Using Ubuntu 16.04LTS:

I simply saved the "Keystore" folder (where all you're wallets are), before doing anything.

Deleted everything related for 0.8.2 (except for "Keystore" folder, which was saved to a temporary location and a USB drive).

Installed 0.8.3 and downloaded the entire bockchain (only takes 40 minutes to download the entire blockchain on Ubuntu 16.04LTS).

Closed 0.8.3 down.

Moved my "Keystore" folder back to hidden Ethereum folder in the Home directory.

Re-ran 0.8.3 and everything was as shinny new Smiley

I do re-download the blockchain, when there is a major mandatory update, as regular routine with all crypto wallets.

There are 2 options currently with Geth:

1) On a fresh install you can enable fast blockchain download for a clean install or re-install: "--fast"

2) Then for normal running, increasing the cache size from default cache size of 128MB, you can boost internet speeds by 50% by using "--cache=1024".

You'll can look through this post for tips, for people who cannot buy a faster internet connection:

http://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/4293/is-there-a-quicker-way-then-geth-fast-to-download-the-ethereum-blockchain

And, there are plenty of youtube tutorials covering those more advanced options for Ethereum's Geth client.

OK people, can someone pls give me excatly instruction what to do in win 10 x64 to make this wallet work again. I downloaded new wallet, placed exe file in eth wallet, deleted everything related with old wallet (even tryed without deleting) and it creates 2 folders in Roaming folder (Ethereum, Ethereum Wallet) and I dont know how are they related because every time when I run wallet by v0.8.3, wallets created do not show but they are created in keystore (same if I insert my wallet file). If I use v0.8.2.exe then they show. So keystore is not recognised by v0.8.3 but chaindata is because sync starts when I run it. Both are in Ethereum folder. And what about this Ethereum Wallet folder? Why are 2 folders created?

This will be nothing like that. You'll have to be their customer and only send to other customers. You think they'll have decentralized fiat and go to jail for money laundering? Everyone here is just pumping. Tether already exists and is difficult to use with all the aml/kyc.

From your previous posts imaginative content - is this another nonsense post, from a person who owns no Ethereum and has no interest in ETH!

yea, the installation was very different this time.

If you want your old wallet to work 0.8.2, so you feel better about seeing your funds again.  Grab GETH.EXE out of your %AppData% / Local / Mist directory and replace the version of GETH.EXE in your 0.8.2 / resources / node / geth directory.   Then just run your 8.2 wallet like normal and that will work.

After that you can fool with getting 8.3 properly setup.
