LOL, good luck getting that 501 (c), the IRS is putting those in the back of the bottom drawer filing cabinet, LOL. (sorry, I couldn't help myself! LOL) Trying to find the sub-forum on DCT, Vertoe came up with a great idea last night and I want to pull the trigger, need the foundation's blessing first... The forum is not there yet. I talked about it with Propulsion and he was ok with it, but we had no specific date when we discussed. I've written him and I hope we can set that up in the next couple of days. Are there plans for the foundation to setup masternodes with the funds they gather? May be a bit early for this question. Flare IMO it should be done! It would be the self investing system. I think masternode owners should automatically become a member if they choose to.

Version 10.17.23
Some issues have been reported and I'm reverting to 10.17.21 until I have some time to thoroughly test the changes. If you you're running a masternode, it's best to stick to 10.17.21 until this is resolved. Thanks!
Get me right please, I really appreciate your hard and ongoing work, ...but... *each* time I look into the DRK thread there's a new version available. An auto-update feature like armory offers (signed update files) would be really nice. At least an info when starting the wallet "Alert: new version available, update once more" should be implemented. Thanks for reading. its times like these that i'm glad Flare with his trustless Masternode hosting service ( https://darkcointalk.org/threads/service-masternode-hosting-service.2648/) is doing all of the server updating for me, all i have to do is update my local (cold) wallet and sporadically put out a ''masternode start'' command in case of a protocol change... edit : btw, if anyone gets the message ''outbound (or was it inbound?) port 9999 not open'' when giving the command ''masternode start passphrase'' from local wallet try unlocking yr wallet first, helped for me.

Are there plans for the foundation to setup masternodes with the funds they gather? May be a bit early for this question.
If they have the spare funds then I'm sure they will, no reason not to. It would be badass if they could get enough masternodes to have a healthy daily income. I'm sure that's in the plan somewhere. Or purchase shares in a legit cloud mining operation, which will bring good income for developers. I know a couple that are not Ponzi's that would serve the foundation well. There are no plans yet about what to do with the funds because we don't have a clue about how much we'll have In a few days we'll do a press release to give this some more publicity, but truth is that the people who may be interested in joining will probably have already heard about the foundation by then. We will probably wait for a couple weeks for things to stabilize and then we can start to plan with a better view on who we are. One thing we do know is that the foundation should pay for the infrastructure of Darkcoin that is currently being funded by Evan and Holger out of their pockets. As explained in the website ( https://www.darkcoinfoundation.org/about/funds/), all funds are stored in multisig address and you can all check, so it is easy to see how things are going. You can even follow your funds from your wallet to the payment processor and then to the multisig. Btw, the difference between the amount sent and the amount received is the payment processor fee (0.5% + 0.001 per withdrawal... all charge similar amounts and this one works great). What a brilliant plan Yes, exelent. Can I get two life time in case I resurect once? Fernando, did the foundation will need some worldwide representant? I will gladly help for Mexico branch. I think you should get three lifetime memberships to be really safe Now seriously, you can't get more than one, but if someone is able and wants to give more, we also accept donations ( https://www.darkcoinfoundation.org/donate/) or that person could sponsor another one. Help is always needed, everywhere. The foundation is established in the US because is where Evan is located and where most of crypto developments happen, but Darkcoin has a really diverse community, with a big percentage of it outside of the US (me included, I'm in Spain). We are probably too small to be able to create local groups with any success, but all of us should try to evangelize in our local communities when possible to change that. If you need the foundation to help with anything for that, just ask and we can arrange something. It is great to know that we have a supporter in Mexico, I'm super optimistic about your country. Btw, I want to tackle the language problem soon and start translating things. Your help with Spanish would be greatly appreciated

Could be implemented with the following trigger: darkcoind -autoupdate ;-)

It takes about one minute to update all your MNs (if local wallet is not needed and you got automatic ssh-login with certificate): https://darkcointalk.org/threads/masternode-update-script.1640/Lmfao the guy stays all day long on improving the code and yet you cannot create an autoupdate script in one min

Quantum/Super computers wouldn't do a damn thing to Darkcoin's anonymity through obscurity because there are too many viable funding sources at 8 rounds that it wouldn't be without reasonable doubt. Unless you can absolutely prove that address A sent payment to address Z, you haven't proved anything. That's the benefit of off-chain mixing. Coins that do on-chain privacy where the linkage is unknown due to encryption are the ones that are at risk should a quant/super-computer decrypt the cryptography behind it. Having said that, there would be far larger problems at stake if there were computers out there capable of breaking cryptography used in cryptocurrencies.
if you got the privatekey, you can determine all the wallets transactions.. with quantum calculations you could evaluate everybodys privatekey instantly, so it obviously won't be anonymous then.. irrespective of that, btc as we know it today would be dead anyway Actually, from the reading I've done that doesn't appear to be true. They need you to sign the private key at least once to be able to factor it. It's explained really well here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Myths#Quantum_computers_would_break_Bitcoin.27s_securityBitcoin and Darkcoin would both work fine in that situation. You would simply store money in a brand new address after every transaction and completely empty out the old ones. It would mean Darkcoin would actually remain anonymous and it would still be completely functional. Edit: found a better link as far as i followed discussions, i think that is not an appropriate solution. here is an article describing the problem http://bitcoinmagazine.com/6021/bitcoin-is-not-quantum-safe-and-how-we-can-fix/Thanks, this was a really interesting read. Lamport signatures seem to be very promising, I wonder what else we could do with that concept. there was another article about CMSS which showed even better resistance , couldn't find it but here is the paper for CMSS http://eprint.iacr.org/2006/320.pdfedit: this one also seems to have a nice overview http://www.bitcoinnotbombs.com/bitcoin-vs-the-nsas-quantum-computer/

Lmfao the guy stays all day long on improving the code and yet you cannot create an autoupdate script in one min Hey smart guy, maybe not everyone is as quick as you are. It takes me a minute to get a correct URL; with my Virtual Machines and clumsy linux skills updating a few MN takes a time. And we are not talking about myself - there are hundreds of people doing the same and you can see here how much confusion it creates. Again - not complaining, just saying that I would appreciate the autoupdate feature. Edit: thanks uzer23 for the link.

But hopefully, and we all believe it, that this comunity, coin, foundation will grow, and then we can think of something with local branch in active country. I'll think about what I can do here. But even bitcoin is not well know/use here, so there is more to do. But I read somewhere that there is some activist group that promote crypto, I'll try to contact them. And there is the creator of one coin that isbased in Mexico, but cannot find/ remember which coin... For the future, I was thinking of something like AA structure, because it seam to be really really strong. But little by little. Petit à petit l'oiseau fait son nid. Poco a poco se va lejos.

They started a little while back with their Dual Mods. At first I thought it was bullshit but when the DRK started rolling in and I was producing more DRK then my farm ever could, without the electricity bill, I kept my mouth shut and enjoyed the extra DRK... PM me if you like and I'll take you through it... He's either a FPGA God or it's gonna be the greatest Ponzi in Crypto history

Masternodes up again... takes about 30 mins in my case to update 3 remote & 3 local instances and backup & re-start everything
When there's not a protocol change (which only happens for main releases), you only have to replace the darkcoind on the remote instance and stop and start it. Then do a "masternode start" and it should say "remotely started".
