Congratulations to the CP team,
Few questions please:
1) in a new coindesk article it says that all 3 of you are moving away from the CP project and that an entire team is being sought. is it true or is it just two?
2) Is Medici going to be built based on the CP technology or on top of and as part of the CP platform? this is important to determine if this is really related or not to CP
3) what is the usage of XCP in this context? is the plan for it to still be the exclusive dividend token for medici and all its public companies as in all other projects?
Thank you
FF (still holding on to my originally burned XCPs)
Just going to answer these until Adam or other official representative comes by.
1. Adam is staying at Counterparty full time. Robby and Evan are going to be spending much of their time with Overstock in their new roles there. I would imagine they will still be somewhat involved in the day to day of Counterparty, but that's for them to answer. Regardless, the Overstock project is so good for Counterparty, that if Robby and Evan spent all their time on it, it would be hard to say they were not working full-time on Counterparty. It's hard to think of more important work other than direct protocol development, which I'm sure is still very much a priority.
2. It's going to be built on Counterparty and as part of the Counterparty platform.
3. XCP will be used in a similar context to how it's used now. To facilitate trades, create assets, and so on. Dividends can be paid in any currency, however, XCP is good to facilitate trades with.
This is the best news we could hope for. The most meaningful traction we could ask for. A deep partnership with a visible, powerful man who shares a very similar ideology to the Counterparty project, its community, and founders. This should certainly get the attention of Reddit should they move forward with their plan to give back 1% of Reddit equity to community members.
This is the best article so far:
