As soon as Poloniex reopened, XCP reappeared on coinmarketcap!
And rank of XCP is 10 now, still going up.

I just did a push. Please update. - update for counterpartyd 6.1 - adding a passphrase field - Adding a confirmation before each transaction (temporary, it is planned to make a dialog box that summarizes the parameters of the transaction) https://github.com/JahPowerBit/BoottleXCP

I see a "brew" command in the setup instructions but I apparently don't have whatever software that is. I do have python and all the other counterpartyd dependencies installed.

To be honest, I'm quite surprised and delighted at how everyone is taking this and handling it. I was half-expecting all hell to break loose when I said that we're going to have to assume the BTC is lost for now. Someone asked which address contains the 115 BTC the hacker took. You can see everything here: https://blockchain.info/address/134V1Rt8tBtz7RuydzBtvfuNNfyHmDCHSpTwo questions for the community: 1. 2.5% trading fee? That's huge--is everyone really okay with this? It would only apply to BTC/XCP. 2. I feel that getting the exchange back up soon is a good idea, so we can start to put this behind us. But someone has suggested waiting a few weeks. Which one do people favor? New security measures on Poloniex will prevent a similar exploit from having any impact, although if the XCP were stolen from a place other than Poloniex and put into Poloniex, a person could still get away with it, provided they made deposits gradually. There is also a 50 BTC minimum daily withdrawal. That fee sounds perfectly reasonable. I think we need to restart trading ASAP. Being down for days is bad enough; if we are down for weeks it could be devastating. There is this rumor going around that bitcoin and counterparty are also peer to peer...

Just got a suggest from my friend: During a transaction a hacker compromised the deal, there is no reason that a small group of people assume all the liability of the entire incident. I would suggest that all the accounts should be unsuspended, with limitations placed on withdrawls, but allowing them to view all the information and trade.

Deposits and withdrawals are not working right now for XCP on Poloniex. Apparently, the API method to send XCP (formerly do_send) has been changed, and I can't find what it was changed to. If anyone knows, pass the info along.

As soon as Poloniex reopened, XCP reappeared on coinmarketcap!
Hurray - the exchange is back-up! Our community is much stronger and more resilient now! Our devs have shown great leadership! The 2.5% trading fee is a good solution! Busoni has earned our trust! We've developed some awesome new ideas, eg. Bug Bounty Program, XCP Lottery, and Wall of Fame. This community rocks! We've solved a very complex problem! I am so proud to be a part of it! All those who pledged to donate, please keep the donations flowing in! Viva la revolucion!!!

It was always on it. It was just at the bottom of the ranks with question marks for the information. Since poloniex wasn't sending info.

Can't find any quickstart guide, so maybe someone can point me here. I've downloaded the installer, and everything was made correctly, I am only not sure about what should I use as rcp passwords etc... What to do next? I've tried to run the exe file, but I am getting only "counterpartyd: error: too few arguments" message when trying to run it.

hi busoni can you consider this suggestion: all the accounts should be unsuspended(group of people assume all the liability of the entire incident), with limitations placed on withdrawls, but allowing them to view all the information and trade . that also increase the income to you website from trading fee

Impressive work guys.
I also believe the increased trading commission was the best decision. Very smart. The question is how much do you take back? The community and your exchange should share the loss imo.

So I think if I understand the proposal it is to selectively freeze the withdrawal capabilities for the sub-set of wallet addresses on Poloniex that accumulated ill-gotten gains during the hack. Make them stay put and trade! Just like Mt. Gox! haha I quite like this idea, +1 from me.

Yes, I feel the same way Wit22, the community members who pledged donations should still follow thru, and Busoni should be pledging a bit here too is my personal bias, although he has been silent on this point so far.
