Agreed. It's called "profit taking" and it happens in all markets. And the difference is when it occurs when we reach or approach an ATH, it is profit-taking. The same site says LTC will be at $300 by christmas hahahahahha.
If BTC is $2500 + I could easily see that happening, not too sure whats so funny. Its gonna be tough time for all alts once a BTC bubble starts. |

The site is using linear regression which makes the forward projection of future prices inaccurate, but at least it should give an idea, if past price trends hold true. |

I've said before BTC can go into the thousands for various reasons, $5000 would mean $100+ for LTC by default I suppose it could also then get a boost to $300+ for the same reasons BTC got a boost. You really have to think about what it means to hold something that is tied to 2 values. Its only really an issue once your coin gets a USD outlet as before that happens everything is priced relative to BTC. The problem with holding something that is relative to BTC but has no USD outlet is that you must buy BTC/sell your alt to get out that creates downwards pressure on the single alt/btc market. Profit taking on 1000% gains is wise, this is one of the reasons why LTC tends to rally with BTC where as other coins tend to fall. There is a whole separate LTC/USD market that other coins just don't have. I think this could be a factor in allowing DRK to keep up with a BTC rally to some degree. |

MingoPool is a scam!Sorry to keep posting, but after being screwed over by this guy it's now my duty to follow all his posts with a warning so that other people don't fall for his trap. Search the 365coin thread for "mingopool", TONS of complaints. He stole 0.38 365 from me. On the day I discovered it that amount was worth USD$352 ! Other complaints of him using miners credentials on other pools and changing the payout address. Stupid to reuse credentials, but still NOT COOL! It's amazing the pool ops can screw over the community and continue operating under the same name. |

And now there is already a DRK/USD market too (actually, c-cex had that too, but it always used BTC to valuate, so it doesn't really count) But it will be a long while before it frees itself from the BTC reference. However, if more people take upon bitfinex or other exchange that provides a direct DRK/ fiat, from a certain point forward, people will stop using BTC as a reference, because they will always buy DRK directly with whatever fiat currency they can. In my view, for all that to take place, two things must happen: 1. crypto-only exchanges must implement alt/DRK markets, much the same way they still have (and should keep) alt/LTC. 2. DRK's liquidity and coin dispersion must increase exponentially - and trading, lots of trading, with huge amounts of new traders, needs to happen to make that real Until then, make a stash (80%) and actively trade (20%), not for maximum profit, but for continuously redistribution (with average positive results, of course ) And btw, there are some recent studies that seem to point to a counter intuitive strategy for those that use BBands on their analysis - please check recent publications (wikipedia and investopedia have good references). i would like to point out.... it might be not even desirable to have 100% NSA proofed annonimity... This would probably cause an arms race... that would lead to nowhere... an sufficient anonymity for 99% ot the legal privat transaction ist absolutly enought. It needs to be hard enought for anybody to look into it so theat they simply only do it in cases where they believe there might be heavy crime involved.

You shouldn't criticise people dumping. It's a necessary part of the price evolution. I just dumped as well - two thirds of my holdings. But not because I think DRK's a bad investment, I still think it has a long way to go. I just have a rule where I'm not allowed to have more of an alt coin than BTC and I was getting ridiculously exposed after the rises of the last 3 weeks. A lot of people are in that category. You just have to take profits no matter how good the fundamentals are, otherwise this whole game is just Russian roulette. |
