Thanks =) I think everyone went to sleep right before it started though. Oh well they can see it when they get back.
having some dc issues to your pool, not sure if its on my side or yours my miner wont reconnect sometimes, even with failover pools and i won't be able to monitor it as i will be away for Chinese New Year.. shucks cgminer should try to reconnect after 30 seconds I think. If you cant connect to failover pools though I suspect the problem is on your end. I hope you get it working and happy new year to you!

Whhooo Hhoooo poolers.org is now 111Mh/s I feel a giveaway coming people as we have now hit his 100Mh/s barrier.... Yeahhhhh, bring it on I am a man of my word. You guys have far exceeded my expectations and I appreciate how quickly people have adopted poolers.org. I am going to take a little time to plan out the first contest for the Steam video game reward. We just got a member that started mining at almost 30 MH/s by themselves so whether they stick around or not is going to impact the design of the contest. If I were to do something like whoever finds the most blocks in x amount of time, that person would pretty much automatically win. While I do think that higher hashing power should give you better odds, I would like to give everyone a chance at winning. Give me some time to see that this is a sustained hashrate and to put together some details of a contest that will interest everyone and then I will come back with an announcement. Who knows, maybe while I am working the details out the pool will grow so much that I will be giving away the xbox bundle instead of just a video game. Stay tuned! Take every register account name (you can see the anonymous ones as well), put them into random.org and just have random.org randomly select a winner. No bias, everybody is equal. I do think that would be a nice fair way to randomly select a winner but I had something more competitive in mind that would promote continuous participation. An instant drawing would make the contest over immediately and then we risk people signing up just to get their name in the drawing and then leaving if they don't win. I would like to use your suggested method though to do random giveaways just for rewarding people for mining with us. These will likely be coin giveaways but that wont come until after the 0% fees end so I can accumulate the coins for the giveaways. Right now I am only receiving donations which so far have only totaled 14.6 CON. However for contests designed to quickly grow the pool I would like to do something that requires participation over x amount of time. This way everyone benefits because even if you don't win a prize, at least you have the benefit of mining in a pool that is finding blocks faster. Note: regarding 0% fees ending, it is not happening yet and once it does it will be a fair amount. The people that got here early and locked in 0% will remain at 0% forever. I don't think it's that hard Announce the competition 2 days in advance. Anybody who has been mining for 24 hrs between Wednesday and Friday is eligible At midnight on Wednesday all account number eligible will be enterered into the comp at random.org On Friday 12 noon the selection will be made This means all miners who have been with you from day 1 will be entered (like me) All new miners since the announcement will be eligible And there is nothing you can do to stop them leaving after the comp anyway!! I like the idea of random selections every X number of minutes or hours until the funds run out but the reality is that is people are going to leave after the promo they will leave any ways!!

So do I have this right: a steady 35 CON block reward every 25 seconds on average, means this coin can be mined for about 825 days and then... POOF! Anyway, I supposed that's a lot better than stuff that gets mined at a rate of 250 million in six months and then 1 million per year perpetually after that.

well like btc, ltc and so on. You can still mine after that because the transaction fees are always going back to mine....

Contest Details
The prize will be a video game of your choice through steam, gifted to your steam account.
I will be doing a combination of ideas that have been thrown around as well as my own.
Here is how it will work:
The contest will start on Friday 1/30/14 @ 12pm Mountain Time Zone (about 8.5 hours from now) and run for 72 hours.
-Each person who finds a block will receive an entry in a random drawing (limit of 10 entries per person) -Whoever finds the most blocks will receive an additional 5 entries (15 total entries) -User IDs 2 through 50 will start off with 3 entries and can still earn the 10 for finding blocks (total of 13 possible entries) This is thanks for getting it started when hashrate was under 25 and blocks were seldom.
At the end of the contest I will post screenshots from the database of how many blocks each user id found. Then I will enter those user IDs into a randomizer however many times depending on the number of entries you earned.
Whichever user ID is drawn will receive the Steam game.
I think this contest design rewards both the high hashers, the early members, and at the same time gives people that found even just 1 block a chance of winning.
Good luck!

Depends on the rate the pool you are in is finding blocks what percentage of the hashpower you are contributing. On con.poolers.org your estimate should be around 420 a day.

I got around 640kh/s and it is showing me that I can get 100 coins, so it seems right to me.

I like it. It shows that you put much thought into it. Maybe you could also give 1 entry to users that set a Donation field, that way you would encourage other people to do it and you could then use Donation money to have more Giveaways.
