Can you explain why sometimes it takes forever to say you received the bet? It's very frustrating with live betting. Blockchain recorded my bet at 6:25, but it still hasn't been confirmed or assigned odds 7 minutes later. 20 minutes this is ridiculous. The match will be decided before the bet gets processed and there is no way for me to cancel out. I just have to accept whatever you give me when you decide to accept the bet? This is unnacceptable :-/

Apparently this transaction has a very small output and is none standard and therefore the transfer is delayed. Your bet will be processed as soon as the transfer is received. For time sensitive bets and for immediate bet confirmations please use the official Bitcoin Core client or its lighter version MultiBit. You will not encounter any delays and your bets will be transferred and confirmed instantly when using the official wallets. Alternatively, you can deposit first and then place the bet with immediate confirmation, just like you can with deposit books. This has happened to me on a few occasions with DirectBet. I bet in game for the world cup and the match was over by the time my "pending" bet was accepted. Luckily, I won the bet but the odds were much worse than they were 15 minutes before I placed the bet |

I've switched to using a wallet I've created at blockchain.info, as DirectBet recommends above, and so far no delays. Coinbase has other issues as well which make me uncomfortable. I would recommend using a wallet from blockchain.info which is cloud based, or finding a highly recommended wallet to use that is based on your own computer. Yes, when you bet in-play and may not necessarily want the bet if it can not confirm instantly. By "time sensitive" are you referring to LIVE bets? Had no idea you could deposit to DB so I may check that out.
It's not a typical "My Account -> Deposit" per se but rather a way to place the bet in two steps. First deposit and then get it confirmed instantly. This allows you to cancel the bet if the deposit was delayed for any reason. |
