Ethereum is rising !!! to the moon
No it's not? It's been declining due to the Parity screw up.

No it's not? It's been declining due to the Parity screw up. It's declining indeed but I'm not sure it's due to Parity. It looks more like a global movement looking at Coinmarketcap. Anyway I hope investors and believers out there know the difference between a contract (meaning devs e.g Parity) screwing up and the Ethereum network screwing up (which is not the case here nor it was the case with the DAO back in da days).

Ethereum survived from DAO and ETC, this Parity fuck up mean nothing. Vitalik will fix things, there's no need to worry about. If price decreases that would be buying opportunity.

Solidity seems to be too complex if even Gavin Wood can’t get it right.
This is a big f*ckup that will hurt Eth.

I can almost guarantee you blindly that most people don't understand the difference. It would still be a problem if this would result in a fork though. I would lose all trust in Ethereum if it kept forking to save people from their mishaps.

The parity f*ckup won't alter Ethereum fundamentals. Might have contributed negatively to ETH price though. There's actually more and more positives regularly coming for Ethereum (last month's ICOs of Raiden Network and Polkadot for instance, great projects) and now that Bitcoin has almost doubled I expect ETH price to start raising again from the second half of November.
Anyway this thread is an important page of the history of cryptocurrencies.. I was reading the first posts and was impressed to see how much even in 2014 Vitalik already had very clear ideas about the future and a project which shaped the crypto world as we know it today.

A distributed system attempts to access an API data source, but since the nodes need not execute the instructions simultaneously, the data provided by the API can yield different results. Hence you need to build some kind of time to API value lookup table; formally called oracle.

sooner or later ETH and ETC will introduce the PoS, now is a good opportunity to buy 1000 ETC while it is cheap

Can't agree with that logic. IMO news like that will not cause an increase in price - especially with a potential hard fork required to fix it.

There could be a hard fork to save the coins It's an option but hard fork is not too easy to do and community don't want to see too many hard forks.

This could be breaking news you should sold this news to top news agency what they did and who failed their plan. Interested to know more in details.

I don't think there will be a hardfork this time because this bug is not in network code (dao fork had repaired a "division by zero" bug in solidity) now it is a problem with only one client. Big problem but not global...

It looks like Ethereal starts from strength to strength, from consortium support to improve transaction processing. I would not be surprised if Ethereum shook Bitcoin in the future.

Vitalik Buterin's response to Parity issue Vitalik ButerinVerified account @VitalikButerin I am deliberately refraining from comment on wallet issues, except to express strong support for those working hard on writing simpler, safer wallet contracts or auditing and formally verifying security of existing ones. https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/928172344631115776

In spite of this parity locked issue Ethereum is still standing firmly and market didn't show any sign of distrust or change. It was an issue of wallet which should be treated in this regard and has nothing to do with price or future of Ethereum. They need to be more professional in creating these contract those expanding its usage as independent service providers.

I was shocked by the news from a financial news app. When I checked the ETH price, as you said, it is standing firmly. So it didn't seem to be a big issue. I am just curious, are these ETH just lost forever?
