so you probably have about 326 Darkcoins, right? to earn interest you'd need to run a masternode. masternodes are complicated to set up, and each masternode requires 1,000 Darkcoins. when you run a masternode you randomly get payments, on average about 0.66 Darkcoins per day. if you can't afford to buy 1,000 Darkcoins, it's possible to join a group of investors who split the payments according to their shares.
Sounds interesting. I'll definitely want to run a masternode. Thanks

Great I'll check these out.

wii u = games console!
oculus rift = vr headset!
xbox one = 3rd gen microsoft games console!
darksend+ = anon by mixing coins

no need to change anything.  Cool

darksend+ = anon by mixing coins

That's my point made right there.

anon by mixing coins.

sigh.
Yes. Anon by mixing coins. Where is sending involved?

Do you not expect noobs to ask this? And our answer:

"Well, uh, it's totally not related at all cuz, you see, once upon a time long ago in alpha-level-idea land, it was a much smaller idea, but we never updated the name, so, uh, now it's just confusing and makes no sense. Sorry. We swear it's awesome, we just haven't got the sense to give it a name that isn't retarded... Here, have a progress indicator that still doesn't explain shit and also doesn't work. Just another bunch of stupid crap to distract from the real programming. No, really, trust us, we're great!"

Adoption! Moon! Such wow!
since when have you been so concerned about noobs, normally your attitude is, "if you are thick then fuck off" now you seem to be like..oo the poor noobs might get confused, lol

well those same fuckin noobs are the ones who buy shitcoin after shitcoin and dont have a care in the world if its mixin, sendin, shitin, spewin all they care about is..will it go up! if it doesnt within3-4days they dump.
All serious drk investors know darksend means your coins are mixed then available to send, these guys arent noobs so they dont need to have the feature explained in the title.
Next you will bow down to the noobs and ask evan to create an easy guide (or image) for masternode set=up on winblows Shocked Shocked Cheesy

Hi guys

I've made my first Darkcoin investment only about 2btc for now. I'm trying to learn more about the Darkcoin technology and it's all really confusing to me. It will probably take me a while to get even a slight grasp on this. My question is, am I able to earn interest with my coins? Thanks

Good for you kazz05 and thanks for your post. I see you've already been answered by:

The consumers want to send funds anonymously they use for that something named Darksend : it's not far fetched. The coins can be "blended", "mixed", "shuffled" or "teleported" as part of the process, they don't care, their goal is to send cash via internet.
Or you call it DarkDenominationMixRounds jk

Exactly. The transaction may be dark/mixed/stirred/shuffled/fogged, consumer does not care if the end result are anonymous transactions.
Darksend involves any of those and is future proof so Evan can update/change the process (which is likely to happen) and it will still be called Darksend.

Still prefer the version Coins already has in his signature:

There are some things Bitcoin shouldn't buy. For everything else, there's DARKCOIN.
It is cool and adding anything else makes it too long/less interesting/harder to remember

Hehe, I've had him on ignore for a while now, but he has his uses, when he posts on here for an extended period of time the price starts going down, which is good for those still accumulating  Wink

Seems like basic marketing, that you want those noobs no matter what.  Any popular invention wants people who absolutely no clue to be using their product everyday anyway.   The burden of proof is on the seller, stupid noobs is eventually going to be about 99% of your market if you make it big.    People really dont care how crypto works, it just has to do what they want because their the ones with the purchasing power I guess they are what matters.

I personally think their should be a tequila test to see just how easy is your product, how many shots can you take and still send the currency to somebody new without screwing it up, taking too long / falling asleep.      Its like when your Grandma starts using Facebook, that is both terrible and a mark of a billion dollar product Cheesy

I don't see an issue with running a masternode on a windows server? I mean Linux or windows, does it really matter as long as it can run on all platforms?

I think we'd actually have alot more masternodes with windoze support. The sooner some of the neckbeards realise IT is changing and being platform agnostic is the future the better.

A great article for us all to reflect on.   Crypto currency needs to get out of the conference room and geek conventions and into the living rooms!  We need to make this while thing easy... spent much more  time simplifying and explaining this to regular everyday people.

I think it's about security rather than some type of OS snobbery. Have you heard of "_NSAKEY"? Would you say government agency web data harvesting has increased or decreased in the last few years? As far as I'm aware Masternodes are able to snoop on their traffic at the moment, if the OS gave some external agency a backdoor to do the same, the result would be that DarkSends performed using any server software with a preinstalled backdoor would not be anonymous.

I've been running them on windows servers using a large VPS operator, no issues yet. The reason is simply that it has been easier for me as I'm more familiar with M$ shit.

When/if DRK takes off to the extent that someone trying to spy the traffic is a realistic threat, I'll move them to linux and independent smaller VPS operators and if it really really takes off, I'll build my own data center for them. Tongue

In June this year, the USA began to indirectly regulate most banks around the world.

"FATCA imposes a 30% withholding tax on payments of US source income made to non-US financial institutions unless they enter into an agreement with the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and disclose information about their US account holders."

The UK began putting in place regulations in 2013:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/1962/contents/made

American's are taxed by the IRS on their worldwide income, even if they don't live in the US.  Many try to hide their non-US income from the IRS by putting money in foreign banks that have secretive services, for example Swiss numbered accounts.  These types of rules have already seen banks fail.

http://www.thelocal.ch/20131019/swiss-bank-closes-after-us-tax-probe

I am very, very concerned that American's will turn to Bitcoin and then eventually to Darkcoin to try and hide their worldwide income.

Well, whether we want it or not there is a bit of truth on this one.
At the moment more people use centralised btc tumblers rather than an altcoin.
