There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/11/news/economy/scotland-independence-banks/index.html

Imagine if Scotland becomes independent.

Imagine if abandoned by the corporations when things get difficult, threatened from exclusion from the Pound, they decide to look at other options.

What if they do proper research, and decide to adopt the most modern and secure money exchange system in the world.

What if they turned their apparent weakness into a tactical strength and liberated from constraints were first to research and adopt it. Well then Scotland could effectively become more than self sufficient, much more.

Contrary to corporate social responsibility laws, these financial manipulating businesses were only happy to be there when things were easy and comfortable. When things got hard, they only thought about their own interests instead of prioritizing the benefit to the people and the regions of the earth in which they are allowed to operate. Basically, they are committing social self-destruction, which in a well served democracy equals eventual financial self-destruction.

The thought here being that in the eventuality of a Yes vote, Scotland you are free! The question is will they allow themselves to accept infinite wealth?  Smiley

Every moment is like a falling leaf. Seize the moments within the moment.

Somebody on twitter was spreading misinformation about RC5 implementing instant transactions. I tweeted the truth about that and indicated RC6 was the one for instant transactions.

Feel free to tweet as well with the truth!

This is why it's better to use proven crypto rather than exotic mathematics. With Monero and zero knowledge proofs exploits could be found at any moment and the exploiter might not be as nice as BitcoineXpress and actually use it. Plus they could use it anonymously, which is even more dangerous. Scary stuff.

I was wondering if it is possible to send anonymous messages to an address with darkcoin.
So that the reciever could potentially even read the message within his wallet.
Kinda like BitMessage built into darkcoin.

THAT would be so awesome.

I know that I can sign a message with darkcoin, ... hmm... but not sure if this is the same.

My goal is, to one day be able to send someone a serial number (or similar things) back after he anonymously payed me with darkcoin.

Yes. This is basically how the ip obfuscation tech works that I detailed a few weeks ago. It could very easily be turned into an encrypted messaging service.

If you have time, evan, can you elaborate a little bit more about this idea that crossed our minds two weeks ago: encrypted messaging service?

Combining anonymous payments with anonymous messages, both are equally important to me. Information = money, money = information.

Litecoin ASICs pre-orders are getting shafted

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2702.msg206435#msg206435

One of several S-ASICs that are looking like going the way of legal action.

So, Batch 1 KnC S-ASICs might have LTC to themselves. Guess that still means we will get a flood of GPU miners on X11.

Just mine on xpool... Damn this good news, I only pulled 10DRK on the last shift... But still, it's DRK mined with an SHA256/DR rig that is pretty much worthless mining BTC...

By the way.. is mining X11 on xpool is more profitable than mining pure dark?
