Best coin

I would not say it is the best coin, but it has capability. I always thought this replaces litecoin because litecoin failed with it's initial claim to be asic resistant and to be a gpu only coin. Seems still to be a very early stage of vertcoin? But i know that some investors sold all coins they had. Maybe this is the rebirth? Scrypt always was too power hungry but now it looks very efficient. I'll give it a try.

Edit: Is there a comparison between neoscrypt and lyra2re of the power consumption?

Here's the big test I promised....
The last question is: Will I turn on the radiator this winter? Wink
Yes, you came through on that promise! Thanks a lot man. Smiley

Let us know if you turn the radiator on.  Cheesy

great to see how this forum changed from a investors/speculators forum to a miners forum  Smiley

waiting for lyra2RE !
How cool is that!  Cheesy ..but makes me wonder..what do we do with the big Vertcoin settings thread over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=416572.0
I hope theres not lurkers over there wondering what's going on. Best to ensure we are all on the same page as a community, especially in this critical changeover period. And also, we can never forget the wise words bestowed upon us by Vertan the great: Image(sfw)

Will the list of p2pools that vertcoin.org links to (http://coin.cubeconnex.com/poollist/) either be updated to only show p2pools that run Lyra2RE, or somehow show they're ready for the fork?

Thx

Yes. If you are a p2pool operator and you are ready for the Lyra upgrade, please send email to the http://coin.cubeconnex.com/poollist site's webmaster to indicate Lyra2RE readiness.

Don't know, but if you try it so (please change frequency for your gpus):

"gpu-engine" : "1040,1040,1040,1040,1040,1040",

"gpu-engine" : "1040,1040,1040,1040,1040,1040",
a new version based on the latest sgminer5 version is coming, these problems should be fixed (can't test it though, I have only one amd card)

DEV,i found a bug in lyra2.c
please check this code

   //================================ Setup Phase =============================//
    //Absorbing salt, password and basil: this is the only place in which the block length is hard-coded to 512 bits
    ptrWord = &wholeMatrix[0];
    for (i = 0; i < nBlocksInput; i++) {
      absorbBlockBlake2Safe(state, ptrWord); //absorbs each block of pad(pwd || salt || basil)
      ptrWord += BLOCK_LEN_BLAKE2_SAFE_BYTES; //goes to next block of pad(pwd || salt || basil)
      -------------------------------------------------------
BLOCK_LEN_BLAKE2_SAFE_BYTES is 64
the problem is
ptrWord is a 64 bit pointer,but the line ,it add 64,means it add 64*64=4096 bit=512 byte,
so ,the next round ,all ptrWord is zero,
that means Concatenates the basil and padding are not used!!!!!!

you must change BLOCK_LEN_BLAKE2_SAFE_BYTES to BLOCK_LEN_BLAKE2_SAFE_INT64

Should the fork on 16 Dec 2014? That is 6 days away.

The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived. We are very proud to announce the hard fork to Lyra2RE which will land approximately December 16th at block 208301. This is the culmination of many months of hard work with jamesl22 taking the lead and more than proving his technical abilities.

We are looking into this and evaluating the impact. This was written by the authors of the Lyra2 algorithm, so we are trying to contact them as well.

Cheers,
