocurrency Sportsbook that we are aware of, which ceased operation gracefully and honored all withdrawal requests.

All the Bitcoin Sportsbooks that were closed in the past, with no exceptions, ran away with users deposits, and every time that happened, it hampered the reputation of the Bitcoin sports betting industry as a whole. (Note : Bitbook did pay out its users for several days after closing, but not all of them).

The purpose of this post is not to spread salt on the wounds of those affected but rather to raise the point that in today's new virtual currency era, there is absolutely no need for a Sportsbook to take deposits and hold your coins while they are not being wagered.

The "My Account" -> "Deposit" type of wagering belongs to the 90s.

Today, you can bet with your coins and keep them safe in your wallet under your control while they are not in a wager.

No longer do you need to park your valuable coins on 3rd party websites and hope that they will be there when you need them.

bitbook.biz was the most reputable sportbook before it was targeted by DDOS.

They gave everyone time to withdraw funds, before they closed down for good.

Just wanted to correct that piece of misinformation.

Taking deposits is a much better method for players than with what is currently being used by DirectBet. Bit365 was a book similar to DirectBet. Bit365 went under stealing player's funds. They were a non-deposit book.

The biggest downfall with using a non-deposit book is that you are at the mercy of transfer time between your wallet and DirectBet. Bets can be held for hours, using the worst case scenario, with a non-deposit book. During this time you do not know if you have a bet or not. If you use "firm odds", there is no way to cancel your wager. With deposit books, you get close immediate responses.

There is also never a need to keep a huge balance in a bitcoin deposit book. After winning a wager you can take the winnings and put it back in your wallet after a win. One advantage that DirectBet has is if you aren't funded with another book. The only other advantage is that they have many live wagering events albeit odds with outrageous theoretical holds.
