lol also Mintpal down?
It was an issue with the SSL in Firefox only. CloudFlare has now resolved the issue and the site is accessible again.

Sorry about that!

Finally some good news after all the drama with the hacking.

Hi guys

When will the darksend be implemented?

Regards

DarkSend is coming along great, I've fixed all of the issues that were brought up during the last test and the last couple days I wrote up the anonmizing tech that lives in DarkSend. It looks like it's working great, so I should be announcing a test date where everyone can try it out soon.

Next DarkSend test, 100% of sent transactions will be anonymous. Looking forward to showing it off!

Not hacking - code error - led to over-deposit - led to guy starting to run with the money - but it seems like his mind changed -....maybe.

Been on c-cex trollbox all day + https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=485029.0;all.
Plus this forum as well, all day - read every message in all 3 places - and I was calling out foul yesterday before anyone noticed.

I just got an interesting email warning against a possible attack vector against Darkcoin, someone could possibly DDOS multiple pools and lower the difficulty enough so that we'd get back into the older CPU based formula. I doubt they could make this work (and make a profit), but I believe preventing it by locking us into the GPU difficulty calculation is the correct thing to do.

I've updated the source, which goes into effect on block 24000. I'll be messaging all of the pools and asking them to update their wallets.

To be clear this change does nothing if we're not attacked. We would only fork in the case of an attack on the network.

Thanks!

This is the fix:

Unlocked. I'm not sure what's going on with the email. Ape is looking into it.

Are we sure that is the only thing going wrong with the pool?  Haven't found a block in a crazy long time...

Seems like the guy may be trying to return the c-cex funds as we speak....maybe.

Support on ccex said that they got back some 14.000 DRK and are working to get the rest.

The "hacker" seems to write here also: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=485029

Even if he does return the coins I'm pretty annoyed. He has made DRK appear more volatile than it is and wiped some value off people's holdings.

I doubt all coins will be returned... if he was dumping them like he did, then it's possible that not even 1/2 of it will be found (in BTCs - as he was selling at a loss). I'm kind of sure actually that I'm gonna lose BTCs with the ccex story.

As for DRK, there are two ways to interpret the aftermath of the "D(a)RK anomaly day"... one is that DRK is volatile, and the other is that DRK is extremely resilient despite what happened. Trading at 0.0015-16 vs 0.0020 in very small exchanges, when people actually knew that there were periodic dumps down to 0.001, is really something.

If the "stealer" was the same dumper, then that means that the dumps are over with and cheap DRKs from stolen BTCs = over. From one perspective, it's actually good that there were these dumps, evenly distributing the coins to small buyers, otherwise this stockpile would be hanging over our head in the future.

I have confirmed by email - and opened a support case. I will give support another day before I start to shout.

Is it intentional that confirming by email prompts another full login, then actually doesn't confirm - i have to go back to the confirm email and click it again? quite annoying.
