The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

As many a wise man has said...  follow the money.

Lots of it moving around and hasn't settled yet.  Could land on dark, could land somewhere else...

But my moneys (literally) on dark for it in the next day or two.

Is there going to be a wallet update before the fork? 9.4.11 is the actual source.

Overvalued? I don't think so.. Have you mined some of the shit out there right now? It's depressing. Right now volume is elsewhere. And honestly good luck with any of the pow+pos coins. quick up and slam down. Oh and with vague anonymity promises. DRK is the real deal and honestly will eventually be priced a lot higher. Right now evan and the team are working there asses for drk coin to succeed and we should be promoting each update, fending off fud and looking for places drk can be used in future. Once all the updates are done and dark achieves a stable price we need actual ways of using dark outside our crypto world. This is something we all can do. I'm all for learning about trading properly but trading on chart patterns is pretty self fulfilling. What I mean by this is if everyone believes shape x means Y then they will trade accordingly. Or play cat and mouse with the belief that other trades will follow Y.  A chart only shows what came before and what's happening right now. After that is a more or less educated guess. The point of my ramble is to say traders will trade (they don't add to the value of the coin they aim to make profit) and right now they are trading other coins and we should be focusing on building the other fundamentals of an ecash. Places to spend. Markets, lending, etc.  Adoption beyond the miner/crytpo trader environment in which we all play. That is what will make this coin unbeatable by competition. And will keep it stable (at a way higher price than it is now)

/rantover

TLDR Let's stop talking about chart patterns and start talking about getting DRK beyond our crypto zone. A private store of value for everyone. Safe secure ecash. With a kickass master node system that can add all sorts of functionality.

I know we're always talking about price on this thread, and how well and difficult it is to mine drk, and what we can earn with masternodes, etc...  And when I think of everyone buying drk, and holding it to store the value of their fiat, I get a feeling like the most important feature of crypto currency is being forgotten.  Basically the reason for it's existence, is it's usefulness.  Its usefulness in trade and in transfers between people of different countries, speed, etc...

So in the end, that is what we need DRK for.  The rest is just the infrastructure of the coin to make it useful to people.  Normal people who want privacy or who need privacy.

Anyway, point being.... well, my train of thought actually trying to reconcile what the real price of DRK should be.  Soon we will have privacy up to 1000 coins at a time, big huge plus.  Tons of coins are held to be masternodes and for investment purposes, another huge plus.  But exchanging for cash is a little difficult at least here in the USA, When a trusted company like Coinbase allows us to buy and sell dark directly, it'll be a huge plus for me because I'm a little wary of the newer exchanges who are opening up drk/$ trades.  so still a little negative.

Now thinking about the only competition we have, Bitcoin, and it's value.... gotta remember it's ahead of us in popularity and has been around the longest.... And remembering that DRK is still very new on the scene.  We won't be that "new" much longer, as time goes by fast in the crypto world.  Considering all this, I know that DRK should be worth a hell of a lot more than what it's going for now.  So what's with the price now?  I sure don't know, but if I had some money, I'd be buying the stuff up like no tomorrow!  Wish I could!  LOL

all these new anony coins are pretty lame compared to darkcoin... except 1...but its a secret ;=)

Have I missed anything with all the excitement?

XC (X11 / PoW/PoS): It's going at it the wrong way (coin forwarding from wallet to wallet). They will have to change strategy.
Cloak (X13 / PoW/PoS): WTF, laundering through exchanges, yeah right.
Vericoin (Scrypt / PoW/PoS): Do they have anything working?
Pinkcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Centralized mixer
Cryptcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Do they have anything working?
Libertycoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Do they have anything working?
Honorcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Do they have anything working?
NXT (PoS): Have they decided in favor or against anonymity?
Anoncoin (PoW Scrypt): IP obfuscation / Dead (?)
TIPS (PoW Scrypt): Central mixer / Dead (?)
Bytecoin-BCN (PoW): 99% premine of circulating coins
Bytecoin clones (PoW): Increasing in numbers every day diluting that field. MRO gets a special mention due to being the first clone.
Zerocoin: DOA (?) / delayed

Prepare for the update so we don't get any problems.

Timeline Update

At this point we are comfortable setting a firm release date for RC3. Release dates for versions beyond that will be updated as circumstances dictate and as development progresses.
RC3 (June 18th): Fully implemented Masternode payments (20% of each block), automatic checkpointing, fixes for network forking issues
RC4 (Mid July): Improved anonymity and removal of 10 DRK Darksend limitation
Code Audit: We will release details on this as they become available
RC5: Address any security issues or major bugs discovered in the audit

If Digital Currencies Were Popular Technology Companies…

… Darkcoin would be Apple

Darkcoin made quite the splash when it was introduced to the public. The creators crafted darkcoin to have all the qualities that make bitcoin great, but with added functionality as a truly anonymous digital currency. Their hope is for darkcoin to become as ubiquitous as bitcoin, but to make sure that any and all transactions on the darkcoin blockchain can remain completely anonymous along the way.

If bitcoin is the Google of digital currencies, then darkcoin is certainly the Apple amongst its peers. Apple is notoriously opaque in their business operations, preferring to keep important decisions behind closed doors.

The bad news, or the rub for darkcoin investors? Coindesk says Bitcoin = Google

The good news, or the positive for darkcoin investors? Well, Apple has a higher market value than google  Grin

Wow... DRK=Apple... ahaha that's huge...

Btw, I was checking LTC on btc-e... the 150k buy wall is been dumped upon continuously in the past days... right now it's like 45k LTC buy order remaining. After this wall crumbles, I'm weird to see where LTC is headed.
