Check out NEM logo collection http://www.flickr.com/photos/115246188@N06/

olivern and adobkin  are the 2 I would choose.  If there isn't coin in the name then it doesn't need to be a coin based logo.

A quick update:

the stakeholder list is back online again and is updated to page 20 of thread 2. There are a few cases of duplicate hashes that cause us to take an extra time in checking the list.
Luckily, as I see it there is probably just one or two fraudsters that tries to take other's transactions and claim a stake. Now in the case that two accounts having the same hash, then one would be legitimate and one would be a fraudster, I would apply these criterion:

1. veteran account would be considered legitimate while new account would be labeled "fraudster".
2. if two accounts are both new; priority is given to the account that post the hash first. The account posts the hash later would be labeled "fraudster".

These two rules could be reversed if a conclusive evidence of the hash's ownership is provided either by: 1. the transaction is signed by one account; 2. a small amount is sent from the sending address to NEM's address to prove the ownership of the sending account.

Thanks for supporting NEM and I apologize for the lateness of updating the stakeholder list or the inconveniences these above methods causing legitimate stakeholders.

We have been checking thoroughly registration thread 2 from the start. When we catch up with the thread 2, a similar audition of thread 1 will be performed.

UP

Utopian, could you give any time frame for the distribution of the coins? Thanks for all the work you put in.

Sorry nothing definite at the moment. But I can have a way so that you can sell/ buy your stakes within 1 months when the fund raising is over.

You must be able to give some kind of estimate for the release of the coins? A month? Two?

There will be some kind of estimate, but not now.

@kingaltcoins: fixed and sorry for the inconvenience.

development fund i think i read 5% > needs to be increased because it costs a lot to go onto an exchange and you need many  !!!!!!!!!!!!
Adverts also cost, publicity is key.

i think you said no faucet / it is paramount that more people become involved thats how i got my first nxt cion.
i would be interested in doing this (setting up a site at my cost if needed)

Any Plans to put some funds aside for bounties, giveaways and faucets? I think both are a good idea. Bounties help it grow. Faucets and giveaways attract new people to the coin.

I think these are good questions and we should have a discussion about how to carve up the genesis block. How much NEM should be reserved for: (1) development / development bounties, (2) faucets / giveaways, (3) advertising bounties?

your 100% right. Perhaps there should be a free vote to put you in the dev team.
to much bickering SOLUTIONS NOT PROBLEMS !

I'm getting a PhD in computer science and wouldn't mind helping out for a dev stake. Send me a msg if you have anything you want me to work on in particular.

I can program an exchange, but one of my concerns is the legality of trading with fiat. Could we set up a corporation in some country where it would be legal and run everything from there?

If anyone wants to be on the dev team, PM either me or UP.

@makoto1337 I probably wouldn't set up an exchange for fiat right away due to the legal issues you've mentioned. But, an exchange from BTC <-> NEM and NXT -> NEM, is probably a lot safer and should give enough liquidity to NEM.

You need a working wallet that is tested.  I was hoping for direct fork from NXT.   Leverage what NXT has done.

Distribution of shares is important.  There really is no point in worrying about donations, wikipedi  a, advertising, gifts, etc until you have a working currency.  The earlier you get it going the sooner you can put it on an exchange and let the market further distribute NEM.  NXT has a lot of momentum, utilize it.  The longer you wait for NEM, the harder it will be to establish market share in cryptocoin market.  There will be a lot of shitty NXT clones and if you wait around too long it will be hard to differentiate NME from other NXT clones.

If we were to do a direct fork of NXT, there really wouldn't be a compelling reason to own NEM instead of NXT aside from speculation. We're hoping to improve upon NXT instead of coming up with a copy coin.

At first:
In which way are these improvements mentioned at the mainthread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=440185.0) so great, that you should switch from NXT to NEM?

We're not planning to have all of those features in the first version of NEM. The dev team is working on a high-level design / whitepaper that will go over the features targeted for the first version. At that time, hopefully, the feature set and advantages will be clearer.

If NEM runs on JAVA, provides a way to automatically install EVERYTHING, JAVA, NEM client, then produces an easy way to start NEM. For example, a NEM_start.html points to 127.0.0.1:7875.

I agree that would be a nice client feature.

Why 4 bil coins? NXT has only 1 bil. This makes NEM more cheap. How about 210 mil coins?  Smiley

The percentage stakeholders will get in each case will be the same. The important thing is the value of all NEM, not how much a single NEM is worth.

I just started a poll for the preferred type of NEM client: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=447965.

Please vote if you're interested.

This is my last post for the night. Sorry if I made too many posts Smiley. I just finished catching up on this thread and hope I responded to everyone.

Why is it taking so long to fill up the stake registration Huh I think most people don't realize the risk return disparity of NEMCOIN.

If NEM flops u loss a measly $40, if it indeed manages to release a new coin, the potential  return on investment is huge.

Data from Coinmarketcap.com

Coin Name   Marketcap   Price per coin   Number of coins
DogeCoin   $ 54,782,158   $ 0.0013   42,801,348,476
Nxt           $ 66,988,175   $ 0.067   999,997,986 NXT
Mooncoin   $ 3,298,593   $ 0.00012   26,641,447,228 MOON
NEM                                Shocked           4,000,000,000

It should it least rival dogecoin which translates to $1300 on an investment of $40. Guys if u rae still undecided please stop wavering and go allin.

When will the list of presumed fraudsters be posted so they can start claiming their funds ?   I was on the list earlier today but waited for things to settle down.  I then see a post claiming veteran accounts are given precedence ?  Do you mean the actual title "veteran"?

My account is from 2012 and I'd really like to know who scammed my transaction, lol.

In the end a list of all the accounts that are proven "fraudsters" should be posted for the greater good of bitcointalk.

veteran means >20 activity. so you are good if a 1 activity newbie takes the hash from you. The list is up again and if you still have an "Y" condition then you are still good.

The list is just updated to page 20 thread 2 though.  Let me know here you you still have a question.

Some cool ones among them - thanks for collecting them.
I think this one stands out though : https://secure.flickr.com/photos/115246188@N06/12297861706/lightbox/

I like the first one as well.
The second one looks very familiar. I don't want to accuse anyone of anything but I think someone took some logo and exchanged whatever was there with "NEM".
