What are the chances BTC is replaced by something better soon?

Does not seems like this is going to happen anytime soon. Many has come and gone but never threatened bitcoin. Bitcoin dominance has increased to more than 50% now.

The chances are close to 0 imo, but you never know what will happen. Almost everyone knows about Bitcoin now or at least has heard the word "Bitcoin".

yes of course, because there have been many coin cryptocurrency in this world. But for now it's still a superior bitcoin and number 1 on cryptocurrency is just a matter of time and see if bitcoin will be replaced.

As far as I know and I have seen, no coin can replace bitcoin for now. Bitcoin has made a name for itself as it was already established with a wide gap before all these altcoins were developed and it takes the lead in terms of market size, adoption and community.

it's impossible, too many factors that support the development of bitcoin compared to other coins, especially bitcoin has been formed from the beginning of the famous crypto currency and bitcoin is a future investment in the world today

There will not be any chance to replace BTC some thing better soon because it is the first crypto currency started in the year 2009 and followed by lots of other currencies are established in the market. Now by comparing the crypto currencies with the bitcoin it is the King among the other currencies.The market capital of the bitcoin is still far higher than the other crypto currencies and also the daily traded volumes are much higher than the other currencies.So there will not be any chances to replace bitcoin from the market.

For the market right now, I think at this point, xrp is suitable to do that. In our life now, most of the county already accepted bitcoin for dealers, but the rest of them is not, Vietnam is a example. Imagine like 50 years later, if this keep continue, Xrp - the token for bank will be spread all over either those countries that not accept bitcoin. No matter how many currencies flow into the crypto market no one can take Bitcoins place because the name, price and the demand it has build over years are hard to achieve by other currencies in few years time which makes Bitcoin unbeatable in the market but everything can be changes in the future if a new invention comes to the world that has the ability to make a radical change than Bitcoin but so far Bitcoin is holding it's place

if you play a game of odds in the cryptocurrency world you might lose, and lose everything, as time and time again it has disappointed a lot of people who wanted to see it fail, so basically what am saying is, if another cryptocurrency better than BTC exists or is launched the news should not come as a shocker

I did not think it would be possible to bitcoin to be replaced by something better. Bitcoin was very strong at the top. So, it will not be replaced by something else. If anyone is replacing bitcoin then I think it must be really strong and superior to Bitcoin. Then there would be no substitute for bitcoin. That is my opinion.

So to all the tech savy people in here - what advantages could other cryptocurrencies bring that will give them a crucial edge over BTC, and how fast could something like that come along?

do you mean transferring trust and also the current Bitcoin price to other altcoins? I think it's very difficult to do.

I can now strongly say that there is no other coin that can replace bitcoin because bitcoins market is down and may be it is the worse time in the history of bitcoin but still it holds the number one position.
