p2pool.cachecoin.org down for maintainance will be back shortly
http://p2pool.cachecoin.org:8336/ is working fine

hi is wallet 5.2 fixed and ready for download yet ?

Windows? seems to work for some people and not for others. Before updating, i suggest you backup the current exe, and you MUST delete C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\CACHeCoin\blk*.dat and copy wallet.dat to a safe place. Then try the new binaries.

Why the change in the files in the wallet.  I now see this in the program folder "cachecoind.exe" instead of the lib*.dat files?  And does the update mean I have to start a restake on coins that haven't already staked..do I have to wait anothe 7 days for unstaked coins to stake?

For the last time, COIN AGE IS COUNTED FROM WHEN YOU RECEIVED THE TRANSACTION, wallets do not control the age of the coin, the try to mine the stake.. cachecoind.exe is the command line version of the wallet.
Just delete C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\CACHeCoin\blk*.dat and open the new cahecoin-qt.exe

Today I went into the IRC channel and attempted to offer my services to help this coin get some exposure and grow because it seems to have some kind of potential being that it is accepted by Fibinoci ASIC maker as payment for a discount, as well as being a scrypt-jane coin.

I am heavily involved with Digitalcoin and love that coin, always will. But I wanted to get involved and help out where I could. After telling them how much I had recently purchased I was basicly snubbed off and told that what i bought didn't matter, as if I was asking for some kind of special treatment.

All I wanted to do was offer my services (web development, PoS system integration, and maybe purchasing some promotional ads and whatnot). I admit that I have been having a bad week with personal stuff and may have been a bit hostile after being somewhat disrespected. But I feel that this is a very inapropriate response from a coin that is trying to gain a community following. So I will be selling off my coins and not planning on doing much with this coin in the future.

I wish all of you the best, but genuinely hope that you guys change your attitude toward the people trying to get involved in a bigger way than just "buying a few coins and waiting for someone else to do the work". I was severely disapointed with the reception I received.

The log can be found here:  http://pastebin.com/iByimdxx

I don't care how people want to view me, I know I can be a massive asshole, this isn't news. I just want the rest of you to know that management of this coin needs to accept the fact that they can't disrespect the people that are investing in their coin/community.

Thanks

We are sorry that you felt mistreated. But this attitude, i have no respect for. Thanks for selling off the coins. More people can have the chance to obtain them cheap.
If anyone wishes to help, please do, we're glad to get help. But if you come here claiming you have power and are buying respect, then this is no place for you.

Oh i wont be selling them off cheap. But I wouldnt plan on having your price go up to far anytime soon. And I came in with almost zero attitude, your tone and the way you guys treated me turned my attitude sour. Instead of trying to say its my fault, why don't you admit your mistake and apologize for being so rude?

Also i never said i was buying your respect, or that I was throwing my power around. I was asked questions on how I see the world, and I awnsered them. If you can't figure out the difference between answering a question and someone coming out and threatening you, then no wonder you haven't grown in numbers or interest.

Hm ... Being 5% powerful doesn't sound like much to me... Quite easy for the other 95% to absorb it when Rawdawg "single handedly put the price of the coin down so far it wont recover"... Heck, I'm tiny, but will be happy to pickup any more CACHE if I can, so please go right ahead!

I don't know mrpj, but based on that chat log, kudos to you sir. I don't think I would have been able to keep things as polite as you did.

Joining you all for popcorn!

Dude, we have cut you a lot of slack and have been respectful with you from the beginning on.
If you go over the log, it's quite easy to spot your attitude!

Here are a couple of gems from the chatlog:

Quote
21:32 <Rawdawg-1> Some people have called me a "whale" but i only use my "powers" for good lol
21:36 <mrpj> Rawdawg-1: you are not the only one with a large stack of coins ;-)
21:36 <Rawdawg-1> yea but im probably the only one that owns between 5 - 10% of 7 different coins lol
21:36 <Rawdawg-1> popular coins too
21:37 <Rawdawg-1> but im not here to measure weiners, just to let you know you have a new community member really
21:38 <mrpj> don't flatter yourself too much - it's like a gentleman does - never kiss and tell ;-). It's great that you wish to support the community - but it does never matter what amount of coins a person has when he is dedicated to support a community
21:38 <mrpj> but if you see yourself in the position of wanting to promote projects or whatever - please feel free to do so
21:39 <Rawdawg-1> yea but i was kinda hoping for a better reception from you guys since i did just spend around 10k$ on your coins...
21:42 <mrpj> I am frank and upfront honest - it does not matter what amount a person has to be involved - anyone with 0.0000001 CACHe is as welcome as anyone with 200k CACHe - why should we make a difference?
21:43 <Rawdawg-1> because the guy buying 15k coins has more to lose than the guy with 0.000001
21:44 <Rawdawg-1> and if you guys cant see that fact then maybe i made a mistake investing
21:44 <Rawdawg-1> This is capitalism, not socialism, everyone is not equal, the guys with the most money are the most important, period

Quote
21:44 <Rawdawg-1> This is capitalism, not socialism, everyone is not equal, the guys with the most money are the most important, period
21:45 <mrpj> I forgot to read the page on the cachecoin website that says that anyone with a majority share has a VIP card
21:46 <Rawdawg-1> ok, well thanks for making your priorities clear to me then
21:46 <mrpj> my priorities
21:46 <Rawdawg-1> are you the dev or part of the dev team?
21:46 <mrpj> by far I am not talking for anyone else than myself - and I will never do so if not explicitly asked to do
21:47 <Rawdawg-1> do you have ANY power in this community? or do you make any decisions on behalf of Cachecoin?
21:48 <mrpj> do you?
21:48 <Rawdawg-1> i have a lot of power, right now i can single handedly put the price of the coin down so far it wont recover

or here is another one
Quote
21:54 <mrpj> wether or not I am related to the coin I am freely to voice my opinion..
21:54 <mrpj> I have given you ideas on where to support the community
21:54 <Rawdawg-1> yes, your opinion is hurting this coin at this point
21:54 <mrpj> by voicing out your support
21:54 <mrpj> no my opinion is hurting your ego
21:54 <Rawdawg-1> you are a socialist
21:55 <Rawdawg-1> "everyone is equal" is bullshit
21:55 <Rawdawg-1> especially in this market

kalgecin has provided you with the full log - so please reread it again.
Also duly noted, kalgecin has told you twice that he is sorry that you feel the way you feel. What else do you expect?

To clarify on my point of view once more:
For me it does not matter what investment a person has to be involved with the CACHecoin community - if its 0 CACHe or 200k CACHe - everyone is welcome to help and do so freely. I will support anyone that wants to get involved and contribute. And I do not see the point of pushing one's person interest over the whole community.

That is my 0.02 CACHe - if the community and the developer(s) see it differently, please let me know. But as I said, I spoke from my point of view and never claimed anything but my own opinion.

Last but not least:
Rawdawg looking at your post history - there has been post were you ask one person to not hurt the community if the person has a personal vendetta - how are you now in any way different than this person by threatening to kill the market?

Really? Cut me a lot of slack from the begining?

You were the one being an asshole to the guy trying to introduce himself, let you know where he stood on the coin, and eventually turning him away from your coin with disgust in how you treat people that want to get involved.

And I am not threatening to hurt your community, all I am doing is trying to get my money back with a small return. If you don't want me to make money then I guess you are just further confirming the communist/socialist environment you put forward in that chat.

Also you really should have said something like "I am not the developer or in any position of power" when someone comes into an official IRC and sees 14 people total (absolutely noone has Ops or Voice), and the first and only person to talk to him starts acting like an ass to him, he is going to assume that you are someone "important" (in terms of that IRC)

So maybe if its YOUR opinion, say that before you voice it, not later on when you've pissed that person off.

Manners go a long ways to getting respect from other people.
Point out a single instance/sentence where someone was "an asshole" to you. There is not one.

Take the chat log and ask any person outside of the crypto world to read it, and ask their opinion on the tone and manners by which you conduct yourself.
If you still don't get it, I'm sorry, it appears you're too far gone!  Roll Eyes

I'll step out from this now. My apologies for feeding this rather pointless discussion.

One last thing for now, the difference between this situation and that situation is that your entire community basicly told me to fuck myself instead of finding a solution, also I am not threatening your community or killing the market, I am also not going to let you get away with being a total fuckwad  and telling me its my fault either. Grow up and come hang out with the big boys, or gtfo.

Thats pretty fucking ignorant talking to someone that just invested a bunch of money into something.

Then he goes on to basicly say "if you are rich than 15,000$ isnt a big deal anyways"

Guess what, it is a big deal, 100$ is a big deal, 5$ is a big deal, if I invest money into someones coin/community I expect to get some respect at the very least. Not shit on

Edit: thats one of the reasons i love Digitalcoin so much, when i came in and bought just a few, i was treated with respect, when i asked what i could do to help, respect, noone ever treated me like they didnt care if i was there or not, The people involved with Digitalcoin understand that treating the people right is everything.

Actually I don't want to feed the discussion anymore - if you have a problem with the way I (note I, mrpj) acted, than talk to my via private message or irc.

But here is my last answer in this thread to you - since it is offtopic by now.

Quote
And I am not threatening to hurt your community, all I am doing is trying to get my money back with a small return. If you don't want me to make money then I guess you are just further confirming the communist/socialist environment you put forward in that chat.

Voicing out that you can "single handedly put the price of the coin down so far it wont recover" has nothing to do with making money - it is a thread and not even a thread against me but against the community and the coin. I might loose some coins because of your actions, but I don't care, I still support the coin and the community.

Then he goes on to basicly say "if you are rich than 15,000$ isnt a big deal anyways"

Guess what, it is a big deal, 100$ is a big deal, 5$ is a big deal, if I invest money into someones coin/community I expect to get some respect at the very least. Not shit on
For someone who is claiming to be a millionaire, 15k USD is the same amount as for someone with a normal earning who invested 0.15 USD ...
So actually the person with 0.0001 CACHe might loose as much as the person with 15k CACHe ... (please reread - I wrote might)

Then again - before you wrote on irc the person with a lot of coins (money) has power and the ones with less coins don't. But now you write 5USD is a big deal .. for me your answers are inconsistent...

It all just seems to me as a personal vendetta and therefor I ask you to move it away from this thread to a dedicated thread or channel.

Edit:
If you feel more comfortable in a different community, then by all means please support that community. That is one of the reason why we have different communities/coins - everyone finds their cup of tea

I find this downright anecdotal... What you consider to be someone else insulting you, I consider to be someone else treating you with a level of politeness well above what would be reasonable for the context. I figure I have enough "millions" IRL, and I don't see how that entitles me to be arrogant and obnoxious to anyone else.
Thanks for the edit, I finally see what's going on.

Edit: In case you're wondering, my views are mine and mine alone. You cannot have them, you cannot borrow them, but I can sell them to you cheap (CACHE discount available).  Cheesy

You are very obviously not a person with any kind of respect or ability to exist in a world with other people. You really think its a good thing to compare my loss vs my net worth to the loss of someone on that has almost nothing? Losing money does not scale, just because I have a lot of money, that means its OK for me to lose 15,000$? No fucking wonder the economy is taking a shit, people like you think the rich people should lose more because they have more, when in reality it doesn't work that way.

As for this "personal vendetta" thing you guys keep bringing up, this is nothing more than an excuse you are using for yourselves to take any guilt off of your community for acting like assholes and fucking up what could have been a great business relationship. So call it a "personal vendetta" or whatever you want, but the truth is you idiots acted like children, and now you are trying not to look like children.

Welcome to the big boy club. As I said in IRC, you should treat people with respect so they will help you, not like shit. You never know who might be serious with their "threats" (as you call them).

You did not seriously write that money or losses do not scale? Someone who can barely afford to buy bread looses a lot more with 0.15USD compared to someone with millions. So YES i can compare and YES it can scale...

And I kindly ask you to refrain from assuming what I might think. I have not written any statement related to rich people need to loose more money. Please stick with what I have written and solely discuss on these points. (I highly doubt that you have psychic abilities and can read my mind!)

And again - please read - I am the only person that has written something about a personal vendetta - and so far in nearly all of the conversations you have pointed your finger at me. So I am very well allowed to assume its a personal thing - but please tell me differently, I might have missed the point were others talked about a vendetta.

And again I take full responsibility for my actions - which apparently does not seem the other way around.

I'd like to raise a different angle for you - the great business opportunity is not only for the community, it is also for you. It would either benefit both sides, or both sides would loose ... so please keep the blame game at your own hands and start accepting that some people do not appreciate your behavior and your way of "great businesses"

Rawdawg-

Do you seriously believe that threatening people leaves a good impression about you? Do you really think people appreciate a person that throws around threats? Do you think any community appreciates if their members easily loose it and throw around threats?

As for me - I have zero tolerance towards people who threaten me. I don't care who you are, what you think of yourself or anything - as soon as you start with threats you have lost all credibility towards me and at no point can I respect you.

Go over the past comments in this thread - I have been treating you well above any level of respect a person with your actions deserve!

(Now I am just waiting that the community bashing will begin ...)

E: I am finally out of this talk - I will not in any sense any longer feed the conversation in here. Move it somewhere else and I will contribute - but skip offtopic stuff here!
