Jumping in with multipool issue. I personally voted for adding 1 week to the block maturation. But looking at the exit-poll - majority prefers no changes! WTF, multipool owners overvote the Vertans?

Another thing - are there only 95 VertVoters (according to 2014, July 25)?

I voted for 3 days, but I think in retrospect no change is better. Inconveniencing multipools almost by definition means inconveniencing all miners, and with the way the network hashrate has been decreasing since the release of Monocle, I think the last thing we want to do is make things tougher on miners, multipool or not.
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I voted for no change because I don't think it will help the issue at all, while it certainly will cause greater mining centralization.

for people like me that are not reddit fanboys....

NEWS:

https://vertcoin.org/pow-algorithm-upgrade-lyra2/

I knew you would not be able to wait till 0.0001. Wink  Welcome back. Smiley

With the change in algo to Lyra2, we essentially moving to a new coin - Vertcoin 2.0?  With an introduction of Vertcoin 2.0 that is a FIRST in this new algo, will it come with a mad rush to get the shiny new coins?  Who is buying up/accumulating?

Very few coins actually have devs that know what they are doing. These guys know what they are doing, they just need to figure out the best direction, then work can start.

I'm of the same opinion. Very few coins have devs that know what they're doing. Do you think that perhaps we should start an independent thread one of these days with a list on the OP?

. . . not that it would be easy by any means - opinions without factual events, incidents, interchanges, etc., that serve to justify those opinion are meaningless . . .

It might be worth it though as it could become one of the most entertaining and interesting reads on BitCoin Forum. Wink

Good news.

But what do devs who value reddit more than BitCoinTalk indirectly tell us?

(This is not an isolated case either.)

1: it doesn't mean anything

2: Why exactly do you think BTC talk is inherently the only defacto forum to conduct communication

3: The simple and basic reason is that there is far more volume with reddit and the 5000+ readers than here which has the same ~30 people posting.

Still need 4 months to roll this Lyra2  out. So, the price will continue going down before that? Will be under 0.0001?

On the other hand, it may be too late to get into the 'game' by then.   Who knows?

Yacoin was the first Scrypt N coin.

The only difference was the starting N factor.

Fucking noobs.

There are a lot of coins, myriads of coins of all colors, animals, etc. Who the hell in a right mind can remember everything?

I would like to see those scrypt-N asics like flowertech, lightningasic, blissdevices crying and begging for no change here because their overpriced miners even if it can reliably mine scrypt-N will be useless then we could all harras them i mean motivate them to make lyra asic LOL.. Roll Eyes

If it's all possible maybe the devs could tweak the algorithm that is optimal at 50% GPU load. That is going more than 50% will yield lower hashrate. X11 is succesful because it is cool. It's not a problem if you live far from the equator as winter or spring will take care of the temps. There are miners around the equator too and heat is constant all year long.

The simple and basic reason is that there is far more volume with reddit and the 5000+ readers than here which has the same ~30 people posting.

"5000+ readers"

...with a collective IQ that doesn't reach that same number.  Shocked

"~30 people posting"

...which often means that there's actual intelligence being expressed and the multitude of readers get their answers before having to post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

...and the idiots think twice before posting crap.

Add: so in reference to my first question/allusion on the matter, if a Dev gives more importance to reddit than BitCoinTalk, then

1) he/she is afraid of the technical level inherent in BitCoinTalk
2) he/she is frivolous, juvenile and only interested in being "virtually" popular (i.e. "liked")
3) he/she is not interested in serious intellectual interchange regarding coin development
4) all the above

(Now you have the full version of my original tongue-in-cheek humor - please show your intelligence when responding.)

Both sites have their trolls and both have their intelligent discussions. Most people participate in both forums. You should go pull that stick out of your ass.
