First the BBC scares all the pensioners in Scotland to vote NO by massive lies, then they run this:

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-29283124

"The squatting developer behind the new Bitcoin tech Islamic State want for money laundering."

FFS, nobody tell them about Evan.

The invisible islamic enemy that wants to take over the west, and that publicly wishes Bitcoin to become anonymous so that the authorities can ban/control/restrict Bitcoin on the grounds of "terrorism"? Roll Eyes

Yeah right...

Too many people buying DRK «just before known great events»…
Too many people don’t sell now and will start selling «just after known great events». That is why price will drop significantly soon. imho.

The name change thing again? How many times are we going to continue beating the already dead horse?
You and camosoul are the only ones making a big deal about an association with the name. However, trolls, whatever the name used for the technology, would still have made that dishonest association with CoinJoin.
The public outside bitcointalk won't make that kind of error. Why ? They don't know CoinJoin.
Willful ignorance is no support for an argument.

Keep beating it... You're bolstering the trolls by sticking your head in the sand and pretending not to know...

DarkSend is not CoinJoin. Not even remotely close. But, if you name it... Nevermind. Coins101 has showed you multiple pieces of evidence that this problem is systemic, and still you refuse to see it.

At some point in your lives, someone told you to go fuck yourself; this is the point in time where you decided to take their advice. You're fucking yourselves by supporting proven stupidity. I'd really like you to stop.

Toljaso.

Yes, I used the hoers meme because I knew you would go there. Called it way back... Predictable.

Would it stop the trolls? No. But, it would raise an eyebrow to their lies. For now, we're going along with them and there is no reason for a person to disbelieve what the trolls say because we're telling them the trolls are correct.

@camosoul My point is that you two have a tendency to repeat, repeat and repeat again till everyone acknowledges your point of view. And you make a big deal of some things which are sometimes trivial (IMO), fueling the trolls and giving them some nice ideas. Yeah I know you don't think it's trivial, I get your point.

It's got nothing to do with my point of view.

Yes, it fuels the trolls. But less so than the issue at hand, being ignored. That's the point. Parody. Satire. Analogy. Denial doesn't make it go away. Yet again you attack while ignoring the obvious...

The real issue is; I will not drink the kool aide, and you can't make me. Be mad about it. Not my problem.

I will not drink the kool aide.

I have a question that´s been bothering me for sometime now. Every time there is a drop in bitcoin price almost all the alts go to red and darkcoin stays green as long as other are droping. As soon as it turns around all others are green and drk goes down. This has happened over and over again for the last few months. Anyone got a good theory about this?

I only talk about it when it comes up. The fact that so many external sources keep bringing it up... Yeah. Pretend it isn't there.

You guys honestly believe a small sample of bitcointalk and reddit is representative of people outside of these communities, really? Do you think the average person gives two shits about what algorithm bitcoin is hashed with or even how the damn thing works? Really? REALLY?

If it's so bad and it's a deal breaker for you, don't use the coin, let alone invest in it. If DRK isn't strong enough on its own over a name that in your opinion may or may not represent the product, then that's sad. Evan already took a stance. Besides, if names are really that big of a deal, a coin named "Darkcoin" isn't going to be tasteful for real-world adoption. It's a name, get over yourselves.

No, but I have noticed this pattern myself. I am equally intrigued.

Guys, I was the one who brought this whole thing up, I agree the name should be changed.

But, this is Evan's baby, he wants to keep the name, end of story!

Stop wasting your keystrokes!

Why _the fuck_ is the name thing being brought up again?

It has been talked to death - there is not one single bit of useful dialog left in the discussion about it. Let. It. Go.

Did you guys know that the dollar note is in fact named "Federal Reserve Note" ?

So, people call their money "dollar" because that's what they called their money for centuries...
But it's not the official name of the money, which is FRN.

What I want to say with this is.... I see the name Darkcoin as nothing more than the official project name.
Project goal: trying to create a fully functional anonymous online ecash.

I am confident that if Darkcoin becomes mainstream and is used by the masses, a new name for this currency / payment-method will arise to describe the new layer on top of the underlying protocol called Darkcoin.
Much like people talk about the WorldWideWeb (www) and not HTTP, although the latter is the underlying protocol for www.

So we should really not care about names, people will call their money whatever they like, ... something will emerge, and the masses will have the last word.

What if in 10 years large parts of spanish speaking south americans use Darkcoin protocol but prefer to call the currency obscuro, or "scuro"?

Why not? It's the peoples money and they decide what to name it and how to use it.

That's why I don't agree with:

But, this is Evan's baby, he wants to keep the name, end of story!

Evan will always be seen as the creator of Darkcoin, but he can't claim ownership of it.
Darkcoin belongs to everybody who wants to use it. Or else it's useless. Period.
