Trying to setup MN donations.....

Is the trans id the one where I sent my original 1000DASH?
1st time here - virgin run
TX ID is the transaction which funds the 1000 coins of new address or to explain it is the newest 1000 input on this address supposing there are not other 1000 inputs on this address Wink

am I using dash.conf and masternode.conf now?Huh?

masternode.conf

So I should put everything into masternode.conf only?

Only MN related stuffs and only on local machine
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/blob/master/doc/guide-startmany.md
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/blob/master/doc/masternode_conf.md

So to make donation it's mandatory to use start many wallet?

Edit : Oh... Or maybe I can make a masternode.conf with only one line...
Yes and yes  Grin

And what is the : collateral output index.

In the example sometimes it's 0 sometimes it's 1. ?
 Kiss

There is a nice guide, have a look https://dashtalk.org/threads/reubens-start-multiple-masternodes-from-one-wallet-guide-start-many.4034/  Wink

There must be some reason they are continually dashing themselves upon the rocks of this forum and I swear upon Buddhas bountiful man breasts that at this point it must be some kind of perverted enjoyment.

The Trolling
It's just a question of statistics that an unmoderated thread is going to draw posts from a small number of demented nutcases who want to gorge on the available attention at other people's expense.

However there is also another reason. Dash is a controversial project in more ways than one.

The Differences from 'Last Year'
In particular, around this time last year, Dash's unique approach to anonymity (functional diversification of the network) started to emerge as just one of many new innovations going on across the altcoin market of the time. It wasn't particularly notable other than the fact that it supported the 'anonymity' features and it kind of passed under the radar on most other counts.

Over the last year, however, some major evolutions have occurred in the market which people probably did not predict:

[1] - the functional diversification approach that Dash took back then has worked. It's proven to be a generalised solution which immediately delivered 2 further breakthroughs over bitcoin: confirmation time and scaleability

[2] - Dash has emerged from the background in terms of marketcap to establish itself in the top 3 'pure currency' rankings

[3] - Bitcoin itself has prevailed over the flotilla of alts that came it's way. There is now very little, if any, prospect of any alt overturning bitcoin's transparent blockchain classic approach, starting again and gaining mainstream traction. In that respect Dash's remaining competitors in the market (at least in the anonymity sector) have walked straight into a huge cowpat by attempting to do exactly that

The 'Real controversy'
Note that Dash’s functional diversification approach is the one common denominator behind all these breakthroughs:

 - anonymity
 - confirmation time
 - transaction scaleability
 - legacy compliance with the bitcoin architecture

This is the “real” controversy - not the instamine.

'The Decoy'
However, it *is* why the ‘instamine’ has taken on such a huge importance from the perspective of adversaries. They cannot afford for attention to be directed at Dash’s unique technical approach and its benefits because ALL other networks (bar Dash clones and Bitcoin 2.0’s) are still mono-functional. It would suddenly widen the official playing field to a point where they are so far away from the goalposts that many would probably have to throw in the towel.

The only way to keep the spotlight off the “real” controversy is therefore to keep the ‘instamine’ alive and keep throwing it in everybody’s faces to the exclusion of everything else. In fact its impact is of course academic. A market depth chart is a V-shape and will always be a V-shape. What that means is that for every trader that values as asset using a given set of criteria, there is always another trader who prioritises those same criteria differently. It was an unconventional birth but the value could have gone to zero.

It didn’t, and the reason it didn’t is what adversaries would prefer not to discuss.

I would like to put forward a more cynical viewpoint, that trolling has become more of a marketing strategy than anything else. Since one of the big difficulties for coins is getting exposure and this is arguable the biggest alt thread on the biggest crypto forum then having your coin on every page of this thread is very valuable.

What is worrisome is that the it seems to be a profitable strategy, so not only will it continue but the trolling will become more aggressive in order to rile people to respond so they get even more exposure. Creating a  snowball effect.

-snip-

newsflash : https://twitter.com/ShapeShift_io
You heard right! #ShapeShift has partnered with @PurseIO to allow @Amazon purchases to be made with #BTC, #XMR, #DASH & more purse.io

I am truly on the fence with services like shapeshift or purse.  They only provide a way to extract value from an altcoin ecosystem, without directly improving adoption.

A currency needs to build an economy and that includes people being able to spend their coins, but that should be the result of organic growth, where new services adopt the currency, and also users that are not speculators find value in the added value benefits the currency brings so they are willing to exchange FIAT for coins, take advantage of those services and get what he needs at the merchants that are accepting the coins.

What do you guys think could this type of indirect ways to spend your coins be counterproductive for younger altcoin projects?

I see it as a net positive for Dash because liquidity increases value.

With increasing knowledge that you can spend an asset in more places, there is more confidence in its spendable value and more incentive to hold onto it rather than exchange it for something more liquid.

For BTC > USD:
Services like bitpay which allow retailers to accept BTC are adding to the liquidity of bitcoin and increase user potential to hold onto bitcoin instead of spend it.  On top of that, there are fundamentals at play that might even inspire a few new users to aquire BTC in order to buy a Dell computer rather than pay in USD directly. It might start with counter-culture, fight-the man anarchists who just want to prove their point, or future-minded sci-fi geeks, etc, etc., but this number will definitely grow as well. Some of the current retailers even offer discounts on Bitcoin purchases, too.

Now take that situation and apply it to Dash > BTC.
Services like Shapeshift are adding value to Dash, just like bitpay adds value to bitcoin.  Knowing you can spend your Dash at any time, instantly, without having to go through an exchange hassle means that you are more likely to hold onto them and makes them more desirable.    And the second point, the possibility of users actually aquiring new coins to make a purchase that is instantly transformed into BTC for the retailer, has even more potential with Dash > BTC.  This is of course because of the increased privacy(fungibility) and other fundamental advantages of using dash versus bitcoin.

That's my simplistic take on it. I'm no economics guru by any stretch, though. I'd be interested to hear what Toknormal and others have to say about it Smiley

I shouldn't pour salt on your wound, but here goes.  I placed a 2 DRK bet on Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership this season.  I used your address as the payout.  This accomplishes a couple of things.

1 - It tests the "timelock" feature of (currently) DRK as the funds won't be available until April 22.
2 - It puts 2.12 (currently) DRK in your wallet.
3 - It is a placeholder for anyone wishing to join in, the address is below.
4 - It makes a good question for a poll:

ON April 22, will the price of DASH be:

A - Below $3 USD,
B - Between $3 USD and $5 USD
C - Between $5 USD and $99 USD
D - $100 USD

I find myself being dragged into this more and more, simply because I object to the dev(s) of other projects openly smearing the dev of another project.

I really wanted to just use the ignore button. That still works for all of the Monero trolls. It is the devs campaign that I object to. And one of the devs is at it again.

My current summary of the Monero scam launch is here, below the Monero devs continued smear campaign, dressed up as an objective conscientious objector:

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

I have been thinking of this also.  I never forget what the boss of Mercedes Racing said about 10 years ago on their F1 team, he said "We don't have to win F1, we just have to be fighting with the front runners, this has plenty of positive effects on the Brand"...

The Trolls just want to pick a fight with the front runners, so their coin gets associated with DASH from a status perspective...

On a side note, I still burst out laughing every time I see Trollero, whomever thought of that deserves a freakin medal.  I was a regular on Poloniex when they launched XMR, it was the dawn of a new era for Trolls and pump teams.

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

The Trolls just want to pick a fight with the front runners, so their coin gets associated with DASH...

Some times they are quite short-sighted in this regard, as it is in the interest of the anonymous coin market in general for dash to perform well.

When drk/dash marketcap rises, so does the marketcap of other anon coins (the more serious ones, not the p&d shitcoins) from money flowing from the dash market to them, either as a hedge, or as investment with more booming potential due to their low marketcaps (sometimes the lower the marketcap the better in terms of speculation).

Speaking of other anon alts, CRAVE seems to be pushing I2P integration in the wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=997356.msg11236382#msg11236382

Can we get something similar for DASH? IP obfuscation plans have been on hold (?) for too long it seems.
