I never thought I'd say this but I now think that this coin could go to parity with bitcoin (on price that is, not on marketcap) at some point. I'm not saying it will, I'm just saying I can see reasons why it could.

I realise thats a bit of a bold statement and back in May when everyone was saying it I was rubbishing them, but the thing is several critical factors have changed since then. 4 things in particular:

[1] - it survived. This is probably the single biggest factor in a coin's fortunes I think - to survive the exit from the gate, a pump & dump phase and an awful lot of FUD attack

[2] - the competition didn't survive (and there was a lot of it). That just shows you what a big technical challenge this type of project is

[3] - it occupies prime space in the market. It has a genuinely original offering that is known to be desirable and furthermore that is mutually exclusive with Bitcoin

[4] - it's a 1st generation proof of work coin that supports Bitcoin's commercial interface. The competition in this field is now dwindling because we're into Bitcoin 2.0 type technologies that are more about shares and stuff. So Darkcoin can be considered now to have fully captured the 1st generation, Bitcoin compatible anonymous POW market for the foreseeable future unless it screws up which looks increasingly unlikely as time goes on

Juast sayin - it's an observation, but if you look at the ask liquidity in the markets it's thin as hell. It doesn't look to me like there's many people wanting out of this coin. If it gets another rise like the May one it's going to be big.

Indoctrination,

On a totally unrelated and slightly stalkerish note, Eduffield have you lost weight? From earlier pictures that I saw of you it looked like you had a bit more ... consistency? Now the latest youtube video you look really slim. Maybe you're overworked lol?

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

ugh.

it's back.

Couldn't it just stay in its own section? I can't unsee the requotes.

Hey if you fellas looking for some excellent spotlight, just go and find a forward thinking low-key developer that's reasonably smart, and then pay him some bounties to find exploits publicly.

That way, this thing will post it in the main section and you'll get and easy 140+ pages of nothing but free publicity.

And it's only at the end of fall, that we discover it was naught but the wind that knew when one particular leaf was to fall from one particular tree, only to land in one distinct spot .. to be left for an eternity, and waste its time in a wait sublime. C0A2A1C4

Edit: Just noticed it's 360p only, for shame lol. Could also do with some visual overlays but I'm still glad to see Evans face behind his product.

I'd like to officially state, for and on behalf to the Monero core team, that this is the biggest load of rubbish we've ever read.

We have no deal with BCX, nor have we ever had a deal with him. In fact, our many attempts at engaging him have come up empty.

Yes Flufferboy you are correct, I dealt with rpietila directly which you and Smooth have said many times is not part of the dev team. So in a way, you're correct.

I also have no agreements or financial dealings with BCX.

Well that is interesting given the past few pages.

For a second I actually had to make sure I wasn't in one of the XMR threads.

Well, guess it's a welcome to you all

For those inevitable instamine Fudder's, remember to read this first:

Oh really? Can you show us any evidence of that BCX? Any contacts in the Monero community I can contact to confirm these claims: 20th Dec agreement, DRK-related proposition?

If we only had DRK CounterParty........

Just saying.  No disrespect to you othe.  I'm just not as sure as you that BCX isn't capable of doing the things they say.  I'd rather err on the side of caution than get caught naked in the rain.

You missed the point

Othe is right that BCX deserves no attention or respect, and certainly not payments or deals. He is a trolling FUDster who made threats against Monero and demonstrated no ability to carry them out.

BTW, I also not aware of any "deal" that has been made with BCX by anyone.

What is it a "DRK CounterParty For Anonymous Contracts"?
(Sorry for my bad english)

I started brainwashing the devs a few months ago on multi-sig. Now we have it enabled (thanks devs).

I've recently started brainwashing the devs on a DRK counterparty notion:

Two people can enter into contracts to pass, say, ownership of something between them and hold that something anonymously, yet still be able to prove ownership if they need to. Payment is also anonymous.

So, for example: I could buy stock / shares in SilkRoad and be entitled to dividends by virtue of some anonymous contracts. I could pay for those shares anonymously and get paid dividends anonymously.

Well, that's the thinking. Is it possible? Fuck knows. But it would be awesome.

So, I brainwash the devs for as long as possible, so they think about the problem unconsciously until they figure out how to do it  Grin

If he finds previously unknown exploits and hands them over then surely he deserves a bounty. I'll put 0.25 BTC to the bounty as well.

For every exploit you find that the dev team confirms, I'll pay you .25 BTC

I'll match it.

Why is DRK a scam and why do the Monero crew want to take it down?
~BCX~

It's not a scam and it's Monero's closest competitor functionality wise.

I'll never understand why people like to bring/take down other currencies. There's enough space for all of them.

My current deal with Monero ends on December 20th as we came to an agreement for 60 days of BCX free Monero.

Where we go from there, who knows?

They have however offered a proposition for DRK but I wanted to find out about it first.

I think they feel that DRK is why they are steadily falling week over week.

If a coin is good I have no interest in bothering it but if it is a scam, shit is on.

Let's hear the good, bad and ugly!

~BCX~

I'd like to officially state, for and on behalf to the Monero core team, that this is the biggest load of rubbish we've ever read.

We have no deal with BCX, nor have we ever had a deal with him. In fact, our many attempts at engaging him have come up empty.

We also have not ever, and will not ever, "offer a proposition for DRK" to BCX or any other trolls. What an absurd notion, we're not even in "competition" with Darkcoin, much less able to waste money on a petty spat.

Yes Flufferboy you are correct, I dealt with rpietila directly which you and Smooth have said many times is not part of the dev team. So in a way, you're correct.

His DRK proposition is that I find an exploit for DRK that he can have tested with other resources he has hired elsewhere.

If it test out he will pay me 50BTC. He has been spot on paying me so I have no doubts he will.

My Monero deal with him expires on December 20th so until then I will not post about or bother Monero.

Considering DRK is open source and I am not going to be the one to attack it there is nothing nefarious going on.

I can promise you this though, I will find an exploit.

This coin is way too sophisticated and smooth to NOT have an exploit.

~BCX~

I'm sorry, but are we supposed to be scared of this B.S.? YOU SOUND LIKE A CHILD! " I'm going to get you!" with a flashlight shining under your face.

This is a multi-million dollar project, how are we going to be intimidated by some loser who probably never gets out of his parent's basement?

You are a joke! Why anyone would waste their time with you is beyond me...

Feel free to carry out your "threat", you will be doing us a favor...

Bloody hell. I'm getting in on this one.

I've found about 9 harmful, of about 10, exploits in the grammar on the darkcoin.io website which may lead to the devs being sued.

Devs, please confirm so I can get paid.

Evidence can be seen here:
https://www.darkcoin.io/terms-of-use/

For example:

"The content of this website or others associated with Darkcoin is not investment advice. You should use your own judgement and research multiple information sources before investing in Darkcoin."

'....before investing in Darkcoin.... - this indicates a contradiction that Darkcoin is eCash. It demonstrates that you are investing in something and investments are typically regulated activities. Shocking.

So, that's 0.25 BTC, 0.25 BTC and 0.25 BTC. I'll happily take DRK  Grin
