How long before we can forget the parity with BTC and just be concerned with what the fiat/DASH exchange rate is? I've been watching the $US/DASH rate more than anything else because that is a better indication of value for me. BTC has been dropping while DASH increasing. That doesn't always translate to a value gain. Many people here have been talking about the .02 level like it's approaching some record value in the history of DRK/DASH. But the last time DRK/DASH was at the .02 level, BTC was at ~$600 which makes DRK/DASH ~$12 per coin. To attain that same $12 level, at current BTC of ~$260 the BTC/DASH would have to be about .046.  The highest BTC/DASH level ever was around .0274 and BTC was around $540.

I get the excitement of where DASH is heading, believe me I'm stoked about it, but .02 doesn't excite me. $15+ would for me be the more exciting event because that would be record breaking grounds. The point where nobody really gave a shit about BTC value in regards to DASH would be the big day.

I thought that according to Duffenomics, the masternode count was supposed to decrease with increasing price as people checked out. (i.e. the price of the collateral increases to less collateral is needed). Then increase as price reduces as a stabilising action.

As far as I can see the masternode has increased over the last week by about 100.

Time will tell, but I suspect that on some levels our fearless leader's economic formulas have assumptions built into them that will not hold in the world we are entering. I am NOT an economist, but I don't think anyone playing with their formulas 20 years ago could have imagined negative interest rates.

Those who are not living hand-to-mouth, and have any awareness of what is going on in the world will be/are desperately looking for a way to preserve anything that is not required to sustain life. I can very easily envision a world with close to 5,000 masternodes, where the masses are struggling for scraps of DASH and to posses even a whole coin is considered wealthy. In that hypothetical day shared masternodes will be the norm and and the technology will have evolved to the point that the shared nodes are trustless and banks will be used only by the sheeple dependent on the State.

Of course, long before that point is reached, DASH will have been outlawed and its developers disappeared, some in health, and some not... but like I said, time will tell.

yes, 50mil. divided to different exchanges and divided again by several days i would say its possible. sell 3mio per day per exchange and you are good to go.

i also think that the gox-coins have been dumped in 2014. better dont expect too much from the admins.

I was aiming for ~3000 masternodes by mid 2016 based on an return-on-investment bond model. The masternode networks fundamentals are pretty similar to that of the bond market, ROI being comparable to expected interest rates. Currently the expected interest rate of the network appears to be about 16%, as our fundamentals strengthen I would expect that expected rate to actually fall allowing more masternodes onto the network (if people feel less risk in having a masternode, they'll accept less return).

This! I suspect the day is comming when a 3% return will be considered VERY healthy, and there will be 5,000 masternodes.
