Hello,

Ok, well I hope you do not mind, but I think that steps should be moved fast to setup a working group to take control.

1) We need a leadership team and some devs to take the project in hand and go for it.
2) Ignoring the website that is current, a new website needs to be setup so we can take control

IDEA: setup a auto installer, using a free install shield style program!, I know the current systems and while its OK i think bringing in a systems that just auto-setups the software with a updated CONF file is vital to make the program more main-stream for all people. not everyone is gonna know how to access %appdata%, some will be scared and to be honest, and do not take this directly at cash coins as many do this... its annoying lol, a simple setup program to install all and shove a icon on desktop and start menu then job done!.

I already have a method / idea for this type of installer... And i am happy to forward up the start up cash for a domain and hosting to get the project a site and all.

I would recommend that they are the first steps and need to be done, once a nice website is up and we have taken control of all of the above (the team and site) then moving to setting up new pools, FB page, twitter, once more people are on board then we can move into setting up more systems such as payment API and alike.

Just a though. Smiley

Paul.

RE. Heartbleed Bug, That is something I am happy to take a look into.

1 million new coins are being printed per month right now.

That kind of inflation and dilution is a big part of what's killing CASH right now.

We should follow Nautilus Coin's example and kill the PoW stage right now and go straight to PoS.  That did wonders for NAUT and quite a few other popular alts have also employed the same strategy with very positive results.

I think moving Cash to pure PoS at the moment would be a bad idea.
It will turn away new investors and he recent issue on Mintpal with VRC has soured pure POS for a lot of people, no issue with slowing down how many are mined each day though

Ok, that works just as well.  Let's cut the mining subsidy by maybe 80%.  That would work well I think and make the coin more secure.

Does CASH have a rich list yet?  Top 100 would be enough.

Thanks.

Hello everyone

I have been working on the base of a new website for cash coins, given that the old one is not within our access scope

So far the site is like:

http://emeraldashborer.co.uk/cash/drupal-7.29/

I know its basic, but its the start! Smiley you will also see I have created a windows installer (MSI) this will auto install the software, add shortcuts to desktop and start menu and also includes a copy of the cash.conf file (auto installed to correct path).

This i feel will make the uptake easier as it lets anyone install right away and no messing around with files ect!

The file itself is not URL live but i can share to anyone for a demo / test!

Paul.

ps. the site is a test site, will look to move it to a real live site when / if everyone is happy.
ps. It goes without saying but i am happy to make other people site mods to let them edit / change  / add as required!

If that's available then it's pretty good.

I'm confused cause I thought some people liked CryptoCash better but cashcoins would be just fine.  We need to be consistent to avoid confusion.

Edit:  Crypto-Cash.net is available for purchase.

I own Crypto-Cash.com and I can lend it out for free for say 12 months if that's a better choice.

We have to decide if we're gonna go with CryptoCash or CashCoin as out official name or if possible to use both without confusion.  I personally like both names equally so it makes no difference to me.

There's actually plenty of good [better] options for a domain name.

CryptoCash.me is available.

And there's a bunch of different CashCoin domains available as well with no hyphens.

I think that's the best way to go.

Edit:   The best yet would be CashCoin.org but Charlie Shrem owns it.  I heard he gives away domains to help the crypto cause.  Does anyone know him well enough to ask if he'll give that domain up?  It would be the perfect domain for this coin I think.

If not the other ones will work just fine.  Preferably one without hyphens.

Hello,

I am happy to go for a range of domain names, just think it would be a good idea to get control of the project abit more, I.E get a website up, let people download the software and track the updates for the project! Smiley

My installer for windows has been tested and seems to work well, i do really think small things like this (windows installer) will make it better, no messing around, just download, install and go! Smiley

Hi Paul, thanks for Throwing your efforts towards CASH, needed someone with skills and motivation to get this thing started again.

Great call with the .msi, it really bugs me that it's not written to do for us, what would be nice though is if the user was able to specify where to save the wallet file, having it in with the chain and always called 'wallet.dat' makes automatic backups a nightmare to set up and the theft of the file from malicious software a piece of cake.

Not sure where I'll be able to help, I'm more a 'jack of many trades, master of squat' kind of guy, but if we sort out a 'jobs' page, I'm sure I'd be able to find a few things to put my name to.

I think the biggest questions are;

Stick with Scrypt and welcome the ASICs or switch to something different
Stick with PoW or go PoS only
Stick with KGW (which is known to have flaws) or switch to something newer

E2A.

I always preferred CryptoCash, but that's going to become cliche, as could CashCoin, given how many other coins, websites, services etc... with Crypto or Coin in their name. CASH is it's USP.

Hello TuxNut! Smiley

I think the first step needed is to form a team to go over it all, they are all valid question and while I am happy to push aspects to get the project moving, i do not think i (Alone) can make the call on all the questions Smiley

re USP, i think cash coin (or alike) is great, the "Crypto" word is thrown around alot now, so nice to be different! Smiley

Thank you re the MSI idea, i can def look into the wallet idea, just for now wanted a faster way to get people to download / install and this seems the best method! Smiley

Paul.

It wasn't specifically targeted at yourself, rather all those here to get everyone that's here to think about it and respond.

I've found an in ability to get a new wallet to connect, if I download the chain from a different machine, it connects and syncs. Had the same on 3 different machine(s)/Install(s), don't know what's going on with that.

What do you mean  in ability? Smiley

I had noticed that when i sync it takes ages, plus sometimes when I close the program and re-load it just shows the icon in the taskbar, nothing else but this might be me playing around with settings Smiley

As far as features go - it looks like PoS and Anon are still pretty hot features investors looks for.  There should be something new soon everyone will jump on but I don't know what that is yet.

We have PoS so maybe consider adding anon with the cut in mining subsidy update.

Just a thought.  If anyone has an idea of what features people will look for next please shout it out.

Cheers!

Also guys, if the dev is still updating the code aren't we gonna have an issue when we try to fork the coin?

We need to make sure we have the necessary mining power to enact the changes. I have a feeling the original dev is the anonymous miner which means he's got quite a bit of mining power set on CASH.

Just a thought!

Anybody know why the coin count isn't updating on coinmarketcap?  It seems to have stalled about 1 week ago.

Is anybody finding blocks or what's going on?

Thanks!

I had noticed the "anonymous" miner, i suspect this is the old dev??? not sure..

Right now I am getting a VPS setup to let people connect to sync!

Other ideas:

1) Submit cashcoin to download.com and alike sites!!!
I already have accounts for other software for many download sites, so am happy to upload the software using them to let users download, also improves the image for Cash Coin!

2) Would it be possible for us to setup a FB page / group so we can chat more often? setup votes ect for ideas ect
Will make it alot faster for ideas to get seen / approved, just a though!
