There is still work to do

The list is not totally accurate by the way.
For instance, it only counts the "official" FB. Nxter has an additional 804 members and there are more FB pages out there, in different languages.
Same goes for Twitter.

Reddit is correct, and we have had a good month there: 4559 unique visitors and about 120 new subscribers, but we could do better there. Still growing by 6 per day, but that can and should go up. People are quiet in there though, so not much interaction going on.

I'd like to have a Q&A thread on reddit, but we'd need a dedicated semi-technical person on there to help out answer the more difficult questions. Such a thread would bring in regular viewers.

NXT promotional vehicle.
Beg/borrow/steal/hire a nice vehicle (I'm thinking Tesla roadster here, tbh)

Perfect for Toronto, considering how much money they want to let people inside.

The idea is great, but I think NXT is still too much in it's infancy too get "NXT accepted here" at Tesla.
If you look at the trading volume for a 24h period, it's basically 1 single Tesla.
If Tesla suddenly started accepting NXT then the big hoarders would all suddenly put in a order for a Tesla or 5 (for resale in fiat money), which would leave NXT's price dead.
How do I know this would happen? 99% of all merchants that accept Bitcoin INSTANTLY turn the money into fiat, Bitpay does this for them automatically. It works for Bitcoin because it has hundreds of thousands of users, but for NXT it would crash and burn instantly...


We have to work on getting NXT into more hands first before big merchants can accept us.

Good point, Uniqueorn. You've articulated well a concern I've had. How specifically can we get NXT into more hands without giveaways or easier clients. We need to identify the market barriers and generate some fresh ideas!

Yep, it'd be good to have more merchants on board with NXT in it's current first gen form. We need more marketing and more payment systems........might come back to this later.

On the Tesla: I dont expect Tesla to want to get paid for cars in NXT, can't see that happening right now. Maybe in a month or 3....
But maybe we could get Tesla to do some co-operative marketing with NXT.
Having a NXT branded Tesla at a conference full of Bitcoin/dollar rich venture capitalist types wouldn't be a bad thing for Tesla, at all.
If I go further with this, I'll get in touch with Tesla here in A'dam.
Fatih: talk to your engineering buddy. Who knows, he might play tennis with their marketing manager.

Anyway, first point, do u guys like the promo vehicle/Tesla idea, seen purely as a marketing tool?

After quite dry weeks we have some articles prepared, I have got it in the OneNote, but it should be here too, especially for NxtMinnow who will be writing new articles and for others to know which topics are finished.

The fact is we had many weeks without texts and now he have 10 prepared texts. That's why we shouldn't publish all of them within 1 week but save something for the dry days, if they come. But it looks like there won't be dry days anymore. We will see.

What is Nxt?
2.   Right now, Nxt is completely decentralized digital currency. It is very fast, secure and green. All transactions and accounts are stored on the network.

3.   As a second generation cryptocurrency, Nxt has a lot to offer. There is no such thing as Bitcoin mining in Nxt, which means control of the network cannot be centralized in a data centre in Iceland. To maintain the Nxt network, users are rewarded with fees in return for generating blocks of transactions. This is how Bitcoin will work once all new coins are mined in 100 years.

4.   Nxt’s code already supports colored coins, which is method for designating specific coins and tying them to physical property. This lets Nxt run a decentralized asset exchange that can be used to trade Nxt for other goods - everything from other currencies to physical objects.  How does this work?  You send your asset to the Nxt exchange gateway and the gateway issues the asset on the Nxt network by creating colored coins to represent it.  Your asset is then transferable on Nxt, and can be traded with anyone. You can already use it as a kickstarter for crowdfunding projects.

5.   Nxt also has many social features. The Alias System can turn your Nxt account number into almost any name you want. You can use secure, private mechanisms for sharing DNS names, phone numbers, account numbers, and more. In addition, you can use the distributed, peer to peer network to chat and send messages to other users from the Nxt client interface. Nxt also implements a decentralized Voting System, so that users can collaborate to make important decisions, such as releasing the source code for the Nxt project to the public.

6. Nxt's Arbitrary Messages feature leads us to the true decentralized web.  A “ essage” can be any small piece of data, so it has broad potential - for example, torrent files have already been sent via this network. In the future, With multiple parallel blockchains running side-by-side, Nxt will be able to provide cloud storage and file sharing apps. These applications will be able to use different blockchains for different purposes: one for file storage, one for messages, and so on. Each app will use only a specific blockchain(s) and won't be spammed by the others.

7. Very soon the first game built on top of the Nxt network will be published: a decentralized Poker game. Nxt will provide a platform for easy creation of new currencies. They will be maintained on Nxt blockchain, but they will have their own environment. Nxt also supports integrated, peer-to-peer exchanges so you don’t have to pay high fees to service providers. It is very simple to create new applications for Nxt. it is almost like Lego. Developers can build anything they imagine on top of Nxt.

8. Currently, Bitcoin and Nxt are only pseudonymous, but additional functions based on Zerocoin and coin mixing services , built on top of Nxt, can provide a completely anonymous infrastructure. With the Zerocoin algorithm integrated within NXT, it will be mathematically infeasible to link the particular coins used by each user.

9.   Nxt is not a copy of Bitcoin!  Nxt builds on the ideas behind Bitcoin, but does it all with completely new code, written from scratch. Why? Analysis has shown that Bitcoin uses 2,900 times more energy to power the network than Nxt and that Bitcoin costs 820 times more than Nxt to power the same network. As a result, the Nxt network is very energy efficient. Nxt doesn’t require massive amounts of computing power, so it's very low in power consumption.  You can even run Nxt on iPhones, Android devices, and $35 computers like the Raspberry Pi.

10. Nxt is one step ahead of all other decentralized platforms thanks to its start as a cryptocurrency. It is now ready to become a completely new decentralized network. Nxt provides a powerful and flexible platform for developers, allowing them to easily develop new applications for Nxt. Thanks to great community behind it, as evidenced by the thousands of pages on the Nxt Bitcointalk “pub” thread, Nxt has achieved an unbelievable amount in very little time. What I mean is this: the articles left for, for instance, Dutch are mainly code. At least a lot of them are. This means mainly C/P, which takes time, but not a lot of translation.

However, there are also articles that require "true" translation.

joefox can probably see which ones these are and tell you. I can't and you can't see from the stats.

The bounty last month was 50,000. Don't know if we can keep that up, but the amount of work will go down, now that a lot has been translated. Might be a good idea to at least keep it a bit in line with fair payment. That doesn't mean it needs to be overpaid, but it would be nice for most to actually get some true amounts of Nxt out of it.

Hi Guys,

Is it a good idea to make a youtube video that can go viral?

Like the "Free Hugs" campaign which had major views on Youtube.

For example we could something make like the Free Hugs / Free kiss campaign.
But not for free. The people who participate on the streets will get free NXT.

So; Kiss for NXT / Hug for NXT. Show some love to cryptocurrency.

You will need two persons. A cameraman and an actor =)

And then promote it like hell. Maybe we can hit the news.

How to spread the NXT? Maybe with businesscards with a unique password on it and a simple explanation and the link to the inforgraphic etc.

I just compared the February stats to the January ones, and there was actually slightly MORE overall translation work done in February.  This was actually a surprise to me.  I thought it would have tapered off, but a few folks have been putting a lot of work into languages that have been thus far under-represented.

I would like to suggest, then, another bounty of 50K Nxt for February.  This would put the top payout at about 7500Nxt, and the lowest at 40Nxt.
