ok thanks, but 50 coins per block, 24 blocks per hour, 24 hrs/day, launched 13 days ago... means 374400 coins
so the constat increase in hash rate made the "time per block" 50 seconds on average, instead of 150...

in november 2015 when vertcoin switches to N=8192 there will be a *huge* drop in hash rate. cpus will continue to mine, while gpu will be useless suddenly.
that will cause confirmation times go to the moon, because hashrate will drop thousands of times suddenly.

ok maybe the new cards like r9 290 will be able to mine until N=16384, but this will only postpone the problem.

start thinking about the kimoto gravity well, it will be necessary even without multipools jumping in....

I think N should be also related to or proportional to the difficulty or something else, but do not adjust it artificially such as by hands or according to the timestamps. Too large N kills every hardware.

Haha, why do you think so? Vert coin is gaining popularity.. slowly, but steadily..

What else can we want? Its no some scam hype pump and dump coin... in month there will be 100x more people into this coin.. the are just lazy and happy with doge mining, but once they realize its just another scrypt coin and that value lies somewhere else, everyone with brain will switch to vert coin..

Well said, I think 2 years from now, ATI and Nvidia will come up with the new GPU cards with higher memory.

Vertcoin has a good promise that is to render asic miner useless.
I hope the devs keep on that promise and make it a GPU mineable coin forever.
No to ASIC miner and No to CPU-miner.

I'll have to agree with the people calling for a faster difficulty retarget, it's the one thing this coin needs fixed to be a bulls-eye in my book. Also a hardfork at this stage is better than a hardfork when we're at 3 exchanges with 16 times the current volume and hashrate.

While saying that, I'm still fully behind this coin and believe it has a bright future ahead of it. Especially once the ASICs become more widespread.

Well, no the 6990 is 2x2Gb cards in one.r9 290 has double memory per gpu chip.
Vertcoin, sure they increase a bit the memory but not exponentially. And we want everybody to mine, not just those who can afford the new high-end cards, otherwise it's useless, and its the same as having asics...

Well, if anything is worth mining with your card, it is Vertcoin - depends what "worth" mining means, but if you forsee the kind of future I do for VTC, then certainly, I would say mining it is "worth" it.

Is there a trick to CPU mining?  I am using the modified CPUMiner and getting accepted shares in the miner but they are not showing up as accepted or rejected in the pool, I have tried LA.VERTCOIN.ORG and NY.VERTCO.IN.  I am familiar with ALT Coin mining and yes I do have the correct username and password set in my .bat

There is big mess in scrypt coins these days.. new launches are comming daily and it seems to me uninnovative alts are kinda loosing its value with every new coin, this is not the case of vert.. value rising hardly even though bitcoin falling, litecoin falling, doge coin falling

I have GTX 550 Ti and i'm getting around 37kh. So I guess you won't be able to get out much more.
