That article seems really outdated.  I'd consider DASH to be at least 3rd generation, because it's denominated (so all coins are in the same amounts, so you can't match up inputs and outputs) plus it's ahead of time mixing.  They didn't mention those points in the article unless I missed it?  And like others have said, they don't even mention the masternode backbone system.

Ok, I'm too far behind, and I'll refrain from commenting until I catch up now, LOL

In memory of Ross Ulbricht.
The Rise and Fall of Silk Road (the untold story)
Part 1:
http://www.wired.com/2015/04/silk-road-1/
Part 2:
http://www.wired.com/2015/05/silk-road-2/

''His lucky break came from a thread on Reddit: A user posted a warning that Silk Road’s IP address was “leaking”—visible to other computers. Dread Pirate Roberts (or DPR, as he was often called) had been alerted to the problem by a user but ignored the warning. Silk Road’s success was making DPR arrogant. He had let down his guard, confidently telling colleagues that the site would never be found.''
...
''This was what the team had been waiting for: a misconfiguration somewhere on the site that revealed the real IP address of Silk Road, which Tarbell proceeded to trace all the way to the state-of-the-art facility in Iceland.''

I don't think that would ever happen, he's a bitcoin snob Wink

I think if I had the choice of TanteStefana2's brain or mine I'd choose hers as I wouldn't have to work so hard and would be able to play guitar and go ski-ing instead of wasting my time thinking about the mechanics of money.

That little sentence would have taken me an entire thread page, about 90 million pixels and a week of thinking to say the same thing.

That's so weird, but they know there will be appeals and they wanted the highest / worst case to bargain from.  He has a long fight ahead of him.

http://www.asus.com/ASUS_VivoPC/VivoPC_VM40B/

EUR 249,-
USD 271,-

This would be perfect to keep your Dash offline with, just disable wifi
and only connect to internet for syncing purposes.

I gotta say i feel tempted to buy it and throw the Dash wallet from my own PC
as extra security measurement .. what do you guys think ?

OUCH !!

Sorry - it was Jerry Dammer. Now corrected. Apologies to Jerry Dammer andthanks to the [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX thread's supreme musical heritage knowledge for the headsup !

Looks like Ross Ulbricht is the new Nelson Mandela. All we need now is a new Jerry Dammer to start the 30 year campaign to get him out.

Changpeng Zhao (ex-CTO of OKCoin) releases statement about the Star Xu - Roger Ver dispute.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/37tm1b/czs_statement_regarding_the_dispute_between/

As you may imagine, it's not to flattering to OKCoin, it may be time to withdraw any funds there.

A extra machine for you coins is always a good idea. But I would prefer a linux install. And why not Raspberry Pi 2? I think it will do the job well too for 40 USD and only a few watts.
