Hello,

My name is Coins101 and I am addicted to this thread.

Hi Coins, very brave of you to come out. Don't you worry, you're amongst friends and the odd sociopathic scratched-record troll.

How's is your campaign going for Chairman of the Board and Master Ruler of the Universe?

I just want to be in charge of the beer money  Tongue

Holy shit...I just setup my first masternode using Tao's guide.
One week ago I had about 2 BTC to play with. Today I have a Dash masternode thanks to a certain coin's 1000% rally this week (and some luck/skill with selling right at the top - myfarm can vouch for that because I urged him to do the same Grin ) .

This has been my goal for months now and I'm finally ready to be all-in with Evan and dev team and Dash.
I've left myself a small bit of coinage to trade around with (in hope of someday trading up to perhaps a second masternode)...we'll see on that.

JL
Finally, good to have you onboard! Took you long enough! Tongue

Since you're in now, does that mean analysis on a more frequent basis? Grin

More like the world's first Mobile 3G/4G/LTE Masternode, unless of course, someone beats me to it ...  Grin

Been testing my 3G connection for weeks now, and the IP is rock solid.

Yer, I be finkin the first person in the world to have a truly mobile masternode would kick serious ass. The android version does not have the blockchain downloaded so might have to attend one of them flash sales myself  Cool

Will also be cool to have your own OpenBazaar store on it too. Always online and available in your pocket.  Wink Will be great for work too, as it is a full blown desktop OS, and you can hook up bluetooth keyboards and mouse. Secondary monitor is also possible, but I don't think anyone has developed the connectivity for it, but it will only be a meter of time. Add a private home NAS cloud, and its the very first really full blown pocket computer in existence. I'm very excited  Cheesy

Yeah, I just bought one  Grin

Grab them while you can, stock is very limited and they take "ages" to re-stock. They don't announce availability, so its a permanent flash sale. In theory you can buy any of the others (or other brands) and flash ubuntu onto it, but its not straight forward at all from what I gathered. This one is the first and only official one so far. Asked them if they'd be released any of the higher spec'ed ones, and they said no, not for now. But of course, that can change at any second.

I will wait a year to buy it.  Maybe better specs and better software will come and most of it will be tested. Soooo exited right now! Like YEAH! ubuntu phone, dash wallet! YEAH!
Was thinking they will never release the phone!

Hi Sub-Ether,

I thought I'd give this a try. Managed to install the app okay. Tried sending it 0.1 DASH from the wallet on my PC but initially nothing was received. Looking further into it I see that the network monitor (on the app on the phone) indicates no peers are connected. I added my own MN into the 'trusted peer' setting to see if this helped at all. It didn't. The app initially just sat there not connecting to anything as if it needed some sort of kick-off to get started. The phone's definitely connected to the Internet as I can browse and receive email.

So I tried restarting the phone and reran the app. After a few minutes connections suddenly started appearing, but it took at least another 20 minutes or so before the 0.1 DASH I sent as a test came in (and it had been an InstantX transaction).

So left it sitting there for a while and picking it up an hour later it's lost all its peer connections again. Can't get it to do anything so have rebooted phone again and rerun the app. Still nothing after 30 minutes then after about 45 minutes connections appeared in the network monitor again but only briefly, they've gone again.

So I'm having "mixed results" but the look and feel of the app is excellent.

Are you sure you can even get a terminal on that thing? I wish Canonical would stop messing about with useless newfangled UI rubbish.  Cheesy

I managed to compile darkcoind on my old Galaxy S2 a few months back in an ubuntu server chroot, it took about 3 days... no use as a MN though without a static IP.

Delete both peers.dat on your local/remote.
Than masternode start from your updated v22 local wallet too Wink other wise it will stay @ v17

From what I know its Ubuntu Unity desktop with a phone touch overlay

Quote
It’s designed as a mobile (or portable) operating system for smartphones and tablets, although with a caveat that I’ll write about a little later. For our readers unfamiliar with Ubuntu, this is a full blown operating system running over a LINUX kernel. It will run over an Android kernel, which makes it an interesting diversion from Google’s operating system. Now, the caveat that I wrote about is that the Ubuntu Phone operating system uses the same core technologies as Ubuntu Desktop. This means that if an Ubuntu Touch device has the necessary desktop components installed, plugging it into an external monitor gives the user a full desktop experience.
