I sold my last DRKs around .0179... (sold half off earlier, around 0.2... I missed the high, thought the bitfinex deal would take us higher)... but now I decided I better play it safe in case Mike's right and I'm wrong.

I sold because the likelihood of down seemed way more than up to me at the moment. I doubled down on the last crash, I wonder how many more I can get this time. Seriously this is opportunity as far as I'm concerned.

If you are a VC, and you invest in a project that could reach a market valuation of $1bn within 2-3 years from start-up, how much would you invest to secure your position against the competition from other VC?

Personally, if I was a VC and looked at project with the potential to get to $1bn within 2-3 years, I would give it a current valuation of $100m. That's 10x return in 2-3 years. Squarely within the realms of reality for any Silicon Valley type project that already has a first round / secondary market value above $30m - $40m.

When the project is out of testing and in final release where the risks are reduced, $200m - $300m. 

Invest $1m and get back $3m in a few years. That there is the definition of a no brainer.

So the May predictions were considered fanciful at the time the survey was completed, yet the price went above the highest range.

So, what happens at the end of 2014?

It would seem as though DRK/BTC has reached a do-or-die point ala BTC one month ago. These logarithmic channels are a pretty big deal.

I nearly caught that falling knife with some some recently purchased BTC (which the wife finally allowed via fiat). Hopefully this is a pretty important short- and medium-term bottom.

funny thing is, mike's attempt of analysis isnt even close to "real world" technical analysis. all he brings to the game is some shitty google drawing of "bubble phases". thats as close to technical analysis as a formula one car to a bobby car. pretty bullshit to come up with such sketchy "analysis".

could it go at or below 0.01? maybe, but personally i doubt it.

Old news. Darkcoin was originally called Xcoin. It changed its name about 5 months ago.

At this time, isn't price is about what the whales happen to decide to do with their money more than anything? If DRK makes it long term, then sure, it will be worth a lot. But that still seems kind of like a hefty "if" to me, and short-term, all bets are off as well because the P&Ds make it very difficult to know what will happen to price (unless you're one of them lol).

That's why I said gauge what the largest stakeholders are doing with their money by looking at the top wallets (exclude exchanges). They clearly have a lot more at stake than the smaller coinholders and if they still see value in adding, there must be some sort of reason behind the madness.

I don't disagree that price is at least being manipulated to an extent, especially with the low volume dumps, but it's hard for me to decide to part with anything substantial being that the book just isn't there with available orders (that leaves me feeling uncomfortable buying back what I'd sell without price moving substantially to the upside).

I think you make a very significant point, and I agree. So far the big holders, are well, holding. That's a good sign, enough for me to hold too. That being said I'm a bit divided about it, I certainly have no great confidence. Yes, they seem to be holding FOR NOW. I don't really think they are religious about it or anything, if they see the right indicators or lose confidence for some reason, they will dump. And if they did.....

You can sit around waiting for ever on absolute certainty. Darkcoin is far and away the best on the scene right now, in a multitude of different ways, so I back it, particularly as there is currently zero credible competition.

I would hedge if there was anything promising to hedge with, but for the forseeable future there are exactly two cryptocurrencies of any worth, BTC for public/don't care transactions, and DRK for privacy. Everything else is pointless.

No seriously i just absolved my studys on Decision theory last semester http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decision_theory#Choice_under_uncertainty .
