I feel like people have forgotten that theft is a crime and if you really want cryptocurrencies to replace fiat currencies then you will need a way of recouping stolen funds.
IHO this is the first true test of digital currency being able to replace fiat currencies and is the whole reason I mine and support various currencies to begin with.
you forget in real world there is a reason why judges and cops and invstigations are separated.
the fork did selfjustic.
they should have put there time and effort on finding out who it was but they put there mind on saving investment.

It's a piece of software. They mitigated a technical issue.

There's no need to make this into 1984.

thanks for proving my point the devs are the judges in this case.  In the case of government they're not separate from the government they are part of the government.

If he sees etc as an attack on his investment I guess he sees it as a business expense.

i dotn think i made your point
what i mean is ethereum is a code and the devs and miners changed it not to put the attacker in jail no they erased the crime to save investment.
theft is a crime for which you get in jail not a crime for which you stay free becouse devs erased it.
so again if they had let the executive and judges deal with the thief he might be already in jail. it would have been posible to freeze the dao all dao
and report have a investigtion

how is it in his country if he destorys evidence of a crime?
the old chain is the only evidence of the theft crime and if a investigation is started they need the crimesceen, so to say
wiping out the crimesceen is a crime by itself where i live.
and the hardfork didnt eliminate the crime the attacker did( if he did one).
if its a legal crime the cops will come after him

Ive moved most of my coins off from polo....

COINBASE FOR ETH  Smiley
polo for free etc trading and easy noob $  Smiley

Polo post a few days ago...
https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2016.07.15-Ethereum-Hard-Fork/
In addition, for those interested in keeping their tokens from the losing blockchain as a keepsake, we will support a one-time withdrawal of the deprecated tokens, provided that the losing chain is still functional when you attempt a withdrawal. Specific instructions on how to access your tokens on the old chain to follow.

Now somewhere along the lines something changed...i dont know what...

I feel polo are actually damaging the crypto scene...by confusing new or inexperienced users to buy etc.

I will not be sending any BTC to polo...only trading my free etc and cashing out regularly Smiley

Technically Bitcoin is a fork and Bitcoin Cash is the original blockchain. When the hard fork occurred, people had access to the same amount of coins on Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.- NIST

https://bitflikz.com/blogs/news/ethereum-whales-offer-legal-support-for-dao-hacker-challenging-foundation

That is great. I thought my ETC would be worthless, now I can sell all my ETC to them. Wish them good luck.

interesting blog...anonymous of course.
also kind of self incriminating ...trading ahead of announcement.
if they are so confident in legal standing come forward now and identify self(s)...as they will have to later to bring real action.
I would imagine foundation pockets are much bigger anyway and could easily withstand any legal onslaught
