Anyone have problems with their rig crashing when on p2p? After about 5 minutes my rig crashes if I use the p2p instead of pool, but the pool keeps disconnecting every few minutes.

I'm using hashtags #VTC and #Vertcoin for all my tweets and  am trying to link back to the original post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.msg4377061#msg4377061 where space allows in my tweets (only 140 characters allowed!). You can use a site like Bitly.com to shorten a URL so it takes up less characters. Just paste the long link into the Bitly shorten box and you get a compressed link back for example http://[Suspicious link removed]/1bkomYO which when you click on it takes you to the original website link.

Including the #Vertcoin and #VTC tags in your tweets and retweets builds up a pattern of interest in the Vertcoin and VTC topics. If we get enough volume we will hopefully see Vertcoin "trending" and the mainstream media will then have no option but to pay attention!

I like the blog idea Max, would you be willing to champion it?

That is a member or members of the community focus on a particular media stream e.g @Moonbat4 for Twitter, Max for the blog ANother for facebook ANother2 for reddit ANother3 for xxxx and we have our PR guru writing the copy, FAQs, soundbites etc to use.

Sounds good moonbat, will have a look at setting it up in next few days, could do with some contributors to keep the posts varied, but am sure we can get some volunteers! :-) could also do with thinking up a domain name also i guess?

Fab! Just some thoughts to put out there for consideration. Would it be a great place to consolidate all of the news & media reports that have mentioned Vertcoin over the past month? That might well be a good place to start for each blog post, concentrating on one news article for each post, a precis, or critique. Also, Aleks and Vertcoin have been interviewed for articles, so maybe some future posts could reinterview them and other members of the community, maybe take an experienced miner who has come to Vertcoin, a newbie, a pool operator, someone who has bought in, a techie etc etc and get different perspectives.

Hey fellow verters!

Ofcourse we're all very happy about the current rise of Vertcoin. We've been the fastest rising coin for 3 days in a row now with the 24h increase reaching as high as 357% earlier  today!
And since you're all reading this i'm convinced you know everything about the awesome features Vertcoin has to offer when you compare them to LTC for example.

But after reaching this much volume the rise probably hold for a while in a few days. And this is we're we (the community) should come in. We've got to start organising things to make people able to use VTC for practical purposes other than speculating on the value of the coin. We need to start Recruiting people with extensive technical knowledge to create trade platforms, we need people with a marketing background to keep promoting this coin by actively writing well-constructed articles about it's benefits in comparison to other coins. What we also need is people with graphical skills, creating infographics, banners, t-shirts and what not. And ofcourse we need to get more miners to get the network even more stable.

To get all these things done we'll need well-educated people willing to dedicate alot of their time to this coin. To attract these kind of people i suggest we start a marketing & promotion fund to make sure we can compensate these people for their time and dedication to our project.

Now to start i've got a few ideas wich i think can help this coin to get on it's way to replacing LTC or what the heck, even BTC.

Websites

Currently there isn't really a way to actually spend and use your vertcoins. A platform should be developed to do all kinds of things with your coins, exchange for BTC/LTC and even directly to fiat, quick escrow services, a pay-pall specificly designed for vertcoin and some sort of e-bay where people can offer goods to be exchanged for VTC and VTC only.

You could also think about lottery/casino websites for vertcoin where you could play games like poker/blackjack with your VTC.

Social Media

We should also start a Social-Media campaign promoting the pro's of vertcoin compared to the other cryptocurrencies. Social media will be especially important in the campaign to reach the mainstream public. ( At wich point known retailers will also start accepting VTC)

Articles/essays

We also need professional writers and perhaps journalists to promote the coin, they will be writing contructive posts about what whould be the benefits of using VTC as a currency. This campaign will be aimed at the well-educated people and ofcourse at possible investors.

Ofcourse there are many more things we could do to promote the coin but i believe that if we put time/effort in these causes vertcoin will surpass any other Cryptocurrency and become the next standard.
Let's get involved people and create REAL demand for our precious coin.  

I'd like to start the fund to make these great things happen right now to start these projects as fast as possible, for more information about myself check this topic.

I know the price is fluctuating alot atm. But think a moment for yourself, would you rather own 100 VTC with a value of 5 dollar or would you rather own 90 VTC with a value of 10x or even 25x that amount due to awesome community effort?

Another thought. Does Vertcoin have a facebook page yet Vertcoin? Is this something that someone would volunteer to set up and manage?
