BitCoin was adopted because it was a new technology with a use. DarkCoin is not new. It's jsut another cryptocurrency in the minds of the masses, if they even manage to hear about it. Your saying Bitcoin (BTC) was successful because it was new technology , I said because it solved double spend problem so we agree .  You say dark coin is not new .  If DRK (let' substitute RYDC) implements anonymous features first in the next few days that no other coin has in the most efficient way then you are incorrect. If RYDC was the only coin that was truly anonymous then yes I would use RYDC and so would you. You would use it because you are the type of person who can see past tattoos and piercings and value it based on what it is instead of an irrelevant name. If the decision comes down to conducting my illegal raw milk commerce in RYDC's or potentially getting tracked down I will use RYDC's.  

People seem to think that using the coin in the way it is being designed (and arguably intended) is somehow wrong and we should pretend that it is not really the reason why this coin was created. I say embrace it.

The real reason people are complaining (probably earlier adopters) is because they see this as an investment instead of a currency. If I am going to trade my raw milk or illegal honey for DRK/RYDC do you think I care what the USD value is if I am converting or trading? Just like BTC If you are earning and spending coins tied back to a more stable value like USD (*relatively)  then it does not affect you much.  However it seems most people are not here for free market currency but more for get rich quick.

Government is going to drive adoption of something like this because of making everything over regulated and illegal (as I was referencing with milk and honey that non "criminals" can understand). "Dark" in the parlance of our time is about being hidden and anonymous and it is a positive thing not a negative.  It's not just about heroin and kidiporn eventually most of us will have a use for something like DRK/RYDC  because we will all be made into criminals. I can see it now kids speak easy lemonade stands because they have been shut down by bureaucrats and badge thugs and are accepting DRK and RYDC's.

The only set of eyeballs on your wallet are your own. " yet, skimming through their thread, I see nothing about how they make the transactions anonymous.  They are wonderful about self promotion, though!  We could use some great people like that here.

The law is created by oppressors for the purpose of oppression. Exclusively and always. Every once in a while the law does something for show, to act like it benefits somebody, so it chooses to agree with obvious things, like Rape and Murder, to give itself cover from all the evil it does. A token good thing to distract you from the millions of bad things.

The only set of eyeballs on your wallet are your own. " yet, skimming through their thread, I see nothing about how they make the transactions anonymous.  They are wonderful about self promotion, though!  We could use some great people like that here.

As far as I can tell, it's "anonymous" in the same sense that Bitcoin is anonymous. Your public address isn't attached explicitly tied to your real identity.

Which coin has more potential in the top 25?  I don't care which alt coin you pick...thats just a stupid comment!  Bitcoin.  Ill take bitcoin for most potential.

In terms of potential, you have to account for the money flow.

The chance of some bitcoin holders wanting anonymity and thus bitcoin capital flowing to anonymous alt-coins is a serious "possibility".

Personally I think BTC will try to remain "transparent" as to evade banning. The letter of the foundation to Congress etc said something like "hey everything is transparent" etc etc... I don't think they'll change that at BTC. So... When you have one option (transparency), you have 100% marketshare. When a second option is presented (anonymity), you can only lose marketshare versus the new option. It's like when a monopoly on something gets real competition. Its inevitable that some "clients" will move over to the new option. This translates to capital moving from BTC to DRK or anonymous clones, which in turns means, oh well, I don't have to break that down. That's why there's no need for spamming, charities and bullshit of this type. The money will find its way. It tends to do that pretty fast actually.
