After the two weeks of voting period has ended history will look at the votes as follows :

% voted for YEA
% voted for NEA
% ABSTAIN --> not interested at voting

I would urge everyone that owns a masternode to take the time and actually put a vote out
which will directly influence the % for NEA and YEA votes.

Read more about the voting proposal here :

guys if i abstain from voting does it count as a no?

I believe so....

Asked, and the boss answered:

....

Let me get this straight.

51% Yea is required to pass.

However, 1872 Abstain? That means no pass.

Or, are we saying 1872 have yet to vote because vote starts with default set to abstain?

Or, are we saying 51% yea votes vs. nay votes, ignoring abstainers?

Sorry, only got one brain cell, and its thinking about the one thing it likes to think about most.

The vote requires 51% of the total masternodes to go through. Abstain is the default, so it means those nodes have not voted.

A central escrow/wallet for projects will cause problems with theft/loss/confiscation/tax.

Multisig in general is VERY secure and is proven in Bitcoin. Thus the temp implementation of having 7~10/15 multisig will not suffer from this problem.  As for future implementations... well we have testnet.  I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill on this theft/loss issue.

Multisig means jack shit when the psychopaths who run the asylum decide to ruin or end you. If they want your multisig key you are going to give it to them. They're slightly less likely to ask for it torture it out of you if it doesn't exist in the first place.

Or do you think bad things only happen to those nasty brown people, on TV, in the land of Far Away?   Roll Eyes

I think the central message should be to vote, not how to vote.

Can someone explain me, what I have to do on which wallet cold/remote to vote with a single MN?

2 possibilities:

  • Open the wallet which holds the 1000 DASH, open the debug console there and type "masternode vote yea" (or masternode vote nay)
  • Go to the computer which is running your Masternode daemon itself (most probably at some hosting service), open a shell and type "dashd masternode vote yea" (or nay)

(of course don't type the quotes)

This is the most general case. In cases where you customized your setup (e.g. to a different path than the default Dash-folder) you will have to ask more specific questions here.

Don't give trolls any ammunition. They will take the smallest hint of influencing a vote and turn it into a doom and gloom troll campaign.

Then we will have to deploy the anti-troll crack team again.

Wondered why its been quiet around here recently?  The trolls under estimate us when pushed too far, at their own cost. People that invest and support DASH are by definition smarter than the average troll, but they will still try if YOU feed the trolls (ha ha, got you back,  Grin).

First past the post,
http://www.dfs.ny.gov/about/press2015/pr1505071.htm

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

As I understand - if after voting MN has gone offline for more than 1 hour - it's vote is canceled and MN operator need to vote again?

It's pity we don't see whole list "IPs - actual vote results" so everybody could be sure  his vote(-s) is active. Sad
