Neither Braintree nor Coinbase have announced when bitcoin payment processing will begin. Who knows, it may never begin Insubstancial impact on BTC price caused by this announxement is justified. And I don't see how it was supposed to move DRK price one way or another.  

The path to $100,000 BTC

Trolls have hit this thread so hard and for so long they've ruined their own effectiveness by having played out every trick in the book. I don’t like the word hype as for me it implies exaggeration or positive misrepresentation and that is not what Darkcoin is about. I do think we should announce a proper launch date and give people time to prepare, especially if older clients will be kicked off the network. I run several masternodes for example, and will be traveling soon for a few days, I would like to know when RC5 is coming out to be prepared. Also whether we have enforcement or not pools need some time to update and if there is any form of enforcement then it wouldn’t be professional at all to do a ninja launch.  So giving some heads up is just basic courtesy and doing things right.

Having said that, there is also nothing wrong about creating awareness about our new release and letting the media know, that is just good business, but lets just stay grounded and keep the expectations realistic, focus on the innovations and what it means for the crypto world, not the price.

Assuming RC5=opensource then I think this is a good idea as well. Letting people know in advance that Darksend is ready for its full release and educating them on what is now possible (thanks to you and the other devs) makes a lot of sense.
