Market reaction is really unbelievable ! Changing name,what ever it is,is simply the best news darkcoin can have,for anyone who have invest in Dash because of its technology are in for this,some dump because they think the name change will 'kill' the coin,like we're already an establish trademark of multi bilion... There are no VC back of Dash right now.. With all respect du,anyone thing the name change will kill the coin have a damn small mind

Thanks for pointing this out, Tok. Like I said I'm agree with rebranding but decide to go with DASH ( Evan is the one who almost decided everything) is foolish IMO.
None of your examples are world class brand. If you want to create the next Bitcoin, your brand name must be important enough too.

And I'm not the only one, look how many people hate this new name. Evan might be success in creating a most hatred cryptocoin, LOL.

I'm DRK supporter from the beginning, don't mistake me for a troll. But this time is really ridiculous. Just imaging that someone just killed the coin you love the most, what do you think ? I have a broken heart here, seriously.

Ok I certainly did not want to make you out for a troll, but it was your remark on how many people hate the new name that made me post with my grumpy hat on. From all the dash logo's submitted it seems most tend to find the rebranding strategy a good one.

I got some friends which got out of DRK just now, they are not leaving because of the name change.
They got the oppinion that BTC is topping around 300 $, and so they get rid of theire alts, and also of the BTC before BTC drops (what they think it'll do).
From there point of view this makes sense, if you think BTC will drop from here, your alt $ value will drop, too, so its a good exit point for them.

Just saying, there is maybe more than just a name change, its more a problem that the alts are all traded against BTC. (So if BTC goes down and you stay in an alt, which seems to drop, too, its just logically to get out, before you make double the loss because of the alt and btc.)

Here is what you are missing, it is just group psychology really, everyone assumes that others will sell because some will not agree with the name change, so they sell with the intention to buy lower and see if they can profit from the uncertainty. Then sometime after the news the minority that had real intention of exiting is out, and only the bluffers are still in the game. From there is just a poker game to see who can really profit and who can't when it bounces.

I can be wrong but I think is a great entry point for some big investors taking advantage of the name changing a getting a lot of MN at a very good price, that kind of people don´t want to buy one, five or ten MN at market prices but want 20, 30, 50 MN at a good price without crashing the market and this very instant is the best to do this.

If you look at it purely from an asset valuation point of view (as in a company buys 300 new tractors so they can boost their productivity in response to new markets), the exposure to previously closed markets that becomes available warrants a doubling of the valuation for a start.

Traditionally alts have gone down against btc during beginnings of run ups and then gone up again nearer ath's as people look to diversify so it's not a bad conclusion.

How does furthering adoption of a payment platform is related to Litecoin in any way?  Litecoin adds 0 value, they dont have any differentiators, go check their Github.

DASH has an original value proposition and is looking to differentiate itself from the regular altcoin. DASH is no altcoin, it is just a younger original crypto payment platform proposal. You can invest in it or not, but LTC has nothing to do with this.
